Chapter 477: Chapter 478: Annoying Little Tricks

Since she was leaving, she had to throw a farewell party or something. She couldn’t just leave quietly, as if she was so distraught because of that man.

She would invite her two brothers, and of course, Sister Grace, Edward, and the only sister-in-law she had ever recognized in her heart, Sister Cherish.

She hadn’t found her older brother yet, and with summer having arrived, William always liked to go to the golf course in the western suburbs to hit some shots. So she went all the way to the golf course and, as expected, found William. She was riding a golf cart, and she saw his tall, upright figure from afar, just like a certain man who could drive people insane. She stopped the cart, jumped off, and walked toward him, "Brother, I knew I would find you here."

Though the contract for the vacation resort project had been signed, there was still a lot of aftermath to handle. So it was still in progress, just not as busy as before. Hailey knew that William liked golf, but why did he have to play every day even in such hot weather?

"I came to tell you that there’s a farewell party tonight," Hailey took an unopened bottle of mineral water from the caddy’s hand, unscrewed the cap, and started drinking.

William, who was about to swing, suddenly stopped and stared at her when he heard her say that, "Whose party?"

Hailey returned the bottle of water to the caddy, caught a glimpse of his worried expression and couldn’t help but laugh, "You don’t think it’s Cherish’s party, do you?"

William looked away and took a nice swing.

"Hey, big brother, if you went pro in golf, you’d definitely rank in the top three," Hailey clapped her hands.

"Whose farewell party is it?" William asked again.

Hailey put one hand on her hip and spat out a word, "Mine."

"Are you really leaving? Aren’t you going to talk to Sam anymore?"

Hailey shook her head. If she went to find him again, she would be losing her dignity.

"What’s there to ask? I’m leaving on my own accord, and it has nothing to do with anyone else. I’m Hailey; a top student at University A, my family is rich, and I’m also a well-known socialite in the city, a diamond-level one at that!"

When Hailey talked about herself, her eyes still sparkled. Sam might have been a pain in her heart, but thankfully, she still loved herself.

William’s furrowed brows eased a bit. Hailey couldn’t stand the heat of the sun anymore, and hurriedly said, "You should contact Cherish and invite her too!"

Hailey didn’t know that they had already broken up and could only secretly guess that they had some minor quarrels. But on second thought, Chloe hadn’t visited the Griffiths’

family anymore. "I need to leave now. It’s too hot here." Hailey finished and turned to leave.

When William saw her leaving, he quickly caught up and grabbed Hailey’s arm. Hailey looked back in surprise to see his usually calm and handsome face filled with rare anxiety, she asked doubtfully, "What’s wrong?"

"I don’t have a phone. I can’t contact her," William said slowly.

"You..." Hailey almost bit her tongue, "Who told you not to use a phone?"

William remained silent, and Hailey handed her own phone to him, "You can call her yourself."

"Hurry and take it!" Seeing that he didn’t accept, Hailey urged him.

Finally, after a stalemate, William took the phone and found the saved number. Hailey patiently waited nearby, watching him press the call button. The phone flashed in front of her eyes, and someone suddenly picked up. The call timer started, and the gentle female voice came through, "Hailey, what’s going on?"
