Chapter 272: Chapter 272 Are We Having an Affair?

Cooper Coldson walked to the kitchen.

Lola Gold whispered to Yolanda Greenwood, "Wait for me in the living room, eat something obediently, I’ll go up by myself."

"Alright, have a good talk, and don’t be too impulsive," Yolanda instructed.

Lola took three deep breaths before turning and heading upstairs.

Seeing that Cooper was still not out of the kitchen, Yolanda slowly made her way there, only to find Cooper cooking noodles.

Under the warm yellow light, the man wearing an apron had a face with soft edges which looked less aggressive and more pleasing.

Tears welled up in Yolanda’s eyes as she suddenly remembered something - back when they had just started their divorce proceedings, Old Master Coldson had forced Cooper to make her a bowl of noodles.

She had long forgotten the taste of that bowl of noodles, but she remembered clearly feeling happy then.

"What’s wrong?" Cooper’s voice suddenly interrupted her thoughts.

Yolanda came back to reality and realized she was crying. She quickly wiped her tears, awkwardly explaining, "Maybe it’s the smoke from the cooking."

Cooper frowned. Was there smoke?

His kitchen was equipped with a top-tier integrated stove system. Even stir-frying wouldn’t produce much smoke, let alone just cooking a bowl of noodles.

And, Yolanda was just standing at the doorway; how could she be teary from the smoke?

He watched as she slowly walked away, thinking to himself: Could it be that she was crying because she was hungry?

Yolanda reached the small dining area and awkwardly sat at the table, too uneasy to look at Cooper.

Cooper placed the noodles in front of her with a displeased tone, "Don’t you know your own condition? Why follow blindly?"

He went back to the kitchen and brought out a plate of cold dishes and some sliced ham, and even fried an egg.

Yolanda was stunned, watching him incredulously.

After they got married, he never set foot in the kitchen, let alone cook; now how could he...

"Try it, the taste might not be that good," Cooper surprisingly didn’t leave, but sat down on a chair nearby, "I taught myself."

The villa they had lived in was now only inhabited by him.

Sometimes, living there alone, he gradually learned to make some simple dishes.

He knew the taste was not great, good enough just to fill the stomach.

If it were before, such food would never have entered his stomach, but now, he seemed to be less picky.

Yolanda nodded. Indeed, people change; even Cooper could learn to cook for Melissa Greenwood.

She hadn’t started eating, and already a bitter taste surfaced in her mouth.

Seeing that she wasn’t interested in speaking, Cooper glanced upstairs and took the initiative to ask, "Is that child really from my younger brother?"

Yolanda sounded unhappy, "How would I know."

"..." Cooper felt like an innocent bystander being dragged into this.

He coughed lightly, "You know my brother, he does whatever he wants, and we can’t control him."

Yolanda looked at him, puzzled by what he meant.

Cooper awkwardly averted his eyes, further explaining, "You can be angry with him, but you shouldn’t be angry with me because of his affairs."

Yolanda paused, apparently not expecting Cooper to say that; did he still care whether she would be angry?

She continued to eat slowly.

To be honest, Cooper’s culinary skills were indeed not great, but perhaps because she was really hungry, she felt very comfortable eating, feeling all warm.

Even, the twins in her stomach, who were usually quite restless whenever she ate, were unusually well-behaved today.

Could it be that the babies also knew this meal was hard-earned?

Cooper tried to make conversation again, "Actually, this matter can’t be lied about."

"En?" Yolanda didn’t understand what he meant.

"Even if the child isn’t born yet, a DNA test can be done to confirm who the father is," Cooper said, his eyes intensely focused on Yolanda.

Yolanda instantaneously lowered her head, feeling guilty, unable to meet Cooper’s gaze.

She didn’t understand what Cooper meant; was he suspecting her babies?

Cooper saw everything and continued, "If the child really is from my brother, then my brother... can only marry Randy Carter."

Yolanda bit her lip, "But he loves Lola!"

"Although my brother isn’t the heir of the Coldson family, the family’s teaching about lineage is the same," Cooper’s voice turned cold, "A Coldson child cannot be left outside, at least not alive."

A chill ran down Yolanda’s spine, feeling that there was more to Cooper’s words.

She couldn’t help but be scared.

"Eat quickly," Cooper softened his tone noticeably, sensing the change in Yolanda’s emotions, "Actually, I think there’s no need to worry, the likelihood that the child is my brother’s is less than ten percent."

Knowing that a Coldson child couldn’t be abandoned, they would naturally be more cautious.

Christopher Coldson had been a playboy for many years, yet such an incident had never happened before, so Cooper thought the person named Randy Carter probably just wanted some money.

Yolanda continued to eat, but already felt tasteless.

At that moment, her phone rang; it was Noah Coldson’s video call.

The two of them almost talked over video every night. Even though they only spoke briefly, it seemed to be enough for Noah just to make sure Yolanda was alright.

However, in front of Cooper, Yolanda hesitated whether to answer.

Cooper didn’t mind initially, until he noticed the name on the phone, and he became irked.

"What are you doing? Answer it, right? Why don’t you dare to answer? Are you having an affair with me?"

Yolanda glared at him angrily but still answered the video call.

"Yolanda, have you eaten?" Noah’s concerned voice came through the phone; almost immediately, he noticed that Yolanda was not at home.

"I’m eating right now," Yolanda smiled slightly, "What about you?"

"I just finished eating, came out to hear a report, and it’s halftime now," Noah’s gaze frequently glanced at the background behind Yolanda, feeling as if he had seen it somewhere.

Thinking that Noah was showing his love even during the halftime of a report, Cooper snorted in his mind.

Feeling uncomfortable, Yolanda didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Noah then asked, "What are you having? It seems like you are not home, did you go out with Lola?"

"Just noodles," Yolanda awkwardly tugged at her lips, "Not at home, went out with Lola, we’re at the Coldson Family’s old house, Lola had some business with my younger brother."

"At the Coldson old house?" Noah sounded even more surprised; he found it hard to imagine someone in the Coldson old house cooking noodles for Yolanda.

If Isabella Ross was there, she would surely instruct the servants to prepare a sumptuous dinner for Yolanda, so why would there be noodles?

He asked suspiciously, "Noodles? Did a servant make them?"

Yolanda’s palms were sweaty; she really wasn’t having an affair with Cooper, but in such a situation, how could she answer that question?

She glanced unconsciously at Cooper sitting across, was just about to lie that, yes.

Then she heard Cooper say icily, "I am certainly no servant."
