"If you have no appetite, drink some soup." William Griffith said in a heavy voice, filling a bowl with the thick soup from the thermos with a spoon.

Chloe Turner stood still, clutching the can of coffee and silently watching him.

After filling the bowl with soup, William lifted his head and said, "Drink it while it’s hot."

"The soup is very good. Where did you buy it?"

William Griffith fell silent and said no more.

"Drink the soup first, then rest. I’ll leave now." William agreed and then turned to leave as he had said.

The footsteps faded away, followed by the sound of the door closing.
