Domineering Love -
Chapter 393 - 393 394 She is My Woman
Chapter 393: Chapter 394: She is My Woman Chapter 393: Chapter 394: She is My Woman William Griffith’s gaze swept over Cherish Turner, then moved to the entrance. Spotting the woman standing there, his eyes tightened momentarily, then relaxed with no discernible change in emotion. His handsome face gave away nothing, and he did not say a word, just nodding in acknowledgement.
“I just returned yesterday.” Emma Hall took a few steps forward, speaking in a calm tone, but her tightly clenched hand gripping her bag betrayed her nerves. Looking for a topic, she casually asked, “Are you here to buy a piano?”
Two simple words slipped from William Griffith’s mouth: “Just passing.”
Emma Hall started, only then noticing the other person in the store.
Looking at her, it was a very ordinary-looking girl, very young, casually dressed, yet with a trendy edge. She did not possess attractive features or a seductive figure, she was exceptionally plain – enough to make Emma think that she may be his secretary or assistant.
But why would he be with a secretary or assistant after working hours?
Moreover, she was holding his coat.
Emma hesitated before asking softly, “Your friend?”
“It’s my woman, I have to go now.” William apathetically spoke, reaching out to hold Cherish’s hand, and just like that, walked past Emma Hall. Before Cherish could react, she was led out of the piano store by him. As she looked over at William, she could only guess the nature of their relationship in her heart.
Emma turned back to an empty window, where through the glass, she caught a glimpse of their fleeting figures.
“Miss Hall…” the store clerk called out again and Emma replied, “Sorry, you can fill in the address now.”
The journey was silent, with neither of them speaking. She thought, maybe, just like Benjamin Solomon, he must despise her. After all, Benjamin and William were such close brothers.
William Griffith dropped Cherish off at the base of her building, taking out a cigarette and telling her, “You should go up.”
Cherish nodded, turned around, and walked a few steps before suddenly turning back. She softly asked, “Would you like to come up for a coffee?”
William was silent for a moment, before responding solemnly, “You should rest early.”
“Goodnight,” Cherish said with a small smile, and finally made her way into the building. Taking the lift up, she returned to her apartment alone. As soon as the door closed, she collapsed onto the couch. She was incredibly happy, yet felt a hint of emptiness.
The appearance of Emma Hall made Cherish wonder aimlessly, being aware of the unusual tension between them. But he didn’t say anything. In fact, Cherish hoped William would say something.
Cherish had never mentioned Emma Hall in front of William, and he had never brought her up either. Everything seemed to be just like regular days, they dined together, took walks together. But even as they walked side-by-side, there always seemed to be a physical wall between them, making everything feel distant and strange.
Just off work, Hailey called her, inviting her to a musical ballet show. Initially, Cherish didn’t want to go but after Hailey’s earnest invitation, she caved in.
Moreover, she had the impression that Hailey might want to know something about Sam Turner.
Cherish walked out of the grocery store carrying two big bags, then called William Griffith. He was clearly not at home, because the melodic sound of a piano playing could be heard from the other side. She told him about the musical ballet show, to which he responded with a succinct acknowledgment before hanging up.
