Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Aren’t You the One with the Most Self-Control and No Desires?

"Miss, how many are in your party? Do you have a reservation?" the waitress approached with a smile.

"I think so, can you check for Mr. Coldson?" Yolanda Greenwood tentatively reported Cooper Coldson’s name.

"Mr. Coldson, is it?" the waitress quickly found the reservation. "Miss, please come inside—this gentleman has reserved our best private room for you. Please, come this way."

Yolanda nodded her head. She wasn’t surprised; Cooper’s status would definitely secure the most expensive room.

"Miss, you are Mr. Coldson’s girlfriend, right?" the waitress asked with envy. "You’re really lucky—Mr. Coldson must really love you."

Yolanda shyly lowered her head. "Actually... I’m Mr. Coldson’s wife."

"Oh, I didn’t recognize you," the waitress looked Yolanda up and down. "It’s mainly because you look so young; you don’t look like you’re married at all."

Yolanda just smiled and said nothing.

After the waitress had shown her to the private room, she left, and there were still ten minutes until the appointed time. Cooper hadn’t arrived yet.

Yolanda looked around the room. It was spacious and decorated with a lot of ambiance—she hadn’t expected Cooper to know about a place like this.

Perhaps... had he been here with Melissa Greenwood before?

The possibility dampened Yolanda’s earlier excitement by half.

At that moment, the door to the room opened, and the voice of the same waitress came clearly, "Mr. Coldson is really good to his wife—is there a special occasion today? Our boss wants to send you some little surprises later."

Yolanda awkwardly stood up, wishing she could jump out the window and disappear immediately.

She soon saw Cooper’s expressionless face.

Fortunately, Cooper just looked at her with a nonchalant smile, without refuting the waitress’s words.

"Would you like to order now?" The waitress instinctively looked toward Yolanda.

Sitting down nervously, Yolanda kept her eyes on Cooper, not daring to take the lead.

Remarkably, Cooper elegantly wiped his hands and, unexpectedly, said, "You order."

Yolanda’s eyes widened in surprise. Knowing him for so long, she had never seen him relinquish control.

Moreover, he was extremely picky about his food. Back when she was a free housekeeper in the villa, he would routinely place orders for meals.

But today, he was letting her order?

It seemed the sun had risen from the west.

The waitress quickly handed the menu to Yolanda and recommended some signature dishes.

Knowing Cooper’s taste well, Yolanda first ordered some dishes he would like, then ordered two steaks for herself.

Lately, she had a strange craving for steaks.

"You don’t like beef, do you?" Cooper suddenly chimed in.

Yolanda was taken aback again.

With a light chuckle, the waitress added, "Madam is indeed fortunate; Mr. Coldson is both handsome and considerate. He remembers your preferences so clearly."

"Hehe..." Yolanda gave a dry laugh and handed the menu back to the waitress. "Please serve the dishes as I ordered just now."

The waitress soon left.

Yolanda looked at the man across the table, debating whether to start a conversation.

Cooper continued to browse his phone, seemingly aware of the gaze from across the table. Unexpectedly, he took the initiative.

"Changing your taste?"

"Not really!" Yolanda was genuinely curious. "By the way, how did you know I don’t like beef?"

"Yolanda," Cooper put down his phone, looking at her disdainfully, "after all, we’ve shared a dining table for a year; isn’t it easy to notice such a small detail?"

Was it easy?

Yolanda couldn’t help but mentally retort: she truly never knew Cooper had ever paid attention to her, perhaps it was just a businessman’s habit.

They fell silent again.

Cooper actually wanted to thank Yolanda for her care last night, but before he could express his gratitude, he remembered his embarrassing behavior and hesitated, not wanting to remind her.

Watching the man across from her, Yolanda saw his neck and ears gradually turn red as if... Just like last night when he was in heat.

Remembering last night, Yolanda also felt embarrassed and promptly took out her phone to distract herself.

The restaurant served the food quickly, and when the waitress returned, the entire private room seemed filled with awkward, charged undertones.

The boss had sent red wine and dessert, which the waitress set down before nodding quickly at them and briskly departing.

That speed... as if she was afraid of interrupting something indecent.

Yolanda, smelling the steak, felt her appetite surge and soon began eating happily, couldn’t help but praise, "The chef here is really good."

Cooper snorted and slowly began to eat.

Seeing Yolanda swiftly finish one steak, Cooper couldn’t help but comment, "Eating so fast, you’ll end up with gastritis!"

"Aren’t you the one who practices silence during meals?" Yolanda retorted as she ate.

Exaggeration aside, they had eaten at the same dining table for a year, and it was always she, Yolanda, who tried to initiate conversations, only to be met with Cooper’s silence throughout the meal!

Cooper set down his chopsticks with an air of finality, "I’m done eating."

"Done already?" Yolanda looked at the dishes on the table; of the five dishes, Cooper had barely touched two or three. "Wasting food is shameful."

"I’ll take the leftovers home," she continued eating.

"Suit yourself," Cooper said dismissively, looking around. "Do you girls like this kind of place?"

Yolanda purposely acted indifferent, "It’s okay, probably younger girls might like it better. In my view, it’s all flash and no substance."

"Yolanda," Cooper showed that semi-smiling expression again, looking in a good mood, "do you know what ’all flash and no substance’ translates to in another way?"

"What?" Yolanda had a bad feeling.

Sure enough, Cooper chuckled softly, "It means you’re poor."

"You!" Yolanda fumed, "Right, compared to the Patriarch of the Coldson Family, who isn’t poor? But Cooper, aren’t you going too far? Isn’t today’s meal meant to thank me? How can you mock me like this?"

"Thank you for what?" Cooper stood his ground.

"What did you say?" Yolanda pressed further, "If it hadn’t been for me last night, someone might have ended up well-cooked by now. How could he still be sitting here mocking others?"

"You’re overthinking it; I was fine last night, and nothing would have happened even if you hadn’t shown up," Cooper continued stubbornly.

"Nothing would have happened?" Yolanda laughed out of frustration, "Who was so delirious from the fever that he wouldn’t let go of me..."

She regretted her words halfway through.

Cooper’s face turned frighteningly dark, "Yolanda, you took advantage of me last night. What’s there to be proud of?"

"Me, taking advantage of you?" Yolanda couldn’t stand it any longer.

"Cooper, don’t you find yourself ridiculous? The first two times, you claimed you were drugged, but no one drugged you last night, right?"

"What does holding onto me imply?"

"And you kissed me, tore at my clothes, and made it seem like something was going to happen. What was that about?"

"Aren’t you the one who claims to have no desires? How come? A bit of wine and your true nature shows?"
