Chapter 476: Chapter 477: Whose Farewell Party

They say a haircut can change a person’s mood, so Cherish Turner went to the hair salon to get a haircut the next Sunday. She rarely went to the salon because she had grown her long hair since childhood, and it had always been with her without change. Her mother used to tell her, "Cherish, you look so pretty with long hair." When her bangs grew too long, she just went to a nearby small hair salon to have the ladies trim them casually.

Still, if she was going to cut her hair short, Cherish figured she should go to a bigger salon.

Wandering alone on the streets, Cherish finally found a hair salon.

As she hesitated to go in, a enthusiastic female staff member pulled her into the shop. "Miss, do you want a hair change or just a haircut?"

"A haircut," replied Cherish softly, as the bright lights in the hair salon made her momentarily dizzy.

Soon, she found herself seated in a chair. The stylist was a tall, handsome man, who introduced her to various short hairstyles. He then said, "Miss, your hair is so beautiful. It’d be a shame to cut it. Why not try changing your hairstyle instead? Have you ever tried having curly hair?"

Cherish shook her head and looked at herself in the mirror, staring at her long, black hair.

The stylist immediately replaced the short hair lookbook with a curly hair one.

Cherish had never been particular about hairstyles, so she let the stylist do as he wished. She just asked that it not be excessive or overly complicated.

Naturally, the stylist assured her and began curling her hair.

She spent the entire afternoon, from one to four, all on her hair. As Cherish left the salon, her hair was now curled and shoulder length. The stylist told her it was a very popular "pear blossom" style. She paused to look at herself in the window glass, noting her slightly coquettish hair ends, which added more vitality. She was quite pleased with her new hairstyle.

With a new hairstyle and a good mood, not only was her work going smoothly, but also good things were happening.

Editor-in-Chief Davis called her into his office and told her that starting next week, she would be on vacation for ten days. Cherish gratefully accepted and immediately called her mother to tell her about the vacation and the opportunity to travel. Mother Turner was delighted; their dear Cherish had been so unhappy lately. She thought they should take her on a trip.

But where should they go for the trip?

Mother Turner remained mysterious and did not tell her immediately, saying she wanted to surprise her.

Once plans for the trip were underway, Cherish busily finished the remainder of her work. What she couldn’t finish, she handed over to other colleagues. On Wednesday night, she went to her piano class, which she had signed up for as a hobby to help pass the time. That way, with the extra time, she wouldn’t be constantly thinking about a certain person. She told her teacher she was going on a trip and that she would have to miss next week’s class. The teacher smiled and said it was fine; she would make up the missed class after Cherish returned. Cherish expressed her gratitude and left the classroom.

After much thought, Hailey decided to leave the country. After all, Seashore City was the place she had been hurt by so deeply. By staying, she couldn’t understand why she had been hurt the way she had. Perhaps, once she figured things out, she would return one day. She might even accept Edward Smith. Edward was such a good man; perhaps once she understood, she wouldn’t want to let him go to another woman!
