Divine Beast Creator -
Chapter 895 - 896: Repair
Chapter 895: Chapter 896: Repair
"Agunas! Watch your defenses!"
Feng Yuan suddenly called out, as the earth began to shake violently. Something seemed to be burrowing out from the chained land. Agunas glanced at Lanadi and shouted,
"Come over here!"
Long Boduo let out a sharp screech as black steles appeared one by one around them. A black, transparent barrier enveloped the group. Xiao Ji flew in the air, vigilantly watching over the land, while Gladys held a spatial card and quietly said, scanning the surroundings,
"It seems we have some trouble here. I don’t know what it is, but it seems quite strong."
Although they could not see what was approaching, everyone could feel the formidable pressure it emitted. The pressure was not as strong as that of the Divine Beasts, but it was much stronger than that of beings at the Sacred Beast Level.
"Is it the leader of the Resurrectors? Finally showing yourself, Little Crocodile, fall back. This one isn’t easy for you to deal with. Put away the Time Storm, it’s useless against it and might even backfire."
Veronia stepped forward, transforming into the likeness of a Crystal Giant, while Agunas swung his claw, and the rampaging Time Storm gradually subsided. Clutching a page from the Golden Tome, Agunas tossed the book into the air, casting a Crystal Barrier that overlaid the black barrier, protecting everyone within.
"So cautious? What is this thing?"
Lanadi asked somewhat bewildered. It wasn’t enough to have Long Boduo’s Barrier; even Agunas was going all out? As the Netherworld Pillar began to undergo strange changes, streams of black flames spread upward along the pillar, while ancient black clocks appeared out of nowhere, circling the Netherworld Pillar.
"It’s a big one; stay alert!"
Feng Yuan warned. The pillar had almost been completely repaired, but sensing the presence of the big one, he had no choice but to first shield the Netherworld Pillar. With three adult Divine Beasts present, Feng Yuan dared not be careless. If the troublesome beast launched a surprise attack, its formidable vitality could likely withstand the attacks of the three Divine Beasts long enough to destroy the Netherworld Pillar.
"You hold it off, I’ll find a way to finish repairing the Netherworld Pillar as quickly as possible and then send it back."
Feng Yuan looked back at Agunas and said. Gladys, puzzled, asked,
"Why doesn’t it seem like you’re worried this thing will appear near the other Netherworld Pillars?"
"Because that thing must be following that power. Otherwise, it wouldn’t forcibly break through the world barrier. The Netherworld has nothing of use to them."
Agunas said resignedly, swishing his tail. At that moment, a dragon’s roar echoed. The chains locking the land were burst through by an enormous creature. Shattered chains transformed into black lightning, striking fiercely against the gray-black Giant Dragon. Even as the enemy’s body was riddled with wounds from the black lightning, it seemed to react as if the body was not its own.
"A dragon among the Resurrectors?"
Veronia looked at the enormous gray-black Giant Dragon with an indescribable expression. Resurrectors were notoriously hard to eliminate, and the naturally thick-skinned dragons made them even more troublesome. No wonder it carried such overwhelming pressure; dragons inherently possessed immense strength, and Resurrectors were no exception.
"We’re in trouble, these creatures naturally have quite a resistance to control abilities."
Agunas said with a hint of a headache. This characteristic of the dragon species seemed to be inherited from the Creator Twin Dragon Gods. The Time and Space Gods themselves had similar abilities, but usually they could only negate control abilities of their own Attribute, which is why it had not garnered much attention.
Time and Space weren’t famous for control effects, but Agunas had no idea which Attribute this beast belonged to.
"Earth and Death, but that’s also to be expected."
Veronia said after sensing the opponent’s energy and made a gesture with the Crystal Giant. The bulky form of the Crystal Giant began to transform, enveloped in a golden glow.
"I’m still quite lucky."
A crystal giantess with the form of an adult woman muttered as she appeared on the spot. With a gentle lift of her hand, a series of golden crystals slowly materialized, carrying a breath of death as they flew toward the gray-black giant dragon. Bursts of golden lightning emerged incessantly around the crystals, and the lightning continuously leaped among them like a resilient spider web, firmly trapping the gray-black giant dragon within.
With a long howl, the gray-black giant dragon fiercely flapped its enormous wings, a black storm sweeping in all directions. The crystal giantess waved her hand, and a series of crystal mirrors emerged from the void, floating around the black storm to securely entrap it. Behind her, a large golden mirror surfaced, and the crystal giantess beckoned to the gray-black giant dragon.
From the golden mirror, another identical gray-black giant dragon emerged, roaring as it lunged at its counterpart. Watching the two gray-black dragons tangle with each other, Agunas was somewhat speechless. It had specifically asked Feng Yuan about the situation in the World of Mirrors, and the answer it got was that the World of Mirrors was closer to the Yin World; therefore, in terms of attributes, it generally had more dark attributes.
Yet gold was obviously closer to the attribute of light. Agunas didn’t understand why the other party was so fond of that color.
"I told you all to be careful... Xiao Ji!"
Feng Yuan, somewhat helplessly, pulled out a smaller Dark Ancient Book from within the Dark Ancient Book and tossed it to Xiao Ji. Catching the Dark Ancient Book in the air with some confusion, Xiao Ji underwent a bizarre transformation. Lanadi, somewhat astonished at the sight of the black giant bird growing larger in the sky, said,
"What exactly is he holding? A Divine Artifact from the Mythical Era?"
"Maybe not. After all, there shouldn’t have been anything so exaggerated in the Mythical Era. At most, they could give the Divine Beings powers similar to the gods themselves, but involving the gods themselves..."
Shaking her head, Gladys wasn’t sure what the book in Feng Yuan’s hands really was. And looking at the situation, it seemed to resemble Agunas’s own weapon, but why would Agunas’s own weapon appear in his hands? Gladys was puzzled by this.
"Let’s hope they don’t know about it, or else the Alliance is likely to have trouble."
With some resignation, Lanadi spoke, and Gladys smiled, tilting her head as she sized up Lanadi,
"Are they so unaware?"
"It’s not entirely so. It’s just that some people always have a bit too much confidence."
Lanadi said with a wry smile, and Gladys, looking at the huge Netherworld Pillar, said,
"I think you should try to extricate yourself from those affairs of the Alliance. The Alliance now is not like before; or rather, it’s gradually transforming into something like the Divine Beast Hall."
"I know, or rather, everyone knows. But there’s no helping it. Some things aren’t as simple as wanting to do them. Perhaps the Divine Beast Hall began in a similar way to the Alliance, but..."
Shaking his head, Lanadi didn’t seem eager to continue the topic. At this moment in the sky, Xiao Ji had completed its transformation. Its gigantic body ablaze with black flames, and compared to the original eagle form, Xiao Ji now might be more fittingly called a colossal eagle.
Xiao Ji, flapping its wings, seemed to have spotted something; its eagle eyes intently fixed on the sky near the Netherworld Pillar. At that moment, it realized why Feng Yuan had suddenly thrown it that object. Whipping up a black storm, Xiao Ji directly flung the fairy-like creature that was approaching the Netherworld Pillar away.
"Damn it! A special Resurrector hidden in the interstitial layers of the concealed space!"
Agunas instantly understood what had happened. With a wave of its hand, a rainbow-hued Barrier blocked the path of that fairy-like Resurrector, who seemed to be stuck in a time loop, endlessly moving forward only to be pulled back. Seeing this, Veronia was somewhat annoyed.
Hands clasped together, the crystal giantess stood still as if she were a sanctified goddess, offering a silent prayer. The next moment, a golden circular seal directly engraved itself onto the black earth. Three seconds after the appearance of the golden circular seals, golden columns of light burst forth from the seals, and soon, those densely packed golden circular seals occupied the space around the Netherworld Pillar.
Seeing nothing but golden light everywhere, Agunas said with some speechlessness,
"How much do you love this color, really? Why are all your ultimate moves such weird things?"
"Mind your own business!"
