Chapter 564: Chapter 563: Deceiving You, It’s Worth It

"Damn it!" The thug who had been knocked down struggled to get up. Taking advantage of a moment’s distraction, he grabbed a nearby half-full wine bottle from the ground and charged towards William Griffith again.

"William! Watch out!" Cherish Turner shouted in horror.

William turned his head, and the wine bottle was already being smashed towards his head. He quickly raised his other hand to block it. The bottle shattered on his hand, glass shards slicing through his flesh and embedding themselves painfully in his skin. The alcohol splashed onto his body, his face, and his black hair. He immediately raised his leg and kicked the man, sending him flying.

"Damn it!" The man hit the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Stop it! Be careful not to cause any trouble!" one of them shouted, turning to call the bartender.

The bartenders rushed over and pulled the thug away from William’s grasp.

"Get lost! Don’t ever show your face again!" The two people were beaten until they spat blood, clinging to each other and stumbling away.

"William! William!" Cherish Turner was panicked.

Cherish Turner sprinted to William’s side, looking worriedly at him to see if he was injured. His right hand had many small cuts from the glass shards, and the blood mixed with the alcohol looked horrific. The glass shards seemed to pierce her heart as well, making her eyes red with sorrow.

"Does it hurt? Shall I take you to the hospital? Or do you want to disinfect it first?" Cherish Turner became flustered, her little face in the snow unable to hide her anxiety and fear.

However, William hugged her tightly and said in a deep voice, "It’s just a small wound, it doesn’t hurt at all. Don’t worry."

"William, you’re lying! Lying! Lying!"

"Lying to you is worth it!" William grinned mischievously as he said this.

Snowflakes continued to fall, seemingly without end.

It was only then that he realized that the small grass had grown into a big tree, slowly taking root in his heart.

Rooted and growing stronger.

All of a sudden, William had gotten into a fight with the two thugs, beating them until they turned tail and fled. He was also caught off-guard, his right hand embedded with shattered glass, alcohol and blood mixing together, making the wound sticky. Still holding Cherish Turner tightly, he displayed an emotionally charged scene in front of everyone. The heavy rain continued to shower down, freezing this moment into a beautifully poignant picture.

The excitement died down, but the snow continued to fall.

The bartenders all went back into the bar, and some guests followed them inside. Only a few girls remained, yearning for romance and watching the rain with their boyfriends or friends.

"Alright, enough with the sappiness! Hurry to the hospital and get the wound treated. If it gets infected, it’s going to be a problem!"

Cherish Turner came back to her senses, supporting William, and said urgently, "William, let’s go to the hospital."

William didn’t refuse, letting her hold him as they walked. Since his right hand was injured, Cherish Turner wouldn’t let him drive, so they took a taxi to a nearby hospital. She still remembered the first time he firmly took her to the hospital to get her foot examined. Though he was taking her there, he awkwardly found excuses to get her ID card and even used work as an excuse.

At this moment, Cherish Turner stood in the surgical clinic, silently watching him and feeling the passage of time.

It seemed like he never went to the hospital; he never got any minor illnesses, his health had always been too good.

The only time he mentioned a toothache from a wisdom tooth growing, he still refused to go to the hospital.

"It’s nothing serious. I’ll prescribe you some medication, and a nurse will take care of your wound." The old doctor checked the wound, wrote the prescription, and then moved to the medical room next door.
