Chapter 556: Chapter 555: What She Wants is a Home

Elijah Butler asked her, "What happened?"

Cherish Turner thought quietly and said softly, "His grandfather is sick."

Hearing her say this, Elijah Butler realized there was more to the story, but since she wasn’t willing to talk about it, he didn’t press further.

That night, Elijah Butler ran into Yannis Griffith at the bar.

"Young Master Griffith," the waitress greeted with a smile.

Yannis Griffith smiled faintly and walked towards the woman sitting by the bar counter. The bartender nodded and prepared a drink for him as usual.

Elijah Butler took a sip of his drink, glanced at him, and asked, "What happened exactly?"

Yannis Griffith briefly fell silent before responding succinctly, "At the Griffiths’ 30th-anniversary celebration, my older brother announced his engagement to another woman."

Elijah Butler paused slightly while sipping his drink, and after processing the information, he exclaimed in disbelief, "William Griffith is engaged?"

Yannis Griffith didn’t speak any further, instead fiddling with his glass.

Elijah Butler was quiet and eventually uttered a word, "Damn!"

"Where is Cherish?"

"She’s watching TV in the office."

"I’ll go check on her."

As Yannis Griffith spoke and prepared to stand up, Elijah Butler’s low female voice resounded in his ear, "A man like him is only good for love, not for a lifetime of living together. Cherish wants a home."

Cherish Turner was sitting quietly in a corner of the sofa, watching the DVD of Autumn in My Heart that Elijah Butler had bought specially. She had told Elijah about this Korean drama before, but unfortunately never got to see the ending.

After growing up, Eunice and Alfred finally met again, but there was a beautiful fiancée beside Alfred and suitors beside her. They used to be siblings, but later realized their feelings were not that simple. The two people who shouldn’t have fallen in love were in love with each other so intensely. In the end, Eunice fell asleep on Alfred’s back. Facing an oncoming truck, Alfred could have dodged it, but he didn’t choose to move forward or back.

Cherish Turner didn’t cry, as she had expected such an ending.

Yannis Griffith walked along the corridor towards the office. A female waiter happened to come out with fruit juice, and Yannis Griffith gestured without letting her close the door. He walked to the entrance, silently watching her.

For the first time, a strong desire arose in Yannis Griffith’s heart.

He wanted to give her a home.

Just as Tuesday arrived, Cherish received a call from the Griffith Family.

Robert Griffith was out of danger.

Elijah Butler had informed her beforehand that he would be out on an errand.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the apartment door. Cherish knew who it was and quickly opened the door to find William Griffith standing outside. He looked tired, his eyes bloodshot, as if he hadn’t slept well for several days.

Cherish even noticed that he seemed to have lost some weight.

William Griffith’s tense eyes relaxed at once, and he suddenly raised the corner of his mouth as if nothing had happened.

Cherish stepped back in surprise and let him into the apartment. She quickly fetched an apron, tied it on, and hurriedly said, "William, do you want some water? Have you eaten? I’ll make some food right away! It won’t take long!"

Cherish first poured him a glass of water. William Griffith reached out to take it but didn’t manage to grasp it. The glass fell from mid-air and shattered on the floor with a piercing noise.
