The seven followed Wang Tianyu to the edge of the tree. He extended his right hand, and a cluster of green light shimmered in his palm.

Lan Xuanyu immediately felt a strange spatial fluctuation. The next instant, a pale green portal quietly opened. Unlike the one at the Eternal Tree’s core, this portal lacked a strong pulling force, but it exuded a natural aura.

Whether it was the Sea God Pavilion or this place, both were stable subspaces created with the Eternal Tree’s support. Thanks to this, Shrek Academy was at the forefront of the Federation in spatial technology research.

Lan Xuanyu now knew of at least three such subspaces, including the Seven Sacred Abyss.

They entered in a single file.

A refreshing air greeted them. As they stepped into this unique space, their first sensation was that every pore on their body seemed to open. A faint, fragrant scent carried a mysterious energy that flowed through their pores and nourished them.

What they saw was a small hill beside a lake of crystal-clear water, stretching beyond sight.

On the slope and lakeside were people either sitting or lying down leisurely. Their skin and hair colors varied.

Noticing their arrival, some of them turned to look.

When they saw Wang Tianyu leading Lan Xuanyu and his group, they seemed excited and quickly gathered around.

"Wow, the Academy finally decided to send someone! I was bored to death. Pick me, pick me!" A young man with pale green skin joyfully rushed forward.

But he was immediately snagged by a red whip from a red-haired, blue-eyed woman behind him and pulled back. “Can’t you show a little restraint? You’re embarrassing us all.”

"What’s your problem? Like you don’t want to leave too! Let me go. You’re so annoying!"

The others began chatting, and the earlier tranquility vanished.

Wang Tianyu was clearly used to this. He said to the seven, "These seniors are all heavenly treasures, each with a different origin. Most come from the Tang Sect's Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. After they gained human form through cultivation, they were transferred here. A purple-haired young woman exclaimed in surprise, "Oh? What kind of merit did they achieve for the Academy to allow all seven of them to come and choose? Since when has the Academy been so generous?"

Wang Tianyu said, "Indeed, they made great contributions. If any of you are interested, feel free to wait and be selected."

While they conversed, Lan Xuanyu quietly observed. There were over a hundred men and women nearby, with sixty to seventy now gathered in front of them. Some others remained farther away.

Lan Xuanyu was utterly shocked. To attain human form, one needed at least 100,000 years of cultivation. This meant that every being here was over 100,000 years old. Immortal herbs could be considered plant-type soul beasts! While not all were suited for battle, they were certainly comparable to soul beasts of the same level.

Shrek Academy’s foundation was far deeper than they had imagined.

Elder Jin, seemingly the leader, said to Wang Tianyu, “Let the young ones show us what they can do.”

Wang Tianyu nodded and looked at Lan Xuanyu.

Lan Xuanyu subtly signaled, “Frenzie, you go first.” He himself had no intention of choosing a heavenly treasure. Although the Academy hadn’t said anything, and Tang Wulin hadn’t explained, he had seen the surface of the Life Lake drop when he left—clearly linked to his breakthrough. What he had received far surpassed any heavenly treasure, so he wouldn’t take more. Plus, he didn’t want to reveal his aura. He feared a repeat of what happened on Senluo Planet, and he was confident in how much attraction he could generate.

“Alright.” Liu Feng stepped forward. As he walked, one soul ring after another rose beneath his feet.

Grasping his White Dragon King Spear, a deep dragon roar rang out. The spear glowed, and strange spatial fluctuations pulsed around him, making his surroundings appear distorted, as though he could slip through space at any moment.

“Greetings, seniors. I am Liu Feng. My martial soul is the mutated White Dragon King Spear, and I possess a beast Spirit Soul—Thorny Dragon.”

With a flash of silver light, a ten-meter-long Thorny Dragon appeared beside him, letting out a deep growl. The surrounding spatial fluctuations instantly intensified.

Many of the 100,000-year-old immortal herbs nodded and showed eager interest.

Elder Jin turned to the group. “Those willing to go with him, step forward.”

Immediately, over a dozen stepped out, including the green-skinned youth from before.

Elder Jin said, “The Immortal Spirit Land is perfect for our cultivation, but reaching god-level remains extremely difficult. Since we’ve attained human form, we also long to travel, to see the world outside—especially other planets. However, without sufficient life energy to sustain ourselves, our own energy would dissipate. Therefore, we are more willing to become Spirit Soul companions, forming equal contracts and bonding our lives with yours. Once you reach god level, we can ascend as well and may then separate from you—provided there is a source capable of sustaining our god-level forms. Until then, your chosen plant-type soul partners will stay with you. This is our agreement with the Academy.”
