Chapter 170: Chapter 170: The person who saved you back then was me, Cooper Coldson
"Yolanda!"
Jaxon Greenwood struggled to look away, pained by the child’s expression.
But as Melissa Greenwood’s father, how could he allow someone to ruin his daughter’s wedding?
"Yolanda, your uncle begs you, please go back!"
"Leave now!" Eliana Reed pulled Yolanda Greenwood forcefully, pinching her stomach viciously, "You little wretch, dreaming of ruining Melissa’s wedding? Not a chance!"
The pain made Yolanda’s tears burst forth, but the more it hurt, the less she was willing to give up.
She quickly made up her mind and whispered to Jaxon, "Uncle, there’s more to Eldest Aunt’s death."
What?
Jaxon was struck as if by lightning, staring at Yolanda with wide eyes.
Yolanda, using all her strength to resist Eliana’s pulling, continued to entice Jaxon, "Help me, and I’ll tell you."
She couldn’t reveal too much at this moment, but these bits of information were enough to sway Jaxon.
Indeed, just as Yolanda was about to be dragged away, Jaxon grabbed her arm, "What exactly happened?"
"Let me in!" Yolanda said firmly.
For an instant, Jaxon’s gaze was filled with disgust, "Yolanda Greenwood!"
Yolanda’s heart ached sharply, but she had no other choice.
"Let me in!" The same four words, unyielding!
Eliana hadn’t heard what the two were saying and, seeing Jaxon holding onto Yolanda, became frantic, "Big brother, what are you doing? Do you want your daughter to hate you for the rest of her life?"
Jaxon’s expression began to waver.
"Let me in, and I’ll tell you the truth!" Yolanda’s voice lowered again, "Eldest Aunt shouldn’t die in vain!"
"Yolanda, you better not be lying to me," Jaxon gritted his teeth.
In truth, he too found Gemma Morgan’s death mysterious; she had been discharged from the hospital, so how could she die from just donating blood once?
Jaxon walked up to Eliana and looked at her coldly, "Let go, let her in."
"Jaxon Greenwood, are you out of your mind?" Eliana was stunned, "At a time like this, you’re still confused? Yolanda clearly means no good, let her in? Impossible."
"Let go!" Jaxon, already tall, now loomed over Eliana, intimidating even without laying a hand on her.
Eliana was both frantic and frightened, "Big brother, wake up, your sister-in-law is dead, and now Melissa is your only kin. What does Yolanda count for? Why would you help her?"
Knowing how much Jaxon cared about Gemma, she immediately added, "I believe what your sister-in-law worried about most before she left was Melissa. You can’t let her rest in peace!"
However, these words only strengthened Jaxon’s resolve to help Yolanda, because the person Gemma had been most concerned about before her departure was clearly Yolanda.
Jaxon said no more, forcibly prying Eliana’s hands away and looking at Yolanda, "You go in."
"Thank you, uncle," Yolanda’s eyes reddened as she turned to push the door.
Jaxon spoke again, "Yolanda, no matter what you plan to do once you’re inside, think carefully about the consequences."
Yolanda paused, her gaze hardened, and she pushed open the door without hesitation to see the dreamlike wedding scene before her.
At that moment, the ceremony had reached its critical point.
The priest asked for the second time, "Mr. Cooper Coldson, do you take Ms. Melissa Greenwood to be your wife, to have and to hold, in good times and in bad, in wealth and in poverty, in health and in sickness, to love her unreservedly and to be loyal to her until forever?"
The first time the priest had asked, Cooper Coldson hadn’t answered immediately.
And now, at this moment, he was still struggling.
"Cooper!" Melissa Greenwood looked at Cooper through her snowy veil with pitiful eyes, "Answer, don’t forget your promise!"
Cooper Coldson finally shifted his gaze from Melissa Greenwood and looked toward the priest, slowly starting to speak, "I will..."
"Wait a minute!" The abrupt voice instantly drew everyone’s attention.
Yolanda Greenwood strode toward the couple, "Cooper Coldson, before you answer, there’s something you need to know."
Melissa Greenwood paled with shock, suddenly lifting her light veil, "Yolanda? How can you be here? What are you trying to do?"
At the dining table, Isabella Ross’s face also turned ugly, "What’s going on? What does this Yolanda want to do?"
She tried to stand up to confront Yolanda and send her away.
"Mom!" Noah Coldson held her down, shaking his head, "Don’t interfere just yet."
On the other side, Old Master Coldson’s expressionless face suddenly brightened, "Little Yolanda has come to crash the wedding."
"Dad!" Isabella Ross was truly exasperated.
"Melissa Greenwood, why are you so afraid?" Yolanda advanced step by step, "If your love with Cooper Coldson is genuine, why fear the appearance of an old flame like me?"
Melissa Greenwood signaled her friends with a look.
Iris White, Wendy Bennett, and others immediately got up, ready to stop Yolanda.
But before they could reach Yolanda, Noah Coldson called out, "This has nothing to do with you; take your seats!"
The guests exchanged glances, and even if they wanted to help Melissa, they didn’t dare go against Noah Coldson’s wishes.
Noah Coldson nodded at Yolanda from afar.
He wasn’t surprised that Yolanda would appear; however, there was an inevitable sense of disappointment in his heart.
"Cooper," Melissa turned to Cooper Coldson when she saw that no one could help her, "Cooper, you promised to marry me, you won’t go back on your word, will you?"
Cooper Coldson frowned, startled by Yolanda’s appearance.
"What do you want to do?" he asked in a low voice.
"Cooper, it’s obvious she’s here to ruin our wedding, seeking revenge on both of us," Melissa sobbed, "Cooper, no matter what she says, you can’t believe her."
Cooper Coldson glanced at her with a frown, "Don’t panic; I want to see what kind of tricks she’s going to play."
Under the eyes of all, Yolanda walked up to the pair.
Before her stood two people: one in a suit and the other in a white wedding gown, one the man she once most wanted to marry, the other the idol she secretly admired.
If it weren’t for the things Melissa had done before, she certainly would have sincerely wished them happiness.
But now?
Yolanda’s gaze at Melissa Greenwood was extremely cold, "You will pay the price for everything you’ve done!"
"Yolanda, I beg you, please let me marry Cooper. It has been my dream all my life. Please grant us this," Melissa pleaded in tears, gasping for breath, seemingly about to faint at any moment.
Those sitting at the dining tables pointed and gossiped about Yolanda, condemning her as heartless.
"She already climbed into Young Master Coldson’s bed, stole her cousin’s fiance, and now this? Yolanda really has no shame!"
"Exactly, such people shouldn’t even be let in!"
"I heard she’s recently gotten involved with Young Master Coldson again; this woman really knows how to cling to the Coldson Family."
...
Yolanda could naturally hear these words; she bit her teeth and forced herself to ignore them.
She turned her gaze to Cooper Coldson, "You’re marrying Melissa Greenwood because she claimed she saved you twenty years ago, right?"
Cooper Coldson’s expression changed.
"I’m telling you now, the little girl back then wasn’t her! It was me!"
