Chapter 415 - 415 416 I Can Be Sad Too
Chapter 415: Chapter 416: I Can Be Sad Too Chapter 415: Chapter 416: I Can Be Sad Too William Griffith couldn’t stand seeing her act so distant. He felt annoyed but there were some things he couldn’t tell her yet.
However, he could talk about Emma Hall. After all, Benjamin Solomon and Emma had met as well.
“Emma is Benjamin’s ex-wife.”
He began, for the first time, to seriously explain about another woman like this.
Cherish Turner was stunned; she obviously hadn’t expected this news.
“She did coincidentally meet me when she came back, but she asked me not to tell Benjamin. Their relationship… is a bit complicated.”
Cherish felt some of the pent-up frustration dissipate, but instead of feeling relieved, she became angrier. Why couldn’t he have just told her this?
But deep down, she felt relieved. She just couldn’t let go of her pride at the moment. So she huffed and left without answering, not even turning her head.
As it approached 4 p.m., everyone prepared to finish work. They walked out as if they had won a battle. Although their steps were heavy, their spirits were high. They hurried back to the nearby building to organize their things and rest before heading home. Back in the break room, everyone took advantage of the time to input their recorded data and information into their laptops.
Cherish went to the office to report the situation to Chief Editor Sally.
She was just about to reach the office when she suddenly felt a strange pain in her lower abdomen, causing her forehead to break out in cold sweat. She bent over, leaning against the wall, unable to move.
At that moment, the office door opened, and Chief Editor Sally’s voice came out, “President Griffith, we will do our best to complete this project. Please rest assured.”
Chief Editor Sally was escorting William Griffith out, but as she opened the door, she saw Cherish standing in the hallway, looking very pale and uncomfortable.
“Assistant Turner, are you all right?” Chief Editor Sally asked.
“I’m fine.” Cherish forced herself to straighten up, her brow furrowed.
William’s eyes narrowed as he stepped forward. As he walked past her, he suddenly grabbed her hand and forcefully dragged her along with him.
“William Griffith…”
Cherish was in so much pain that she couldn’t even muster the strength to speak. She felt even worse being dragged along by him. By the time they left the building in the elevator, she couldn’t take it any longer. The car was parked outside the building, and as soon as William opened the door, Cherish squatted down, clutching her lower abdomen.
William immediately picked her up and put her in the car.
As the car started moving slowly, his handsome face was clouded with anger. Harsher than ever before, he scolded, “Who told you to come to work when you’re still sick? Who do you think you are? Is it fun to push yourself so hard? Do you not care about your own health? Do you really want others to worry about you?”
Turning the steering wheel, he glanced over at her, seeing her small face contorted with pain.
He reached out one hand to touch her, thinking she was relapsing again. “Are you feeling unwell again?”
His big, warm hand was comforting. Cherish savored the care he was giving her. Closing her eyes, her abdomen still swollen and painful, her voice weak and faint, “Don’t care for me or be nice to me. I can’t take it anymore, the way you treat me hotand cold, close and distant… ”
Something seemed to be gathering at the bottom of her eyes as she softly said, “I get hurt too.”
Listening to Cherish say this, William’s heart suddenly clenched. It was his consistent disregard for her feelings that left her feeling so insecure.
