Chapter 731: Chapter 732: Lemon Husky_1
"Tsk! I really want to see what their reaction would be if Lorraine Tower greeted them standing up."
The Big Cat swung its little tail, the Little Husky on its head said discontentedly, just as Lorraine Tower was busy repairing the Dream Domain’s barrier and had no time to come over; otherwise, it really wanted to give it a try.
"Please don’t cause trouble..."
Qi Chen said helplessly. In the past few days, the Divine Beast Hall had split, and many people and affiliate organizations had broken away from the Divine Beast Hall. Now everyone was very cautious toward Divine Beasts, knowing that those who had separated might use disrespect to the Divine Beasts as an excuse to act.
Even though the number of people who had left the Divine Beast Hall wasn’t particularly high compared to the Divine Beast Hall itself, as a powerful organization on par with the Alliance, the strength of the Divine Beast Hall’s members was not something ordinary people could compare to.
Like that time someone tried to assassinate Feng Yuan, if it weren’t for Lorraine Tower’s intervention, perhaps only Feng Yuan himself could have handled that person. As for others, they might not have even been able to detect the assailant.
To avoid giving them an excuse, now ordinary people kept some respectful distance from Divine Beasts, and Divine Pact Makers like Wu Feng, who lived in human society, tacitly agreed not to bring Divine Beasts into crowds. They all knew that those who had left the Divine Beast Hall would not settle down without causing some trouble.
To avoid giving them an excuse, everyone’s actions became very cautious, and some people even proposed to cancel the informal competition this time. After all, it was predictable that Maomu’s side would surely deploy Divine Beasts, and who knew what those crazies who had left the Divine Beast Hall might do.
"Hmph! I’ve never enjoyed such treatment."
Little Husky was surrounded by lemons spinning in the air. Qi Chen didn’t know where it had gotten those from and, looking at the Little Husky, he said helplessly,
"You can try asking Captain Chen and the others if you want to experience it; I believe they should be able to satisfy you."
"As if! How could they possibly agree to such a thing!"
Waving its paws, the Little Husky cried out in dissatisfaction. At that moment, the surrounding students turned their heads in confusion to look over. Although Feng Yuan had transformed into the appearance of a Little Husky, his voice had not changed, so everyone could understand what he was saying.
"Hmph!"
Noticing that everyone was looking at itself, the Little Husky lay down and unhappily swung its tail, huffing its displeasure.
"Just ignore him."
Seeing the glances turning toward him, Qi Chen said calmly, the color of his face unchanged. The people around him were his classmates, who naturally knew Feng Yuan could transform into that peculiar black and white little dog. They were only curious about what Feng Yuan had just been shouting about, but seeing that Qi Chen seemed unwilling to elaborate, they didn’t pay it much mind.
After all, they had received great benefits from Feng Yuan and wanted to do something for him, so they had looked over when they heard Feng Yuan shout.
"It’s finally over, let’s just go eat out."
Barely having gotten through the greeting activities before the group disbanded, the Little Husky stretched out a paw and tugged at Qi Chen’s clothes, whispering. Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan puzzled and said,
"The shop should be closed at this hour."
"I don’t want to go to the cafeteria; we’ll definitely run into those people."
Lemons circled around the Little Husky again as Qi Chen picked up a lemon and said speechlessly,
"Where did you get all these? Don’t waste them even if you’re not eating."
"Tsk! Even if time stands still, they won’t spoil, so what’s the waste?"
Snatching back the lemon and tossing it into the lemon ring, the Little Husky stared at Qi Chen and said,
"Shall we go together?"
"We can."
Qi Chen had no objection to this; he didn’t care where they ate but remembered to mention Dou Yanlan,
"But first, I need to find Yanlan."
"She’s over there."
The Little Husky raised a paw and pointed in a direction. Xiao Ji looked at the Little Husky and chirped. Agunas glanced at the Little Husky on the Big Cat’s head and said,
"It’s asking why you’re not lying on it?"
"Is there even a place on Xiao Ji to lie on?"
The Little Husky rolled its eyes, huddling up and said speechlessly. The Big Cat’s large size, while comparable in height to Xiao Ji, offered much more space to lie on due to its rounder figure. Compared to the eagle-like Xiao Ji, the Big Cat naturally had more places to lounge on.
Unless Xiao Ji was flying, there really was no place for Feng Yuan, transformed into a Little Husky, to lie on, whereas the reasonably sizable area on top of the Big Cat’s head was just perfect for the Little Husky to sit comfortably.
Xiao Ji spread his wings and looked at himself, feeling somewhat discouraged instantaneously. Naturally, he could not achieve the plumpness of Big Cat. One reason being it would impact his combat capabilities, and another being there were limits to evolution. Unless some Spirit Beasts were rather unique, there really weren’t any that could crazily increase their size during evolution.
The Spirit Beasts whose size grew wildly were basically all defensive types, skilled at protecting teammates, which did not suit Xiao Ji’s offense-focused heart at all.
Raising his paw, an energy-formed wolf claw appeared above Xiao Ji’s head. Following Little Husky’s paw movements, it rubbed Xiao Ji’s head. Feng Yuan, who had turned into Little Husky, smiled and said,
"All right, don’t worry about stuff like that. Isn’t it still you we rely on in battle?"
Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Xiao Ji barked happily and cast a smug glance at Big Cat. Big Cat gazed blankly at Xiao Ji, not quite understanding what the other was happy about, but Xiao Ji also faintly realized that this seemingly dopey scholar-like owl cat was not simple.
No matter how much Big Cat could pretend, he was different from the genuinely dazed Pomiti. Being with Feng Yuan for so long and through Pomiti, Xiao Ji could barely guess what was truly dazed and what was a facade.
Thinking this, Xiao Ji cast a wary look at Big Cat, considering him a formidable opponent.
"The competition seems to start next week, and now is the time for social activities. Aren’t you going to take a look?"
Dou Yanlan looked at Qi Chen and Feng Yuan, who had become Little Husky, with some confusion. Swishing his tail, Feng Yuan said discontentedly,
"No way! They are just students from Shangjing!"
Watching the ring of lemons that surrounded Little Husky, Dou Yanlan said with a somewhat amused expression,
"You would enjoy the same treatment if you went to Shangjing openly, so why bother?"
Emitting a dissatisfied grunt, Little Husky didn’t respond. Qi Chen glanced at the petulant Feng Yuan and asked,
"Where are we going to eat now?"
"In the alley, it seems there is no particularly good restaurant open at the moment."
"Then let’s just look around."
Little Husky voiced out, to which neither of them objected. To them, it didn’t make much difference where they ate. Looking at the clean and tidy alley, Little Husky turned his head with dissatisfaction and said,
"Really, it’s lost all its atmosphere like this."
"What atmosphere... I think this clean and tidy look is pretty good..."
"As if! The battered streets, the slightly disordered alleys, and those... okay, let’s leave out the flies."
"Anyways, that’s what the alley should be like in my mind. This now..."
Listening to Feng Yuan’s skewed logic, Qi Chen covered his forehead speechlessly. Suddenly, a pair of hands reached over to Big Cat and picked up the babbling Little Husky. Looking up and seeing a pale face, Little Husky asked with some confusion,
"Old Wei? You’re still here?"
"Of course."
With an elegant smile, Old Wei held Little Husky in his arms and said with some puzzlement,
"You aren’t eating at the school this afternoon?"
"It’s all because that guy wanted to eat out."
Pointing at Little Husky in Old Wei’s arms, Qi Chen said helplessly, while Dou Yanlan stared at Old Wei with a wary gaze.
"There aren’t any particularly tasty restaurants open around here at this hour. I do know of one place that serves delicious rice noodles, but it’s a bit far."
Old Wei said with a smile. Dou Yanlan frowned slightly and eyed Little Husky in Old Wei’s arms with some confusion, looking up with curiosity, Little Husky asked,
"Have you tried all the shops around here?"
"More or less. So, what do you say? Want to join me? My treat."
"Sure, why not~"
Little Husky said excitedly. His range of activities near the school was not large, and he had never encountered the noodle shop mentioned by Old Wei, hence his curiosity. Reaching out to take Little Husky from Old Wei’s arms, Dou Yanlan asked with a slight frown,
"It’s not a very remote place, is it?"
