Chapter 347: Will You Still Love Her if She Becomes an Addict?

Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Will You Still Love Her if She Becomes an Addict?

In the room, Melissa Greenwood was trembling as she opened the bag, preparing to take out the white powder, when she heard Yolanda Greenwood knocking on the door outside.

Frustrated, she decided to ignore it and gently pinched a bit of powder with her fingers, placing it in the crook of her hand.

The knocking grew louder, and Yolanda seemed determined to keep knocking endlessly.

Melissa Greenwood gritted her teeth in hatred and yelled at the top of her lungs, "Yolanda Greenwood, do you want to die? What kind of crazy person doesn’t sleep but keeps knocking?"

"Melissa Greenwood, open the door. It’s something important," Yolanda signaled Noah Coldson and Cooper Coldson, and the two immediately moved to hide to the side.

"Whatever it is, talk about it tomorrow. I’m going to sleep." Melissa Greenwood was furious and almost wished she could kill Yolanda.

"No way, open the door now. I can’t wait until tomorrow." Yolanda kept knocking persistently.

Melissa Greenwood was about to lose her mind. She glanced at the powder in her hand, hesitated for a moment, then poured it back into the bag.

If she took it now and then opened the door for Yolanda, her state would undoubtedly give her away. She couldn’t take that risk.

She could only deal with the annoyance first: "Wait a moment, I’m coming. You better have a good reason, or I won’t let it go."

Melissa Greenwood looked around before getting up to fetch a tissue. Then, she pinched some powder onto it, folded the paper, and hid it in her palm.

If push came to shove, this thing could also be used as a weapon.

A cruel smile curled at the corner of her lips. Hugging Little Gabriel, she opened the door.

She didn’t open the door fully, just a crack, her tone impatient as she stared at Yolanda Greenwood, "What do you want?"

"I forgot to change Gabriel’s diaper." Yolanda looked anxious. "He needs it done before he can sleep."

"What’s with all these damn rules? Don’t forget, you’re my hostages now. Be grateful you’re even alive." Melissa Greenwood was extremely annoyed and started closing the door.

Yolanda pushed against it, preventing her from closing it. "It’s not okay. Gabriel’s delicate. If he doesn’t get changed, he won’t handle it. Just let me change him. It’ll be quick. Once I’m done, I’ll leave and stop disturbing you."

"No!" Melissa Greenwood felt uneasy and coldly refused.

"Please. Otherwise, it’ll get too dirty. Think about it—you have to sleep with him on the same bed. What if it gets on you..."

"Enough!" Melissa Greenwood couldn’t take it anymore. "Fine, but do it quickly, and don’t try anything funny."

"I won’t, I swear." Yolanda quickly stepped inside, intentionally leaving the door slightly ajar behind her without fully closing it.

Melissa Greenwood held the child close, showing no intention of putting him down. "Hurry up and change him already."

"..." Yolanda was speechless. "You’re not going to put him on the bed?"

"Are you going to do it or not?" Melissa’s expression darkened even further. She yawned, clearly drained and uninterested. "If not, leave. We’re trying to sleep."

"Alright." Yolanda could only comply. Carefully, she unwrapped Little Gabriel’s small blanket, then removed his pants.

Melissa Greenwood glanced at Yolanda apologetically. "Gabriel pooped. Are you sure you want to hold him while changing? It might smear on you!"

"Gross." Melissa Greenwood wrinkled her nose and immediately placed Little Gabriel on the bed, instinctively warning Yolanda, "I’m telling you, don’t try anything—otherwise, you’ll regret it badly."

"Got it." Yolanda began cleaning up Little Gabriel while keeping an eye on Melissa Greenwood.

Melissa Greenwood continued yawning but remained cautious, standing close by and keeping her eyes locked on them both.

Yolanda grew tense, carefully adjusting her movements to block Melissa Greenwood’s view as best as she could.

"Hurry up." Melissa Greenwood urged impatiently.

At that moment, Yolanda was just finishing up changing Little Gabriel and putting on a new diaper. Suddenly, she cleared her throat.

In the blink of an eye, the door was abruptly opened. Noah Coldson stormed in with a gun raised, shouting, "Don’t move!"

Melissa Greenwood realized something was wrong and lunged forward to grab the child, but Yolanda immediately turned and began grappling with her.

"Don’t you dare touch a single hair on the child!" Yolanda clenched her teeth, every bit of her strength poured into the fight.

Just then, the door burst open again, and Cooper Coldson rushed in, grabbing Little Gabriel away.

"Melissa Greenwood, it’s over!" Noah Coldson kept his gun trained on Melissa. "Surrender now, and maybe I’ll say a few good words for you in court."

Melissa Greenwood had been pulling at Yolanda’s hair, but hearing this, she laughed weakly. "Oh, really? So good, so good—I can’t beat you all in this game... can’t beat you..."

She slowly released her grip on Yolanda’s hair, but almost instantly, with her other hand, she frantically opened the paper packet containing the white powder and hurled it straight at Yolanda.

Yolanda didn’t have time to dodge and began choking violently from the powder. "Cough, cough, cough..."

"Hahaha..." Melissa Greenwood’s laughter turned to wild glee. "Yolanda Greenwood, you’re done. You’re finished! If I’m dead, you won’t live well either. Hahaha..."

Noah Coldson stepped forward like lightning, forcing Melissa Greenwood down and pressing her face hard against the ground.

"Hahaha..." She continued laughing hysterically, increasingly manic. "You love her, don’t you? Fine. After I die, I’ll make sure you see her turn into an addict. Then let’s see if you’ll still love her!"

Yolanda was still coughing, struggling to speak. "What the hell was that stuff?"

"What stuff?" Thinking about the white powder, Melissa Greenwood grew even more frenzied, her entire body trembling uncontrollably. "The good stuff—it was a favor to you!"

"Are you okay?" Noah Coldson looked at Yolanda with concern.

"Hahaha... She’s fine. She’s perfectly fine!" Melissa Greenwood strained to lift her head, her eyes fixed on Yolanda like a predator. "Yolanda Greenwood, don’t you feel euphoric now, like you’re floating? You’ll thank me for this one day."

At that moment, Cooper Coldson re-entered.

He was still holding Little Gabriel, and his expression showed equal concern as he gazed at Yolanda.

Spotting the traces of white powder scattered on the floor, he crouched down, pressing a finger into some of it and bringing it to his nose for a cautious sniff.

Melissa Greenwood saw this and grew even more maniacal. "Cooper, taste it—try it with your mouth. It’s amazing stuff!"

Cooper didn’t detect anything unusual, but glancing at Melissa Greenwood’s demeanor, he already knew what it was.

"Melissa Greenwood, you’re downright depraved!" He stood up and looked at Yolanda with even greater anguish.

"What do we do now?" He turned helplessly to Noah Coldson. The thought of Yolanda possibly succumbing to addiction horrified him. "Brother, is there anything we can do?"

Noah Coldson frowned. He had investigated numerous cases involving this substance before, and without exception, no one had managed to truly overcome it.

"Think of something, Brother." Cooper’s desperation grew. "Should I call 911 now? Or contact a rehab center?"

"No need." Yolanda Greenwood’s face appeared much more composed than theirs.
