Chapter 446: Chapter 447: Her Kindness and Beauty
Because Chloe Turner was in a bad mood, Cherish thought that, as her sister, she should also show some concern for her.
Cherish was no longer attached to the past.
After all that had happened on Mount Heng, with Bob Turner dead and Chloe Turner in this state, Cherish couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. At the very least, she had to make Chloe cheer up, since the Turner family needed her.
As for the matters between her and William Griffith, who didn’t have a past? Since those things had happened, regardless of what kind of existence they were, they had to be resolved.
After Cherish returned to the apartment, she did laundry and cooked.
This was the first time Cherish cooked pig liver soup, and she didn’t know how. So she took the initiative to call her mother to ask. Her mother heard the call and thought Cherish was sick, anxiously asking questions on the other end of the phone. Cherish quickly explained that it was a friend who was sick and had no family around, so she was helping to cook some soup. Her mother finally sighed in relief, and told Cherish the method to cook the pig liver soup step by step.
Following her mother’s instructions, Cherish patiently began to try.
Bubbles were popping in the pot as the soup cooked.
She tasted it herself, finding it refreshing and not greasy, without any fishy taste. Finally, she smiled, considering it a success.
"Knock, knock--" At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
Cherish guessed who it was, quickly wiping her hands on her apron and rushing to open the door.
As expected, it was William Griffith, who had just returned from dinner with the real estate agent, Mr. Chip.
As soon as William entered the apartment, he smelled the rich aroma. He took off his coat, threw it on the couch, and asked in a deep voice, "What have you cooked again?"
"I cooked pig liver soup," Cherish replied, turning around to ladle the soup from the pot into the thermos.
William thought the soup was for him and sat there waiting. But to his surprise, Cherish walked up to him with the thermos, handed it over, and gently said, "You take it to her."
William was smoking and looked up at her, somewhat puzzled. She then added, "Pig liver soup is good for blood replenishment."
With a cigarette still between his fingers, William finally understood who the soup was cooked for. He slowly got up, rubbed her bangs with his hand, and said affectionately, "Cherish, sometimes you’re so understanding that it makes me feel guilty."
Cherish pursed her lips slightly and shyly smiled.
"Let’s go together," William suggested again.
Cherish thought about it but finally shook her head, "No, you go."
William carried the thermos and drove to deliver the soup to Chloe. His reappearance surprised Chloe again. This time, she deliberately looked behind him, but didn’t see anyone else. She turned around and walked back into the apartment, whispering, "Come in."
William closed the door behind him, scanning the surroundings. His gaze caught the untouched food sitting on the dining table, causing him to frown slightly.
"Do you want canned coffee?" Chloe went straight to the fridge.
William, however, was focused on the dining table and asked in a deep voice, "Haven’t eaten yet?"
Chloe bent over to retrieve a can of coffee from the fridge, closed the door, and replied lightly, "I don’t have an appetite."
Right then, a pleasant fragrance filled the air. Chloe turned her head suspiciously, only to find William standing by the dining table, opening the thermos. She didn’t know when he had brought in the thermos, but the aroma made her guess what it was, and her cold heart suddenly warmed due to his subtle gesture.
