Chapter 1356 - 1360: Money Tree

Chapter 1356: Chapter 1360: Money Tree

The Weaver Star flew out of the Daoist Temple, chasing toward the higher grounds of Mount Luoxiang. Meanwhile, Zhu Minglang found himself facing far more than just Sixth Lady. Soon, the entire Daoist Temple was alarmed, swiftly encircling Zhu Minglang so tightly that not even water could seep through.

"Escape into the Illusive Mountain!"

The Daoist nuns all shouted in unison, and instantly, the nearby walls, courtyards, fences, stone paths, trees, and gazebos underwent heavy distortion. It was as if a fierce storm had swept through, demolishing every scene within the Daoist Temple and violently twisting them together. Finally, it formed an assemblage of shattered fragments—a chaotic illusion.

At that moment, Zhu Minglang was pulled into this surreal space of flying debris—the fractured remains of Luoxiang Daoist Temple—as if he had unwittingly stepped into a Ghost Domain. This realm, destroyed a thousand years ago, only revealed its former glory and prosperity under flashes of lightning and roaring thunder.

Perhaps this was the Daoist Temple’s true face all along. As Zhu Minglang had anticipated, within the shattered domain of the temple, ghostly demonic fox spirits with bulging claws and fangs began closing in on him...

Half of these ghostly demonic fox spirits bore human faces while the other half were fox-faced.

And some of the spirits had appearances far from the rumored elegance and allure. Instead, they were decayed, bloodied, resembling the grotesque aftermath of a forest fire—a horrific state of living beings transformed into restless ghosts haunting this space for centuries!

Sixth Lady revealed her true form at this moment—human body, fox face, and tails more dexterous than human arms. Each of her tails wielded a weapon: bone-cleaving knives, meat hooks, chest-splitting axes, heart-excavating claws, and iron-spiked chains...

Judging by her shadow, one might mistake her for a multi-armed deity, but her grotesque and horrifying visage unsettled even the so-called Guardian King who claimed a fondness for fairies. He couldn’t maintain his composure, retreating backwards repeatedly, unable to accept the shocking truth before him!

"Brother, your taste is way too extreme. How did you even muster the courage back then?" Zhu Minglang, far from flinching, teased the Guardian King in the midst of chaos.

"Immortal Brother, save me! I promise a generous reward!" The Guardian King, upon recognizing Zhu Minglang, pleaded desperately.

"Chongwang Dragon, settle them!" Zhu Minglang’s face lit up with a grin at the mention of a reward.

It’s said that true immortals disdain wealth. Yet, in the Guardian King’s eyes, this young immortal appeared oddly partial to riches.

Fortunately for them, the Wei Dynasty might lack many things, but wealth wasn’t one of them.

"Immortal Brother, there are many more behind us..." The Guardian King shuddered as he spoke.

"You’re not even trying—you’re a cultivator, aren’t you?" Zhu Minglang chided, knowing the Guardian King wasn’t just some simple mortal.

"Even with cultivation, I’m just an embroidered pillow," the Guardian King admitted.

Zhu Minglang was speechless. A monarch who openly flaunted his ineptitude and even likened himself to a decorative pillow—truly one of a kind.

"Little Xian Tail, safeguard this living money tree." Zhu Minglang summoned the Nine-tailed Dragon.

With the Nine-tailed Dragon now present, the Guardian King finally felt a shred of security.

He had initially thought Sixth Lady genuinely intended to cultivate alongside him in the serene mountain but had been lured straight into the lair of fox demons. If not for Zhu Minglang’s timely arrival, he might already have been reduced to a desiccated corpse.

"Wooooooo!!!!"

The Nine-tailed Dragon, having just mastered its Shang Mei Fox Fire, raised its head, fur billowing as it unleashed its overwhelming flame-filled aura—the Fox Yin Fire.

The figures encircling them in the Daoist Temple were all ghostly fox gods. The fact that they could take human forms and beguile mortals indicated their cultivation bases were formidable. All at once, these ghostly fox gods ignited their own fox fires, countering the Nine-tailed Dragon.

But the fox fire of the Nine-tailed Dragon was exceptionally domineering. Even the combined flames of dozens of ghostly fox gods couldn’t compare to the Nine-tailed Dragon’s Shang Mei fire. Although both were yin fires, the ghostly fox gods were tormented and howled in agony under its scorching blaze!

Meanwhile, Sixth Lady—entangled with the Chongwang Dragon—was evidently the leader of the ghostly fox spirits. She began issuing commands, instructing her fox gods to collectively deploy demonic fox arts, attempting to conjure an even more horrific Ghost Domain!

However, being a member of the fox clan itself, the Nine-tailed Dragon was equally skilled in illusions and enchantments.

With a long, mournful cry toward the moon, the Nine-tailed Dragon emitted a radiance reminiscent of divine moonlight, dispersing the vile mists along the riverbank. Not only did the ghostly fox gods fail to drag Zhu Minglang into a deeper layer of illusory Ghost Domain, but everything was revealed in its true form—including the entirety of the Luoxiang Daoist Temple, which, in reality, was constructed atop a pile of ancient graves!!

Scattered across hills and plains were countless ancient graves amid crumbling ruins—a place that once drew thousands of devotees, now exposed as a forgery of a serene sanctuary. The pristine facade of the Daoist Temple was torn away, revealing grimy, dilapidated walls!

The pilgrims were left utterly unable to process this reality. One after another, they panicked and fled downhill, while some hired actors—paid to promote the Daoist Temple—fainted on the spot. This revelation was especially devastating for those stonemasons who secretly harbored illicit ties with the Daoist nuns!

A sacred yet extravagant Daoist Temple atop a mountain brimming with horrifying ancient graves—such a scene would unsettle anyone. Who knows how many people had vanished into thin air over the years, likely buried beneath this demonic temple!

Evil remains evil—it devours humans without sparing their bones. After a heated clash, mountains cracked, forests withered, and numerous fresh corpses suddenly rolled out from beneath the thick soil. These individuals had all died gruesome deaths—most missing their eyeballs, tongues, and hearts—creating an appallingly gruesome scene.

Initially, Zhu Minglang had thought these fox spirits within the temple had ascended somewhat beyond mere flesh-or bone-devouring demon ranks. Yet, it turned out they used their clan’s enchantment techniques and ghostly sorcery to obscure their atrocities within the guise of an immortal’s Daoist Temple!

How many people had these creatures eaten exactly??

The Guardian King was utterly petrified by the horrifying revelation!

These demon immortals were nothing more than indiscriminate human-eaters!

Had he agreed to their demands to establish holy temples for them within the prosperous capital of Wei Dynasty, who knows how many skeletal remains would have been buried under those sacred halls!

A demon cannot change its evil nature—even when it ascends to immortality!!

"Little Glutton, devour them and let them experience the humiliation of dissolving bit by bit inside someone else’s stomach!" Enraged, Zhu Minglang spared no mercy and summoned the Gluttonous Lunar Eclipse Dragon!

Not a single fox ghost deity from this Daoist Temple could be allowed to return to the mountain!

Little Glutton finally received permission to feast—its favorite delicacy was raw flesh and blood!

It didn’t join the heated battle between the Chongwang Dragon and Nine-tailed Dragon but instead hovered high in the air, keeping watch. Whenever a ghost fox deity attempted to escape, it promptly inhaled them into its maw and began savoring them, chew by deliberate chew!!

Delicious. This den of fox ghosts was tender and fragrant, devoured without leaving even a trace of fur!
