Chapter 266: Chapter 266: You Want to Get Back Together with Yolanda Greenwood, Don’t You?

"Cooper, actually... I just went to the Coldson Group to find you."

Melissa sniffed, dried her tears, and gazed unblinkingly at Cooper Coldson.

"Really?" Cooper’s expression remained unchanged.

"Yeah, you were talking to Assistant Reyes in the large conference room. The door of the meeting room wasn’t closed." Melissa continued to watch him, waiting for him to explain, even if it was a lie to cover things up.

However, Cooper remained indifferent, "Oh, did you need something from me?"

Melissa bit her lip hard, truly unable to understand why Cooper could be so indifferent towards her.

"Cooper, won’t you explain? Who are you doing a DNA paternity test with?"

Cooper looked back at her. "Can’t you guess? Of course, it’s Yolanda Greenwood."

"Cooper!" Melissa was furious. "You’re about to divorce Yolanda Greenwood, and I am your fiancée now. To talk to me with this attitude and to say these words, do you think that’s appropriate?"

Cooper frowned slightly but still had no look of guilt on his face. "Melissa, from the very beginning when you found me and acknowledged our relationship, I told you I would never love you."

Almost instantly, those words made Melissa’s body sway.

Of course, she hadn’t forgotten. It was during college when she stumbled upon Yolanda Greenwood being with an exceptionally excellent senior.

Without much effort, she found the identity of this senior. It turned out he was the Coldson Family child who had spent time with them on the island, Cooper Coldson.

Everything that happened on the island, Melissa knew very well; therefore, from the beginning, she was merely an observer.

And Yolanda Greenwood was the foolish benefactor of the Coldson Family, who had been forgotten long ago because of Noah Coldson.

But Melissa knew clearly that neither Cooper nor Noah would forget this benefactor.

In the eyes of five or six-year-olds, that benefactor would become the lover that Cooper and Noah would always yearn for.

Therefore, Melissa boldly approached Cooper, revealed her identity, and forced him to break up with Yolanda Greenwood, but Cooper had made it clear that he would never love her.

However, Melissa didn’t believe it. She felt she was far superior to Yolanda Greenwood, and if she stayed by Cooper’s side and loved him wholeheartedly, he would surely fall in love with her.

In fact, Cooper really did as he had said.

The night before Melissa had relations with Brooks Parker, she climbed naked into Cooper’s bed, even though Cooper was drunk because of her.

And what happened?

During passionate moments, Cooper always called out Yolanda Greenwood’s name and, even upon realizing that the person beneath him was not Yolanda Greenwood, mercilessly kicked Melissa out.

So, at that moment, Melissa thought of giving up, found Brooks Parker, and made the first wrong choice.

She never imagined that one night of passion would get her pregnant, and Brooks Parker, the spirited and scholarly senior, loved her deeply. She thought it over and decided to give up on Cooper and go abroad with Brooks Parker.

The scene at the birthday banquet was her and Eliana Reed’s masterpiece. She knew that after she left, Cooper would surely be with Yolanda Greenwood.

But they couldn’t live happily together; she wanted Cooper to detest Yolanda Greenwood. She wanted their marriage to be rotten from the start.

Everything was proceeding under her meticulous calculations.

After leaving the country, Melissa even earned several major awards relying on Yolanda Greenwood’s paintings and gained renown in the industry, but Brooks Parker faced setbacks everywhere and quickly lost his edge.

She constantly got updates on Cooper’s and Yolanda Greenwood’s married life from Eliana Reed, which was her only solace at that time.

Later, at the moment Little May was born, she finally decided to come back, to return to Cooper’s side.

Now, she had been back for a year, and once again Cooper said to her, "I will never love you."

Melissa smiled self-deprecatingly.

"Melissa, have you ever thought that perhaps marrying me is not the best choice for you?" At this point, Cooper planned to speak his mind, "There’s a lot I can offer you besides marriage."

Melissa laughed at him, "Yeah, a lot, including more money than I could ever spend. Cooper, if it were for money, I wouldn’t have ended up here today."

"Everything is irreversible," she suddenly yelled at Cooper, "Don’t you understand? Everything is irreversible."

The things she did, the people who died because of her, had all become unchangeable facts.

She burst into laughter, "Cooper, you’re not thinking of having regrets now, of getting back with Yolanda Greenwood, are you?"

Cooper remained silent.

"Cooper, she’s your sister-in-law now, don’t you understand?" Melissa laughed through her tears. "Are you going to fight with your brother over a woman? Do you want to bring such disgrace upon the Coldson Family?"

"Enough!" As the Patriarch of the Coldson Family, Cooper clearly couldn’t stand these words. "I’m talking about you and me right now; there’s no need to involve others."

"You and me?" Melissa shook her head, "Cooper, stop deceiving yourself. It’s not just you and me; there’s also Noah and Yolanda Greenwood."

She shouted, "Yolanda Greenwood has already decided to marry Noah Coldson. Cooper, having regrets now will only make you a laughingstock."

"Slap!" Cooper slapped her across the face, "I said enough, don’t speak another word!"

His face was cold, and his gaze frightening, "My decision has nothing to do with anyone else, and it’s unrelated to Yolanda Greenwood."

Melissa covered her face, "Fine, if you say it’s unrelated, then it is. If you want to take back your words and not marry me, just say so. I can’t cling to you unwillingly."

"I just hope you consider it carefully, maybe..."

"There is no maybe," Melissa interrupted him. "I only want to marry you; I only love you, even if you were penniless and destitute."

Cooper frowned but had nothing to say, "Wait till the health check is over, then answer me."

"It doesn’t matter. Whenever it is, my answer will be the same." Melissa stood up, preparing to leave, "Are we still having dinner together?"

"As you wish."

"Then I’ll go change." Melissa quickly went upstairs.

Cooper stood up and walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window. The words Melissa had just spoken echoed in his mind over and over.

Did he really regret divorcing Yolanda Greenwood?

Was he really prepared to compete with his brother for a woman?

If all this really happened, what would become of the Coldson Group? How would everyone view them?

As the Family Head of the Coldson Family, could he really disregard everything?

Melissa and May quickly came back after changing, and May chattered all the way to the dining room.

Melissa looked out the window, her mind in turmoil.

If she went to the U.S. for a prenatal checkup, what about her condition? Could she keep it hidden?
