Chapter 171: Chapter 171 Cooper Coldson, Melissa Greenwood Committed Suicide
"What do you mean?"
Cooper Coldson’s face was full of disbelief.
However, Yolanda Greenwood didn’t answer him again, she turned and walked away.
"Stop right there!" Cooper shouted, "What exactly is going on?"
Yolanda turned her head, smiled at him, and said, "If you want to know the truth, follow me."
"Cooper!" Melissa Greenwood came over and hugged Cooper’s arm, "Don’t trust her, don’t go with her."
Seeing that something was wrong, Isabella Ross immediately got up and came forward, "What’s the matter? Cooper, what are you doing?"
Cooper was still extremely shocked, he looked at Noah Coldson, "Is what Yolanda said true? Was the little girl back then really Yolanda?"
Noah nodded.
Cooper glared fiercely at Melissa, "You lied to me?"
"No, I didn’t," Melissa burst into tears, "Cooper, believe me, I didn’t lie to you."
"I’ll settle the score with you when I get back!" By now, Cooper had clearly believed Yolanda’s words. Seeing that Yolanda had already pushed open the door, he immediately shook off Melissa and chased after her.
"Cooper!"
"Cooper!"
Isabella and Melissa called out together, and immediately after, Melissa fainted.
Yolanda pushed open the door, only to see Jaxon Greenwood and Eliana Reed both waiting there.
Jaxon stepped forward anxiously.
"Uncle," Yolanda looked back and saw Cooper coming up, "I’ll contact you later."
Upon hearing this, Jaxon’s head buzzed, and he subconsciously assumed Yolanda had deceived him.
He grabbed Yolanda’s arm, wanting to say something, when he heard Eliana wail from the side, "Melissa? Melissa has fainted, hurry! Melissa has fainted!"
Jaxon looked at Yolanda, his eyes clearly filled with anger.
"Let go!" Cooper had caught up, "I don’t care what grievances you have, right now, she has to come with me!"
He grabbed Yolanda’s other wrist, "Yolanda, remember this, if you dare to deceive me this time, I will definitely make you taste regret."
Yolanda ignored him and whispered to Jaxon, "Uncle, don’t worry, I’ll find you later."
"What use is holding onto her now?" Eliana cried and scolded Jaxon, "Go and save someone already!"
Finally, Jaxon let go of Yolanda’s arm.
Yolanda stood there, watching as Jaxon and Eliana rushed into the chapel, and the door closed once again.
"Let’s go, it’s too late for regrets now." Cooper dragged Yolanda outside.
Halfway there, they encountered Lola Gold.
She couldn’t find Yolanda, so she had called Noah Coldson, which is how she found out Yolanda had gone to crash the wedding.
She came up anxiously, "Yolanda, are you alright?"
Yolanda shook her head, "I’m fine, you go back first."
Lola Gold looked at Cooper worriedly.
"Go back." Yolanda nodded firmly.
Soon, the two of them got into the car; no one spoke, and the car quickly left the city area and took the mountain road to the east of the city.
About an hour later, the car stopped at the top of the mountain.
"Speak up!" Cooper had no intention of getting out of the car.
Right now, it was deep winter, and it was very cold outside, the wind on the mountain top even stronger.
Yolanda sat in the passenger seat, her gaze turned outside; from here, she could see half of Gray City’s splendor and brilliance.
"There’s nothing much to say, it was I who saved you and your brother that year. Melissa took advantage of my unconsciousness to steal the Jade Pendant you left behind. I only knew about the other Jade Pendant because your brother mentioned it."
Cooper’s face was so dark it could drip water; he had felt that Yolanda was very much like that little girl when he first met her.
So, when they first got to know each other, he had tested her more than once by mentioning this experience, but Yolanda had never reacted.
"Why didn’t you speak up before?"
Yolanda sighed softly, "After you left that year, Eliana and Third Greenwood almost scolded me to death, so... if I could choose, I would rather forget that incident forever."
Compassion appeared in Cooper’s eyes, "Why?"
"Why? If you must ask why, then it’s probably because of not loving. When you don’t love, even breathing feels wrong."
"Yolanda, look at me." Cooper suddenly spoke.
It seemed they were always missing each other, but fortunately, not this time.
Yolanda slowly turned her head, but before she could speak, Cooper kissed her.
This kiss had occurred countless times in Cooper’s dreams, and he lost his reason in an instant.
He had missed her taste for far too long.
Yolanda’s mind went blank, and she pushed Cooper away forcefully, "What are you doing?"
Cooper frowned, "Isn’t this what you wanted?"
This woman had deliberately come to tell him the truth and stop his wedding; wasn’t it because she wanted to reconcile?
Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh and cry, "Cooper, you never understood me. So, is your love really just a tool for repaying kindness? Can you just love anyone who has shown you kindness?"
"What’s the difference?" Cooper didn’t understand, "Whether it’s love or repaying kindness, isn’t it good enough to treat you well?"
"No, it’s not like that." Yolanda’s eyes reddened in her exasperation.
"Then what do you want?" Cooper was growing impatient, "I can promise you, not to divorce you, and even if you want, I can organize another wedding for you. Isn’t that enough?"
Yolanda genuinely laughed angrily; she looked ahead, "Cooper, I have said what I needed to say, please take me down the mountain."
"What do you mean?"
"It means nothing." Yolanda tried to keep her tone calm, "I came just to tell you the truth, not to reconcile with you."
"Yolanda, don’t push your luck!" Cooper gritted his teeth.
He had already agreed not to divorce, he had even proposed organizing another wedding, wasn’t this woman satisfied yet?
"What do you want exactly... to agree not to divorce?"
Yolanda looked at him, and at that moment, she truly thought this man was foolish.
Just as she was about to say something, Cooper’s phone rang.
Cooper took out the phone and saw the caller was Eliana.
He looked at Yolanda unhappily, "Your mother sure is concerned about Melissa’s situation."
He directly declined the call.
"Say it, what do you want?"
The phone rang again, this time it was Jaxon.
"Answer it." Yolanda couldn’t help but speak; she had already made Jaxon sad today, and she didn’t want him to be snubbed at Cooper.
Cooper answered the phone.
"Where are you?" Jaxon almost shouted, clearly furious.
Cooper’s face didn’t look good, and he didn’t respond.
Jaxon continued to yell, "Melissa has attempted suicide, Cooper, I’m telling you, if anything happens to Melissa, I will never let you off."
This time, Jaxon hung up the phone first.
Cooper looked at Yolanda, his expression uncertain.
He quickly called Noah Coldson to check on the situation.
"She really attempted suicide." After hanging up, Cooper immediately started the car.
The car sped down the mountain.
As Yolanda was getting out of the car, the last thing she heard Cooper say was, "Yolanda, you better not have lied!"
