Domineering Love
Chapter 459 - 460: Return to My Side

Chapter 459: Chapter 460: Return to My Side

Daniel Peacock stood sideways outside the parlour, and after Grace Smith went upstairs, he turned his head to observe Cherish Turner, who emerged from the room like a wandering soul. Seeing her red-rimmed eyes, he spoke as she approached him, "It’s just a soap opera, how could you take it so seriously?"

Cherish Turner paused, her long black hair concealing her cheeks.

Looking straight ahead with a soft, gloomy voice, she said, "The drama is fiction, but, I took it to heart."

Daniel Peacock’s gaze immediately became serious. He adjusted his silver-framed glasses to dispel the dark cloud that had arisen. His handsome face turned severe as he looked at her calm and fair face, and asked in a casual tone, "It’s a typhoon today, did he not reach out to you?"

Cherish Turner didn’t want to interact with him anymore. She felt that such a conversation was neither meaningful nor necessary and would only exhaust her.

So, she took a step and continued on her way.

Seeing her cold treatment, Daniel Peacock suddenly felt a pang in his chest. He abruptly grabbed her wrist, forcing her to turn back. He said coldly, "I bet he’s long forgotten about you and is happily enjoying himself with some other woman! What are you to him, Cherish Turner? In his eyes, you’re no different from any other women and he might reject you anytime! Since the start, he’s had Chloe Turner in his heart, you should have figured it out by now."

The words of Daniel Peacock pierced Cherish Turner’s heart, making her feel as if her throat was blocked and she couldn’t make a sound.

After a long while, Cherish Turner forcefully shook off his hand with such force that even he was taken aback.

Then, she simply gave a light "hmm" in response.

She didn’t speak much, she didn’t even say her usual lines like "What’s it to you" or "Thank you for your reminder". Her expression was calm, yet her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, revealing a hint of sorrow. Seeing her melancholic state made him swallow the words that were on the tip of his tongue.

Cherish Turner walked onwards, her small figure in his sight. He stood behind her, stating calmly and earnestly, "The words I’ve said to you before still stand."

Come back to me.

But Cherish Turner seemed not to hear, continuing to walk, turning involuntarily into the corridor without looking back.

Seeing this, Daniel Peacock’s eyes narrowed, feeling an indescribable sensation, a trace of frustration rising between his brows.

The weather forecast predicted that the city would be hit by a typhoon in the next twenty-four hours, yet the storm only lasted for one night. That night, Cherish Turner couldn’t sleep, her eyelids started battling against each other due to exhaustion and at last, she fell into a semi-conscious state.

She held her phone all night, never letting go.

At dawn, the cloudy sky cleared, gradually becoming a fine day.

Cherish Turner brought her phone to her face with both hands, stubbornly dialling that number. Seeing the word "William" on her screen, listening to the eerily calm female voice on the line, she closed her eyes in sadness, "I’m sorry, the user you dialed has turned off the phone, please try again later..."

At the end of the sky, a ray of sunshine began to emerge.

The man she was thinking about, where was he? Would he be with another woman? Cherish Turner found she couldn’t dwell further upon it because the pain would take her breath away. She didn’t know whether she’d have the strength to accept it all one day, but she would not let the dignity of her love be trampled upon.
