Chapter 557: Chapter 556: Get the Hell Out of Here

William Griffith strode over the broken glass and hugged her tightly from behind, his arms encircling her body. She was so obedient and well-behaved, not voicing a single complaint or showing any sign of anger. He lowered his head, resting his chin on her shoulder, and whispered with his eyes closed, "He’s out of danger now."

"I know," Cherish Turner replied softly, "Miss Wood and Yannis both told me."

William fell silent, and Cherish gently stroked his arm, whispering, "William, I’m glad your grandfather is okay."

William frowned, suddenly letting go of her and gripping her small hand, "Let’s go to the hospital!"

To the hospital?"

"To visit the patient."

Suddenly, William took Cherish to the hospital.

After they arrived at the hospital, Cherish bought some fresh fruits at a nearby fruit store and had the owner put them in a fruit basket. Knowing they were visiting a patient, she didn’t forget to buy a bouquet of carnations as well.

Outside the flower shop, William waited with the fruit basket.

Cherish walked out of the flower shop holding a bouquet of flowers. When she approached him, he remarked solemnly, "There’s no need for such trouble."

"It’s a courtesy," Cherish replied softly, her hands clutching the bouquet tightly.

Without another word, William took her hand and led her into the hospital.

They were in the hospital’s upscale residential facility, with first-class caregiving and management.

Robert Griffith’s ward, in particular, was a special-class ward. It was located on the sixth floor, accessible by elevator. Despite being a special-class ward, the building, which was like a villa, couldn’t escape the odor of hospital disinfectant. Cherish had always disliked the smell, as it reminded her of Bob Turner and that one regretful incident in her life.

Outside the ward, a subordinate waited, "Young Master." As the ward door opened, Cherish, who was standing behind William, saw that the spacious room was extremely clean and tidy. Unlike ordinary wards, it looked more like a hotel suite, complete with carpeting, coffee table, and medical equipment.

Robert Griffith was resting with his eyes closed, lying in the hospital bed with an IV drip.

Madam Griffith, May Campbell, and Sophie Wood, stood side by side, turning their heads to look. The arrival of William and Cherish surprised both May and Sophie. Sophie looked at the pair and exclaimed, "How did you two come here together?"

Perhaps upon hearing a particular voice, Robert suddenly opened his eyes.

Robert, who had been unconscious due to a cerebral hemorrhage, looked much older than he had been at the recent ceremony. However, his usual defiant gaze and stubborn expression reminded one of someone else. He looked at William and Cherish and snapped, "What is this woman doing here?"

Cherish immediately stepped forward, placing the flowers on the bedside table and taking the fruit basket from William’s hand, "Chairman, I apologize for coming to visit you without notice..."

"Get out!" he interrupted her harshly.

Cherish wilted, feeling thoroughly embarrassed.

"Old Master Griffith, please control your emotions," the nurse hurriedly advised.

"Dad, don’t get angry. Be careful of your blood pressure rising again. William and Cherish meant well," May also quickly intervened, worried about his relapse.

However, Robert was visibly agitated, shaking his finger at William and shouting, "Are you bringing this woman here to defy me or Sophie? Nobody cares about your messy affairs outside anymore! Sophie is your fiancee! You should’ve known that already! I want you to break off your relationship with this woman! Right now! Immediately!"
