Chapter 258: Chapter 258 Adam Sterling Feels Something is Off with May

Melissa Greenwood knew that filing for divorce would take at least three months, but at least this way, Cooper Coldson had no excuse to drag things out.

They had to divorce quickly, otherwise, the longer the delay, the more uneasy she felt.

"Okay," Yolanda Greenwood nodded in agreement after a moment’s thought.

She asked again suspiciously, "Did Senior Brother Brooks’s death really have nothing to do with you?"

Melissa furrowed her brows in irritation, "How many times do I have to say it? I’m speechless. The police in the U.S. have closed the case, so stop overthinking it."

"Then let me speak to May alone for a moment," Yolanda Greenwood seized her last chance.

"Okay." Melissa surprisingly agreed readily.

So, after Yolanda Greenwood left, she pulled Little May aside, "Does May want to live with mom and Uncle Coldson?"

May nodded vigorously, "Yes, mom is very good to May, and so is Uncle Coldson."

"That’s good," Yolanda handed her a card with a phone number written on it, "This is Aunt Yolanda’s number, call Auntie whenever you need anything, okay?"

"Okay, thank you, Aunt Yolanda," Little May obediently stored the card away.

Yolanda Greenwood sighed softly before asking with difficulty, "May, were you at home when dad had the accident?"

"I was playing downstairs."

"Then did you see anyone go to your house?"

May shook her head, "No one."

The answer was the same as what she had heard at the police station; maybe May really didn’t know anything.

Yolanda Greenwood patted Little May’s head, "Good girl, dad has gone to another place waiting for you, and one day you’ll be reunited with him, so don’t be sad."

May shook her head, "Not sad, May will go find dad later."

Yolanda Greenwood smiled; clearly, May was stronger than she had thought.

Meanwhile, Melissa Greenwood pulled Noah Coldson aside.

"Big brother, what exactly are you dawdling for?" She said exasperatedly, "It’s been so long, and you still haven’t handled Yolanda?"

Noah Coldson appeared agitated, "These matters don’t concern you."

"How can they not concern me?" Melissa Greenwood crossed her arms, "I’ve said before, our four-way relationship is closely linked."

She lowered her voice, "Even if Yolanda doesn’t want to marry you, can’t you pretend?"

Noah Coldson looked puzzled.

"Pretend, make Cooper Coldson believe that you two are about to get married, can’t you?" Melissa almost laughed out of irritation.

"I don’t understand what you mean."

"Isn’t Yolanda trying to get divorced? If Cooper believes you two are definitely getting married, would he still cling to Yolanda? And your mother, doesn’t she want to take back the child? Isn’t Yolanda scared? Just put on a show and satisfy everyone."

Melissa had long thought of this strategy to make Cooper completely give up, leaving him free to marry her.

She spread her hands, "This wouldn’t hurt anyone, and who knows, maybe the fake could turn into reality, and you might actually win the beauty."

"I’ll think about it," Noah Coldson turned and walked away.

Melissa Greenwood called after his departing figure, "Hurry up, my patience is limited."

After everyone regathered, Yolanda Greenwood handed May back to Melissa and again reminded her to treat Little May well, or she wouldn’t let her have good days ahead.

"This is my own daughter, how could I treat her badly?" Melissa looked at Yolanda Greenwood’s stomach, "You better take care of yourself, lest you end up unable to keep even your own child."

She clicked her tongue, "I heard Isabella Ross has been keeping tabs."

Thinking back to Isabella Ross’s warning, Yolanda Greenwood’s complexion changed, posing a serious challenge for her.

On the way back, Adam Sterling brought up Little May, "I feel there’s something off about this child."

"What seems off?" Yolanda Greenwood immediately worried.

"It’s hard to say, I just get the feeling that she’s lying." It was the first time Adam Sterling encountered such a situation, the other party was just a two or three-year-old child, yet he felt a sense of helplessness he couldn’t overcome.

"Lying? About what?" Yolanda Greenwood perked up, thinking May might know something.

Adam Sterling shook his head, managing a bitter smile, "Don’t laugh, but I don’t know, and saying she’s lying is just a hunch, there’s no evidence."

Noah Coldson frowned, "May? Just two or three years old? Can she lie?"

Everyone fell silent, it was hard to believe, but as a top psychological doctor, Adam Sterling’s intuition probably wasn’t wrong.

"Could it be that she saw something that day?" Yolanda Greenwood worried again.

If May really saw the murderer who killed her father, why wouldn’t she say anything? Could the murderer be related to Melissa Greenwood?

"With the current situation, none of my methods are effective," Adam Sterling felt somewhat defeated, "This matter can only be doubtful for now, perhaps the truth will be uncovered in the future."

"Oh," he remembered something else, "After he got the five million, Senior Brother Brooks didn’t buy a large amount of drugs, but died from an overdose, so the drugs must have been brought by the murderer."

After saying this, he awkwardly rubbed his head, "I just remembered this piece of news, maybe it’s not useful."

Yolanda Greenwood looked out of the window, if the murderer was Melissa Greenwood, that would mean she had bought the drugs, could it be her?

Time passed quickly afterward, Leah Diaz had resigned and returned to her home country first, and Yolanda Greenwood also soon finished her three months of assignment abroad and finally returned home.

She was already eight months pregnant, heavily pregnant with twins.

Noah Coldson stayed and continued to accompany her, while Adam Sterling had already returned.

On the day they returned to the country, Lola Gold and Adam Sterling came to the airport to pick them up.

Lola Gold came forward with a big hug, "My darlings are finally back."

After saying this, she winked at Noah Coldson, "Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t calling you darling, I was referring to the children in Yolanda’s belly."

Noah Coldson shook his head helplessly.

"Finally decided to come back, Captain," Adam Sterling thumped Noah Coldson’s chest, "Or rather, I should call you Colonel now, those guys at the base are all waiting for you to settle accounts."

In this period, though Noah Coldson was not in the country, he had still represented the country abroad, handling many matters and achieving numerous merits, and he was to be promoted to Colonel upon his return.

"Okay, I’ll definitely visit soon to beg for forgiveness properly," he promised.

The group joked and laughed as they got into the car, and just as Yolanda Greenwood sat down, a call came in.

"It’s not someone from Baruy, is it? They’re seeking you out right after you return, maybe it’s Skinflint Taylor?" Lola Gold expressed her discontent.

"It’s not from the company," Yolanda Greenwood instinctively looked at Noah Coldson, "It’s your mom, Aunt Ross."

"Isabella Ross?" Lola Gold looked at Noah Cotton warily, "How does your mom know Yolanda’s back today?"

Noah Coldson frowned.

"I trust big brother, he didn’t tell her," Yolanda Greenwood took a deep breath and answered the call, "Hello? Aunt Ross?"

"Yolanda returned to the country today, right? Come over for dinner tonight," Isabella Ross didn’t give Yolanda Greenwood a chance to refuse, "The old man has been missing you since New Year’s."

"Okay," Yolanda Greenwood could only agree.
