Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Your Boyfriend Spoils You Too Much, Doesn’t He?
"Big brother," Yolanda Greenwood smiled wearily, "Let’s forget about me and Cooper Coldson."
She was truly tired and didn’t want to give Cooper the chance to hurt her anymore.
"Yolanda, listen to your big brother, Cooper told me about today’s incident." Noah Coldson looked at Yolanda with sympathy, "He didn’t expect Melissa Greenwood to show up."
Yet, Yolanda felt far from happy.
She gave a bitter laugh, "What does it matter? Even if he had known, would he have stopped her?"
"..." Noah paused for a moment then immediately said, "Yolanda, that’s exactly where Melissa’s trickery lies, you must not fall for her schemes."
"Trickery? You can see it? Can’t Cooper see it?" Yolanda truly felt heartbroken.
All along, it wasn’t that she couldn’t beat Melissa, it was that Cooper always sided with Melissa.
"Yolanda, trust me, give Cooper another chance, and give the child in your belly a chance too," Noah implored earnestly.
Yolanda remained silent.
She suddenly thought of something, if she had to divorce Cooper, what would Noah do?
Would this considerate big brother of hers agree to let her keep the child?
After thinking, she agreed to Noah’s request.
She didn’t dare to gamble.
"Big brother, then you promise me, if it still doesn’t work out, let me and the child leave. We’ll guarantee to leave Gray City and never appear in front of the Coldson Family again."
Noah tugged the corner of his mouth but didn’t answer Yolanda’s question.
It was past nine in the evening when Lola Gold finally came back.
"Lola, why did you come back so late?" Yolanda asked with worry, "Why didn’t you answer when I called you? And you didn’t reply to my texts?"
"Sorry!" Lola Gold appeared even more tired than Yolanda, and she hugged Yolanda, "I went to visit my mom today."
"How is your mom?" Yolanda asked with concern.
"She’s fine." Lola stretched lazily, "I’m so tired, Yolanda, I’ll head to bed first. You should sleep early too."
"Okay." Yolanda nodded, and with worry, she confirmed again, "You’re really okay, right?"
"I’m fine, I’m good," Lola hugged Yolanda again and then went to her room.
Yolanda always felt that something was off with Lola, but with so much that had happened, even the strongest people need time to heal.
Two days later, it was time for Yolanda’s prenatal checkup, and Noah arrived early.
"Ah, if Cooper was half as reliable as his brother," Lola couldn’t help but curse Cooper again.
"It’s alright, my big brother is like this because I’m carrying a Coldson child in my belly."
Yolanda gave a bitter smile, then asked Lola, "You’re really not going to go?"
"I won’t, maybe next time. I’ll take turns with big brother to accompany you, hehe..." Lola saw her out to the lobby.
Yolanda got in the car, and they headed to the hospital.
Noah had contacted the best obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Gray City, clearly taking these children very seriously.
Once there, all the checkups went smoothly, and when it was time to get the results, Noah accompanied Yolanda to see the doctor.
"Your baby’s development is too slow, are you still dieting?" the doctor asked sternly.
Yolanda quickly shook her head, "No, I just don’t have much of an appetite sometimes..."
"She has severe morning sickness, doctor, what can we do about her condition?" Noah unexpectedly spoke up.
The doctor glanced at Noah, and her attitude softened significantly, "Morning sickness is related to personal constitution. As family members, cook some food that the expectant mother would like, and keep her mood stable. I’ll prescribe some medication for you; make sure she takes it on time."
Lastly, she added, "You must come for the prenatal checks on time, your situation is not optimistic."
Yolanda turned pale at this.
Afterwards, Noah was the one busy with everything; by the time they were done, it was noon.
In the car, Yolanda still looked deeply troubled; she could not afford to lose these babies.
"Yolanda, what do you want to eat?" Noah asked her proactively.
Yolanda shook her head; she felt down and really had no appetite.
"Yolanda, you heard what the doctor said, you’re not eating enough," Noah said and then made a phone call.
Listening from the side, Yolanda heard Noah asking where in Gray City the food was good.
She clearly heard someone teasing him on the other end.
"I say, Captain, you’ve only been back in the country for a few days, eh? Got your eye on some young beauty? Come on, let’s help you put in some effort."
"Cut the crap, send me the address and phone number." Noah hung up, smiling awkwardly at Yolanda, "Old buddies from overseas, they don’t mince words, please don’t mind."
"It’s fine," Yolanda shook her head, even though she knew Noah was doing all this for the baby, she still sincerely smiled, "Thank you."
The other side quickly sent over several restaurant addresses, Noah handed his phone to Yolanda.
"Look them up, see which one you want to eat at."
"Any is fine, don’t go through so much trouble," Yolanda said, feeling embarrassed, "Let’s just go to the nearest one then."
"Okay." Noah chuckled, "If there’s a chance, we can try them all in the future."
Yolanda gently put Noah’s phone down, she always felt that a phone was a very private item, she had never even casually looked through Lola’s phone.
Today, Noah just handed his phone to her, this man... she didn’t know if he was too straightforward or too open.
Yolanda quietly glanced at Noah’s profile; maybe it was because he trained abroad for many years, but his skin was darker than Cooper’s, a healthy wheat color that made you think of sunshine.
And his facial features were sharp—when he wasn’t smiling, he had a commanding presence that would make any villain want to run.
The Coldson Family indeed had handsome men, whether it was Old Master Coldson, Christopher Coldson, or these two brothers, all were truly dashing.
But if you considered their personalities, you would think Noah was the most reliable and trustworthy.
Yolanda couldn’t help recalling what Old Master Coldson had said, about how Noah decisively left home when he was six years old, a behavior that seemed hard to link to the man before her.
They soon arrived at the restaurant, still with a large private room, Noah ordered plenty of dishes, as if he wanted to find out Yolanda’s preferences.
Yolanda was amused and kept trying to stop him, "Big brother, that’s too much, really too much, no more."
"It’s fine," Noah said nonchalantly, "We can take leftovers home, don’t worry, nothing will be wasted."
"That’s plenty." Yolanda looked exasperated.
The waiter smiled and said, "Miss, you are so lucky, your boyfriend is considering everything for you, he spoils you so much."
