Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Noah Coldson and Yolanda Greenwood Recognize Each Other

"Falling for someone?" Cooper chuckled softly, "For that brainless fool?"

He turned to look at Noah, "But it’s really you, big brother, who should think about whether you’ve been getting too close to your ex-daughter-in-law."

"Don’t overthink it," Noah paused for a moment before speaking, "Besides, you two haven’t even finished the procedures yet..."

He watched Cooper’s departing figure, "Cooper, it’s not too late to regret this now."

"I never regret my decisions." Cooper strode away from the hospital.

Outside, he called Richard Reyes.

"President, I’ve consulted with the lawyer, and George Ross could be sentenced to at least five to six years," Richard’s voice was filled with restrained anger.

"Five to six years?" As the woman’s blood-soaked bandage flashed before Cooper’s eyes, he said fiercely, "I want his life!"

"..." Richard was momentarily stunned, then quickly recovered and responded, "Understood."

That night, Yolanda did not sleep well, terrified by George’s situation, yet she also felt uneasy because of her debt to Noah.

After breakfast, she called Noah to her bedside, "Big brother, I’ve thought it through, I shouldn’t trouble you."

"Yolanda!" Noah sounded urgent.

"Big brother, no need to say more. I don’t want to owe you too much; it keeps me up at night," Yolanda made up her mind, "Whether we go back to Gray City or stay in Ully Town, please, big brother, don’t interfere with our affairs anymore."

"Yolanda," Noah’s expression grew serious, "Actually, you don’t have to feel indebted, because the one who has always owed money is me."

"What do you mean?" Yolanda looked puzzled. Was Noah’s care for her not just because of the child in her womb?

Noah stared steadily at Yolanda, "Yolanda, don’t you remember me?"

Yolanda shook her head blankly; Noah had left when he was six and had only recently returned— they shouldn’t have met before.

"Yolanda, when you were four, you were kidnapped. Do you remember that?"

Yolanda’s eyes widened instantly. She had never told anyone about that incident; how did Noah know?

"Back then, you saved two boys, it was me and Cooper."

Yolanda was even more startled, "Those two brothers from back then... were you and Cooper?"

Noah nodded, "Yes. I never thought I’d meet you after returning to the country. So, I’ve been helping you not just because you are Cooper’s wife, or just because of the baby, but also to repay the debt of gratitude from back then."

Yolanda gave a wry smile as memories of those days started coming back.

After saving them, she had been in a coma in the hospital for a long time. When she woke up, she faced scolding and disdain from Eliana Reed and Third Greenwood.

They called her brainless and as dumb as a pig, told her she could never be a mother, that she was a disgrace to the Greenwood family.

That event had haunted Yolanda’s nightmares for a long time.

She was only four years old then. She had saved people, but no one had thanked or praised her.

Later, Yolanda forced herself to forget about the incident and never mentioned it again.

She had not expected, so many years later...

Yolanda looked at Noah with a touched expression, "Back then, why didn’t you come to see me in the hospital?"

"I’m sorry, Yolanda," Noah lowered his head, hiding his emotions, "Something happened in the Coldson Family back then... I’m really sorry."

Yolanda shook her head with a sad smile, "It’s alright, it’s all in the past."

No one knew how she had managed to get through that period; looking back, she probably had depression.

She remembered thinking most often that she should not have survived, that she should have died.

Along with Cooper, along with Noah.

"Yolanda," sensing her sadness, Noah cautiously asked, "What happened back then?"

Yolanda simply shook her head, "It’s nothing."

She deliberately changed the subject, "How did you recognize me?"

Noah pointed behind his ear, "I remember you had a small mole there."

He smiled sheepishly, "Actually, I wasn’t completely sure, but now I believe it was you."

"Does Cooper know?" Yolanda asked further.

Noah paused for a moment, "Do you want him to know?"

He thought a little before adding, "Maybe if he knew, he wouldn’t divorce you. Do you want me to tell him?"

"No!" Yolanda’s response was crisp and decisive.

She had had enough of a loveless marriage and did not want Cooper to stay with her out of gratitude.

She looked earnestly at Noah, "Big brother, please don’t tell Cooper about this."

"But..." Noah started to say that Cooper was marrying Melissa Greenwood because he mistook Melissa for the little girl from back then.

However, just then, wails sounded from outside.

Soon, the door was pushed open, and it was Mrs. Ross from the Ross Family again.

Ruby Ross and Lola Gold couldn’t stop her; she rushed in like a madwoman, knelt in front of the sickbed.

"Miss Yolanda, please, spare my George; he’s ill and can’t stay in the hospital anymore, please have mercy!"

Yolanda looked puzzledly towards Lola.

Lola stepped forward, lowering her voice next to her ear, "It seems they say George Ross’s heart is weak; he had an attack inside."

She then turned to the old lady, "Grandma, there are family laws and national laws. George Ross has committed a crime, and how the court and the police handle him is out of our control, please go back."

Ruby Ross tried to pull the old lady away, "Yes, Mom, please go back."

"Get out of my way!" The old lady shoved Ruby Ross aside.

Luckily, Noah was quick to catch Ruby, allowing her to sit aside.

The old lady continued to kowtow to Yolanda, "I’ve consulted with a lawyer, they said if you write a letter of forgiveness, or say you and George were boyfriend and girlfriend, and there was a misunderstanding, then our George would be free."

Yolanda’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Lola was utterly infuriated, "Old lady, have you gone mad? If you were drugged yesterday, would you easily forgive the person who did it?"

The old lady was stunned for a moment, then asserted herself again, "I’m different from you. You were in Gray City, meant to be someone’s mistress. Are you suing our George just because he doesn’t have as much money?"

Lola staggered, her face visibly paling.

"Lola..." Yolanda looked worriedly at her.

"Get out!" Just then, Ruby, who had been very weak, suddenly stood up and screamed, "Get out, I don’t have a mother like you, Lola doesn’t have a grandmother like you."

The old lady was startled, clearly not expecting Ruby to react this way.

"You ungrateful wretch, I’m your mother, George is your brother, how can you be so heartless?"
