Chapter 104 You’re Not Still Deluding Yourself About Cooper, Are You?

Chapter 104: Chapter 104 You’re Not Still Deluding Yourself About Cooper, Are You?

"Yolanda Greenwood!" Cooper Coldson abruptly stood up, cutting off Yolanda’s words.

Step by step he walked over, seemingly at the limits of his patience, and the air was filled with a dangerous aura.

Yolanda also stood up, feeling a surge of fear as she stepped back, always trying to maintain a safe distance from Cooper.

"Do you want to know the answer?" he asked with a cold voice.

"Go on," Yolanda still sounded somewhat lacking in confidence, "I would love to hear your explanation."

"What do you want to hear?" The man sneered, his eyes full of disdain. "Hear me say that I’ve taken a fancy to you? That I can’t help myself?"

Yolanda dared not even think it; just hearing it made her heart race, and she felt like she was going to pass out.

She swallowed, not yet sure what to say, when the door of the private room opened.

"Miss Greenwood, please come in!" The waiter stepped aside with a strange look at Yolanda.

Then Melissa Greenwood came in, hugging a large teddy bear, "Cooper, Yolanda, am I late?"

Cooper and Yolanda looked at her, a hint of surprise flashing through both of their eyes.

The door to the room quickly closed, and Cooper glanced at Yolanda before returning to his seat.

"Yolanda, I really owe you thanks for last night." Melissa, seeing Yolanda frozen in place, felt a surge of triumph. "It’s all Cooper’s fault—he was feeling unwell but was too reserved to tell me, and it ended up bothering you."

She stuffed the teddy bear into Yolanda’s arms. "This is for you; I guessed that Cooper, the straightforward guy he is, would only think to provide a meal and not a gift."

Yolanda was holding the bear blankly, her ears buzzing.

"Please sit down," Melissa said as she sat down close to Cooper. "Cooper, have you finished eating? Why so little?"

Cooper’s gaze swept over Yolanda’s pale face before looking at Melissa. "I’m not much hungry."

"Alright then, next time you feel unwell, remember to tell me and not bother Yolanda again," Melissa started to act coquettishly.

Cooper didn’t say anything.

"You all go ahead and eat." Yolanda stood up, leaving the teddy bear to the side. "I’ve had enough, I’ll be going back first."

She felt if she stayed any longer, she would be more ridiculous than a buffoon.

"Won’t you eat a bit more?" Melissa stood up and, seeing Yolanda heading out, she immediately said to Cooper, "Cooper, I’ll walk Yolanda out."

Yolanda hurried along, eager to get away from Melissa.

But how could Melissa pass up this opportunity to humiliate Yolanda? She practically ran after her.

"Yolanda Greenwood, stop right there!" Melissa called out once they were outside the restaurant.

Yolanda didn’t want to respond; she felt everyone inside was watching her, and it was too embarrassing.

Melissa ran up to her and grabbed her. "What are you running for? Ashamed of doing something so lowly?"

"I think you’ve misunderstood," Yolanda said, holding back her tears. "It was Cooper who invited me. If you’re unhappy, you can go find him."

"Ha ha ha..." Melissa laughed uproariously. "Yolanda, be real. I sent that text, I found this place. You don’t still harbor any hopes for your relationship with him, do you?"

Yolanda clenched her teeth—so all of today was just a setup by Melissa to humiliate her. Did Cooper know about it?

A bitter smile crossed her heart—how could Cooper possibly not know?

Only she, the fool, was kept in the dark.

Suddenly feeling extreme nausea, she gagged and quickly ran to the side.

"Ugh!" Melissa followed, looking at her with disgust. "What, you find yourself disgusting?"

"Melissa Greenwood!" Yolanda looked at her with fury. "No matter how disgusting I am, I’m not as disgusting as you."

"Really?" Melissa Greenwood looked Yolanda up and down. "Tsk tsk, you even put on makeup and wore a dress on purpose. Who are you trying to seduce?"

She was truly furious. "Yolanda, have some shame and stay away from Cooper, or what happened today will just be an appetizer."

Yolanda took out a tissue and wiped the corner of her mouth.

She had just vomited out the steak she swallowed, and now her stomach felt like a churning river, unbearable to the extent.

She thought she would never want to eat steak again.

"How disgusting!" Melissa scorned, then strutted her hips and walked away.

Yolanda leaned weakly against the wall, tears dripping down unconsciously.

Melissa was right; she really was despicable, still harboring fantasies about Cooper Coldson, deserving of humiliation.

When Melissa returned to the restaurant, she saw Cooper standing at the entrance.

She hurriedly ran up to him, "Cooper, are you going back? Could you drop me off..."

"Did you do this on purpose today?" Cooper’s face didn’t look too good.

"What do you mean by ’on purpose’?" Melissa’s eyes reddened a bit. "The ex-wife of my future husband is trying in every way to get close to him; should I just let them be alone and ignore it?"

"You’re overthinking it," Cooper said and walked away with long strides.

Melissa immediately followed him, "Am I overthinking it? Cooper, you still don’t understand the cunning of a woman’s heart."

She couldn’t help asking him, "You got drunk, and I didn’t even know about it. How could she know? And to take care of you in the middle of the night, what is she planning?"

Indeed, Cooper had never considered why Yolanda would come.

"Cooper," Melissa stepped forward to stop him, "Cooper, I beg you, don’t keep entangling with Yolanda. Could it be that... you have feelings for her?"

"How could that be?" Cooper immediately denied, "Rest assured, what happened last night won’t happen again."

"Cooper, I knew it, you wouldn’t let me down," Melissa moved forward, intending to embrace Cooper’s waist.

Cooper stepped back to avoid her. "Enough, don’t make a scene. I have to go back to the office. Where are you headed? I’ll drop you off first."

Yolanda returned home, spiritless and disheartened. Lola Gold was not there; she threw herself onto the couch, her mood hitting rock bottom.

Noah Coldson called several times, but she didn’t pick up.

Just as she was dozing off, she heard a knock on the door.

Mustering up her energy, she got up to open it, only to find Noah there, holding several takeout delicacies.

"I bought two beef buns..." Before Noah could finish, he saw Yolanda was covering her mouth and rushing to the bathroom.

After placing the items down, he immediately followed her, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Everything in Yolanda’s stomach had been vomited out, and now she was retching up bile.

She felt unbearable discomfort. "Big brother, take the beef buns to Lola’s room; I don’t want to eat. I can’t stand the smell."

"Sure." Noah hurried to take care of it. Actually, he hadn’t just bought beef buns but also other beef-flavored items, because the last time they ate together, he noticed that Yolanda really enjoyed beef.

Thinking to himself how quickly a pregnant woman’s taste can change, he quickly disposed of everything.

"Okay, it’s all put away; you can come out now."

Yolanda smiled apologetically, "Sorry about that."

"No problem," Noah shook his head. "What would you like to eat? I’ll go buy it for you."

"No need," Yolanda immediately declined. "Take a seat, big brother. Let’s just talk."
