Chapter 924: Chapter 925: Arrival
"All right."
Feng Yuan breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the six circular platforms drawn over. He had been worried they might be intercepted by the Divine Beasts along the way. Agunas glanced at Feng Yuan and said with annoyance,
"You’d better move fast. They said they’re only giving you one day. If it takes longer than that, they will have to intervene."
Feng Yuan gave Agunas a bright look. He had thought the Divine Beasts hadn’t made a move, not realizing Agunas had taken care of the trouble for him.
"Don’t worry, it won’t take that long."
Feng Yuan gave Agunas a trust-me look. The latter was somewhat skeptical, given the magnitude of the commotion this time, but Feng Yuan had no time to explain further and directly moved the circular platforms toward Featherwood City.
The circular platforms slowly rotated in the air, with six smaller ones beneath them, being drawn along and rotating as well. A dazzling stream of energy formed a colorful light vortex during this constant rotation.
Now, this multi-colored light vortex with a long trailing tail soared towards Featherwood City.
"Has a serious problem occurred in Featherwood City?"
Receiving the announcement from the Divine Beasts, everyone started to understand what had happened. However, Captain Yang couldn’t comprehend why they had set off from Xinmu City; it would have been simpler for Agunas to open a Space Gate in Featherwood City.
What they didn’t know was that it wasn’t Feng Yuan who initially intended to act, but Old Wei; Feng Yuan had merely taken over the arrangement halfway through. The source of the Divine Beasts’ information was Agunas, who knew that Old Wei didn’t get along with the beasts so had concealed his presence.
As for Lorraine Tower, although it was aware of the true situation, there was no need to disclose it, as doing so would only cause more dissent between Old Wei and the other Divine Beasts, with no benefit.
"Is it possible to pull up the celestial surveillance system footage?"
Meng Binglan asked a nearby technician. Since their world was constructed with a round heaven and a square earth, there were no satellites, but a similar celestial surveillance system did exist. These devices were set in the Starry Heaven, typically taken up by special Spirit Beasts, as the Starry Heaven wasn’t much affected by the Starry Sky.
Humans were aware of the occasional fights among the Divine Beasts in the Starry Sky, which is why they made sure not to place the devices too close to the Starry Sky, to avoid accidental damage.
"Yes, we can, though I doubt there will be anything useful."
As the technician spoke, he accessed the filming device of the celestial surveillance system, manually confirming anomalies in energy flow and other data. The device itself had limited image clarity, and with such a vast range of strange energy coverage, it might not be visible at all. But as they pulled up the video data for that region, everyone was stunned.
The clearly defined bizarre contraption formed by the circles was floating in the sky, with a long river of light trailing behind, seemingly moving toward a particular location.
"This... what the heck is this?"
Meng Binglan stood there dumbfounded, not expecting to see something like this. The command center erupted in commotion, as the object was too strange; when the Divine Beasts had issued their announcement, everyone had assumed it would be some sort of ultimate move. But now, it looked entirely like a special device!
"An ancient relic, perhaps? But what exactly is it?"
Captain Yang murmured, confused. He thought ancient relics wouldn’t span such a vast range, but now that he saw the actual object, everything he couldn’t understand before became clear. Those six special belt-like areas must be the chains connecting the six circular platforms, and those chains were pulling the platforms to rotate along with the main circular platform.
"Interesting, seems to be some kind of ancient relic?"
Meng Binglan muttered with curiosity as she watched the device. If there had been time, she might even have wanted to explore it herself.
"This is..."
Watching the reflection of another world in the sky, Delong Tower was surprised. It of course knew what was on the other side. Following the pillar of light that was exchanging power downward, a Divine Beast resembling an Eastern Giant Dragon, its body ablaze with ghostly blue flames, was coiled around the stone tower, with a special Barrier confining the incessantly surging power within.
"Eclipse has made a move as well?"
Delong Tower was somewhat surprised. In the reflection of the world, a black Western Dragon-like Divine Beast was flying; a pale flame was sprayed directly at the altar, but a strange rune barrier rose from the altar to block the flame, causing its attack to fail.
"What exactly is this place..."
At this moment, Delong Tower also noticed that although Eclipse was making every effort to prevent the leakage of energy, the surrounding environment was still affected. The land near the barrier was gradually dying under the erosion of the power of death.
"They’ve done a good job!"
Feng Yuan said viciously as he grabbed Sickle and shook it fiercely downward, causing the rotating ring platform to slowly come to a halt, leaving only the outer rings to rotate slowly.
Eclipse raised his head to glance at the ring platform in the sky and then turned his attention back to the newly accumulated Tower of Oblivion. The power piling up in this space was growing stronger, making it increasingly difficult for him to contain it.
"Veronia, take Big Cat and the others into the Mirror Realm."
Feng Yuan addressed Veronia. Big Cat whimpered as if objecting, but Feng Yuan turned to look at Big Cat and said,
"Behave. The upcoming events are not for you to interfere with."
Big Cat hung its head in a dejected manner and whimpered. Feng Yuan, turning to pat Big Cat on the head, said softly,
"Alright, please take them inside for a while."
After rubbing Big Cat’s head, Feng Yuan placed Little Ice Cream on its head with a smile. Big Cat whimpered with a hint of dejection but soon recovered and nodded at Feng Yuan.
"I appreciate it."
"It’s nothing."
Veronia replied, opening the Space Gate directly. Looking at the Mirror Realm beyond the Space Gate, Big Cat turned around for one last look at Feng Yuan before leading the non-Divine Beast Spirit Beasts inside. Feng Yuan glanced at Xiao Ji and said,
"Don’t run around later. Stay here. If they can’t hold up, we’ll need you to protect them."
Xiao Ji looked at Feng Yuan with some confusion. It didn’t quite understand what he meant. In terms of strength, aside from Little Green Snake, who wasn’t more powerful than it? If they couldn’t hold up, how could it protect them?
"It’s an attribute issue; that power happens to be within your domain. But keep a closer eye on Old Wei. The only other concern is Little Green Snake, who is more vulnerable."
Agunas said with a flick of its tail. Although it was still dealing with the Fire Stronghold, with Long Boduo’s help, it didn’t need to focus all its attention on those enemies.
Xiao Ji chirped, seemingly conveying that it understood. Old Wei chuckled and asked,
"Do you plan to use this to directly impede that power?"
"Not just that. I’m also going to knock those things down."
Feng Yuan said calmly, raising Sickle with his right hand, and with a wave of his left hand, the rune circle behind him instantly dispersed. The runes flew off in all directions and, moments later, landed on the ground, forming a huge ritual circle with the new Tower of Oblivion at its center.
The ring platform slowly moved toward the space above the Tower of Oblivion. The barrier set by Eclipse seemed non-existent, offering no resistance to the ring platform, which floated gently to the energy pillar. A terrifying force impacted everyone present, and the invaders? Veronia had already locked them inside the Mirror Realm. Although Feng Yuan held a certain disdain for those individuals, he wasn’t about to harm people’s lives. Or rather, it would be much better to leave those who dared cause trouble within Great Xia to be dealt with by them. Feng Yuan believed they would surely give a ’warm reception’ to these intruders.
As the ring platform blocked the energy pillar, the pressure on Eclipse was instantly relieved. Lifting its head to look at the ring platform in the sky, Eclipse let out a low roar and floated slowly upwards. At this moment, the world’s reflection in the sky was continually expanding and spreading to other areas.
Looking at the altar in the sky, Feng Yuan revealed a fierce smile and said somewhat guiltily,
"I can’t be blamed for this one, can I?"
