Chapter 563: Chapter 562: Treat Every Day as our Last Day Together
After dinner, the two of them didn’t drive back right away, but decided to take a walk instead.
It started raining outside, so they had to stand under the eaves.
Cherish Turner’s gaze was attracted by a figure standing not far away, illuminated by the dim yellow light shining down, which made his handsome face slightly blurred.
She was drawn to him involuntarily.
Amidst the rain, she looked at the cold, lonely, beautiful figure.
Cherish finally stood in front of him, and after a long silence, he said, "It’s raining."
"Yes."
"William," she choked out.
William Griffith looked at her quietly, as she took a deep breath and said softly, "Even if we don’t end up together in the end, I’m very happy."
If we ever part one day.
I will treat every day with you as if it were the last.
Under the dim street light, surrounded by laughter and noise from the crowd, the rain after the sweltering heat made the atmosphere poetic. Cherish stood in front of William, strong and stubborn, staring at him unblinkingly, always serious and quiet, like a small plant that will never be defeated by anything, growing proudly in the face of snow.
Watching her, he moved his lips, his sexy thin lips slightly parted, but he didn’t know what to say. Trying to embrace her, he found his hands seemed tied and unable to move.
Behind them, a few drunken men slowly approached, muttering unclear curses.
"Damn it, who’s making a fuss here? What a ghostly weather, nice at first, now pouring rain! What’s going on, got me covered! It’s really fucking upsetting!"
"It’s fucking upsetting! Lost all my bets. Did they cheat?"
"Who knows! Tomorrow, we’ll bring weapons and find out!"
Two ruffians staggered forward, cursing all the way. Seeing the pair standing under the street light, the man was so tall that they couldn’t see his face, and the woman was small and seemed easy prey for their taunts.
One of them whistled, and an unclean question came out, "Little girl, are you working the street?"
Cherish was dazed for a moment and didn’t understand. Working the street?
"How much for a night?" The man stepped closer and continued.
With an icy face, William suddenly turned around, scaring everyone with his rapid movements. Blinking, he grabbed the cursing ruffian, blustering a punch. The sudden fight left Cherish stunned.
Seeing his buddy being hit, the other ruffian said angrily, "What the fuck, who the hell are you?"
The man moved aggressively towards William, ready to fight.
"William!" Cherish called out fearfully, worried that he might get hurt.
The ruffian’s fist swung quickly toward William, but he seemed unconcerned, leaning back and easily dodging. He then grabbed the man’s hand, twisted his wrist with force, dislocating it. The man screamed, and his sharp call alarmed everyone, "Let go! Let go!"
William grabbed one man’s head, slammed them together, and left them dazed. He swung one man away and coldly dropped him to the ground, no longer caring. The other was still held by the collar, and he coldly demanded, "Apologize!"
The man squinted and mumbled, "Sor... sorry..."
"Stop stuttering!" William shouted.
"Sorry..."
"You’re insincere!" He narrowed his eyes and violently slammed the ruffian’s head against the wall.
Suffering a collision, blood flowed, and the man begged for mercy, "Sorry... Sorry... Please let me go..."
The rain continued. William’s gloomy, handsome face was chilling to the bone—his fierce demeanor seemed to vent his hatred. His deep eyes captured the rainy mist, leaving only entangling emotions that touched Cherish Turner’s heart.
