Domineering Love -
Chapter 440 - 441: No Ifs
Chapter 440: Chapter 441: No Ifs
Daniel Peacock was no longer dressed in his usual suit and tie, only wearing a white casual top and grey trousers, looking like an ordinary man at home. He walked towards her with an indifferent manner and stopped in front of Cherish Turner before saying, "I heard you and he are back together."
Cherish momentarily paused before understanding, but remained silent.
"Daniel Peacock, I thought you knew my feelings clearly. There’s nothing between us and you can’t meddle in my business. The relationship between William Griffith and me is not as difficult and complicated as you think, and there is more trust between us than you can imagine." Cherish said, and made to leave.
"Do you think he’s sincere to you?" Daniel Peacock’s low male voice sounded like thunder, causing Cherish’s steps to halt. He took off his glasses, wiped them with a handkerchief, and faintly said, "William Griffith, the young master of the Griffith Family, a tycoon in the financial world, known to all. Leaving aside his family background, you should be well aware of how many women are around him. You should also know that he’s always treated them as mere flings."
Cherish’s heart felt a chill, but her mind heated up. "Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Peacock."
She quickly resumed walking, heading for the front door. She gripped the doorknob, flung the door open and heard Daniel Peacock’s sharp, mocking voice behind her like a nightmare, "I advise you not to dream, so naively."
Cherish hurriedly said goodbye to her mother, and went to Deep Wave Mansion.
As she got into the taxi, the air conditioning in the car made her shiver.
Don’t dream, so naively.
How many people had said these words to her? Was it really just a dream to like someone?
The bustling streets, with the oncoming cars flashing bright lights as they sped by, illuminated the faces of pedestrians and the two walking side by side, William Griffith and Chloe Turner. They just finished dinner together, and Chloe suggested a stroll. After a while, seeing a convenience store by the roadside, Chloe stopped and said she was thirsty and wanted some water before going in.
William followed silently but only stood at the entrance without going in.
There were countless chocolates and candies hanging at the cashier.
Chloe took two bottles of water and put them on the counter. Someone immediately added two boxes of candy beside the water bottles. As she slowly turned around, she saw William paying for the items. Chloe’s heart stirred, and she looked at the two boxes of candy, her smile a mix of bitterness and joy.
He hadn’t forgotten that she loved eating candy.
Leaving the convenience store, Chloe walked in front of William, turned around to face him, and said with a smile, "William, I know there’s a concert coming up by a singer you like. Shall we go see it together? Do you remember when we made a promise back then...?"
William slowly stopped walking and interrupted her, "Chloe..."
"William." Chloe didn’t give him a chance to speak, suddenly saying, "If I hadn’t left back then, would we be together?"
The surrounding area was filled with passing vehicles, and the light shone from Chloe to William. In the dim, interwoven light and shadow, his cold and handsome face appeared. Amid the noisy sounds, Chloe stubbornly stared at William, her brows furrowed and her eyes unblinkingly focused on his deep ones, expecting a certain answer.
After a long standoff, a low, indifferent male voice could be heard through the sound of the wind and cars, "There are no ifs."
