Chapter 1043: Bloodline Furnace
TL: GoldenLung
“Alright.” Lan Xuanyu took out all the Magic Silver he had brought back and handed it over to Tang Wulin.
Tang Wulin said, “You’ve just had a breakthrough—take some time to feel the changes in your body. Your teammates are waiting for you in Sky City. Rest for a day and then come back to me. I’ll help you get familiar with your new abilities.”
“Okay.” Lan Xuanyu agreed, handing the Space Worm to Tang Wulin. With a wave of his hand, Tang Wulin vanished along with the Space Worm and the Magic Silver.
Lan Xuanyu’s breakthrough this time had come at a great cost to the academy—one could even say it had drained a significant amount of life energy from the Mother Planet. But the Space Worm he brought back was enough to make up for all of it.
The Space Worm had made the Spaceborne Clan one of the top ten races in the entire Dragon Horse Galaxy. More importantly, it was a source of spatial origin energy. In the human world, its potential was far greater than what it had been among the Spaceborne Clan!
If the Spaceborne Clan could use it to cultivate True God-level space attribute experts, what could Shrek Academy achieve with it?
Tang Wulin departed, and naturally Lan Xuanyu had no reason to stay. He left the Sea God Pavilion and, communicating with the surrounding life energy through his consciousness, was effortlessly transported out of the Life Lake area to the Eternal Sky City outside.
Breathing in the fresh air and looking at the misty clouds, Lan Xuanyu felt completely renewed.
He hadn’t expected this breakthrough to be so quick and smooth. Although it was still painful, the pain wasn’t as intense as before.Compared to before, both his spiritual power and soul power had advanced by leaps and bounds. He hadn’t yet tested his combat strength, but he could already feel the changes within.
In Eternal Sky City, his spiritual power could easily extend throughout the entire place. The only areas he couldn’t fully probe seemed to be shielded by powerful opposing spiritual forces. Anyone with weaker spiritual power than his was completely within his perception.
He looked toward the great tree, and with a light tap of his toe on the ground, his body soared into the air. A faint dragon’s roar resonated from within him naturally.
He was surprised to find that his bloodline seemed to have awakened. The dragon roar emerging on its own meant he didn’t yet have complete control over his new abilities.
He landed silently in front of a wooden cabin and knocked on the door. The door opened, and Bai Xiuxiu poked her head out. When she saw Lan Xuanyu, her face immediately lit up with joy.
Lan Xuanyu moved closer, trying to give her a big hug.
Bai Xiuxiu was startled and instinctively tried to dodge. But for some reason, in that instant, her movements slowed—or perhaps it was that Lan Xuanyu moved too fast. She couldn’t react in time.
Lan Xuanyu was stunned as well. In that moment, he seemed to sense something. Was it spatial control? It seemed to go beyond that—perhaps a fusion with his spiritual power.
“You’re awful.”
Bai Xiuxiu playfully hit his chest with her fist. She could also feel that something about Lan Xuanyu had changed.
Lan Xuanyu smiled. “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”
“No way.” Bai Xiuxiu’s cheeks turned slightly red. She felt strangely overwhelmed—Lan Xuanyu now felt like a furnace. In front of him, she felt completely defenseless, her heart pounding uncontrollably.
“Everyone’s waiting for you to help pick out heavenly treasures. Let’s go quickly.” Bai Xiuxiu grabbed his hand and hurriedly took to the sky.
Lan Xuanyu asked in surprise, “What’s wrong, Xiuxiu? You seem a little scared of me.”
Bai Xiuxiu turned to look at him. “Can you read my mind?”
Lan Xuanyu shook his head. “Not exactly, but I can sense your emotional fluctuations.”
Bai Xiuxiu said, “I don’t know why, but your bloodline aura affects me very strongly.”
Lan Xuanyu suddenly understood. “I just had a breakthrough and haven’t fully mastered my strength. I’ll try to suppress it.”
As he spoke, he slowed the rotation of his bloodline vortex and used spiritual power to isolate the aura of the Dragon Core.
Bai Xiuxiu immediately relaxed, and the two of them landed on the plaza in front of the tree.
Lan Xuanyu moved his lips and said something toward the tree. Doors on several rooms in the tree opened, and their companions flew out one after another, landing on the plaza.
Before they arrived, Bai Xiuxiu leaned close to Lan Xuanyu’s ear and whispered, “Actually, your bloodline aura feels kind of nice. The Demon Empress said I should train with you from now on—it will help purify and strengthen my bloodline. But in normal times, please don’t let me feel it so intensely.”
By then, the group had landed in front of Lan Xuanyu. The moment they saw him, they all sensed that something had changed. Though he stood right there, he seemed like a mirage, as if he weren’t entirely real.
“Boss, did you break through?” Qian Lei looked at Lan Xuanyu curiously.
“You guessed it. Want to test it out?” Lan Xuanyu smiled. He and Qian Lei were the strongest in the group. After Qian Lei broke through to seven rings, his Golden Behemoth underwent a qualitative transformation, greatly boosting his strength. Before, Lan Xuanyu could barely fight him to a draw.
Qian Lei grinned. “Sure! I’ve been feeling super strong lately.” As he spoke, he extended his hand toward Lan Xuanyu.
Lan Xuanyu extended his right hand, and the two clasped hands and exerted force simultaneously.
A ferocious aura erupted from Qian Lei—that was the Golden Behemoth’s aura. At the same time, a dragon roar echoed from Lan Xuanyu.
Both powerful energies surged in their hands. In the next instant, Lan Xuanyu’s eyes turned into vertical pupils.
Qian Lei was nearly thrown backward immediately. He felt an overwhelming force suppress him entirely. The usual ferocity of the Golden Behemoth vanished in an instant. He even sensed the golden beast trembling—something that happened right after hearing the dragon’s roar.
Lan Xuanyu instantly withdrew his power, preventing Qian Lei from falling.
“So strong?” Qian Lei said in shock. “I couldn’t resist at all—not even for a second. Boss, your power is terrifying.”
Lan Xuanyu looked at his right hand. The golden scales on it had just faded. He wasn’t sure how strong he was now, but he felt a desire to tear space apart.
“Boss, your bloodline aura kind of scares me, but it also stirs up my own bloodline,” Liu Feng said. “Just now, when you exerted force, it felt like a huge furnace appeared, pulling me toward it.”
“I felt that too,” Bai Xiuxiu added.
Yuanen Huihui nodded. “Me too. My Illusory Elf Dragon seems both afraid of you and drawn to you.”
Lan Xuanyu pondered for a moment. He understood that this was likely because the three of them all had dragon-related bloodlines. Now that he had reached six rings, his Dragon God bloodline had grown stronger, with the Golden and Silver Dragon King bloodlines fusing more closely—releasing Dragon God aura that affected them.
“We’ll try cultivating together later. For now, let’s pick out some heavenly treasures. What did Pavilion Master Wang say?”
