Chapter 732: Chapter 733 Negotiation Part 1

"It’s not particularly far, just in that direction."

With a gentle smile on his face, Old Wei pointed in a direction, placed Little Husky back on Big Cat’s head, and Dou Yanlan stared at Feng Yuan as she said,

"What do you think?"

"Of course, let’s go~"

Glancing at Agunas, Dou Yanlan took Qi Chen’s hand and said,

"Then let’s go together."

"Is there something wrong?"

Bringing up the rear, Qi Chen asked Dou Yanlan in a low voice, puzzled. Looking ahead at Old Wei, although there was no evidence, Dou Yanlan’s intuition told her that he could hear their conversation. After a moment of silence, Dou Yanlan shook her head at Qi Chen, signaling not to mention it anymore.

Following Old Wei, it took the group a while to arrive at this relatively secluded noodle shop. This area was all old residential buildings, and the streets were quite deserted at noon, with few people passing by. A rundown noodle shop stood lonely there, surrounded by other various types of shops, but none were in food service.

"This place... are you sure it’s okay?"

Dou Yanlan was somewhat doubtful. By now, Old Wei had already entered the noodle shop with Feng Yuan in tow, and seeing Feng Yuan remained in the guise of Little Husky, Qi Chen said somewhat speechlessly,

"How are you going to eat if you don’t change back?"

"I’ll eat just like this."

Rolling his eyes, Little Husky retorted irritably, and Old Wei said with a smile,

"Then I’ll help you bring your bowl over."

Dou Yanlan remained vigilant, watching Old Wei closely, but she noticed nothing suspicious when he placed the bowl in front of Little Husky.

"Am I being paranoid?"

Dou Yanlan murmured to herself, somewhat puzzled.

Seeing a black-and-white little dog skillfully using chopsticks, the people around were astonished. Although Spirit Beasts were quite intelligent, such a sight was rare; most Spirit Beasts preferred to tear their food directly with their mouths, as it was much simpler compared to the challenging chopsticks. Besides, they usually found ways to keep themselves clean and didn’t mind getting dirty while eating.

Moreover, the paws of that little dog were not particularly suited for using chopsticks. Qi Chen, at a loss for words, glanced around and said,

"You, watch out or you might become tomorrow’s viral news topic on social media."

"No, they won’t be able to capture me."

Little Husky said disdainfully, flicking his tail. At that moment, the onlookers also noticed the anomaly. Although they could see the amusing scene in front of them, their phones and other devices couldn’t capture Qi Chen and the group; through the lens, the table appeared completely empty, void of people, Spirit Beasts, or objects like chopsticks and bowls.

Knowing the other party was strong and didn’t like being photographed, everyone silently put away their phones and watched the scene with interest. Though they couldn’t share it on social media, couldn’t it also serve as a conversation piece when chatting with others?

"Don’t you have important things to do?"

Having finished eating first, Little Husky looked at Old Wei and asked aloud. He was well aware that Old Wei wasn’t the sort of person with an abundance of free time, yet he had been encountering him in Maomu City rather frequently, which seemed abnormal.

After glancing at Agunas, Old Wei said softly,

"I am indeed here on important business, at least that information doesn’t seem to be entirely false."

"Information?"

"Someone’s planning to make a move during the competition."

Old Wei spoke calmly, his gaze hiding a glint of ferocity that no one but Feng Yuan detected. Little Husky flicked his tail and asked,

"Do I need to make any preparations on my end?"

"If possible, it’s best to give them a heads-up beforehand. You know, my relationship with them is really..."

Agunas gave Old Wei an irritated look and said,

"Who asked you to get involved in that mess."

Smiling, Old Wei replied without changing his expression,

"This is our own business; it has nothing to do with you, and you can’t deny our choices."

"Does it think the same way? But then again... if it were to disagree..."

Shaking his head at Agunas, Little Husky said helplessly,

"If it really comes down to it, you might not be stronger than them. Such matters are only understood when truly faced."

Agunas glanced at Little Husky and said no more. Since Feng Yuan had already said so, what was the point of contending? They had always felt that course of action was improper, but in reality, the other party hadn’t really broken any significant rules, so they preferred not to bother with it too much.

"But for someone to make a move during the competition... it seems they’ve come prepared..."

Little Husky shook its tail and said, "Basically, everyone can guess that there will be a lot of Divine Beasts appearing during the competition. Daring to take action at such a time is impossible without preparation." Feng Yuan naturally had some doubts as well since there didn’t seem to be many methods available that could counter Divine Beasts.

"There are no problems on Odinis’s side, are there?"

"You’re worried... that someone is colluding with them?"

Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s question, Agunas quickly reacted and, after some thought, said,

"I’m not clear on that, now it’s Him who’s blocking Odinis, and we’ve basically all pulled back. Even if we wanted to ask, it would be..."

"I see..."

After hearing Agunas’s reply, Little Husky closed its eyes. Lao Wei, somewhat puzzled, said,

"He wouldn’t go ask Him directly, would he?"

"He probably would."

Agunas glanced at Lao Wei as he answered. Although he was somewhat dissatisfied with Lao Wei, he wouldn’t drive him away at such a moment; after all, the other party had brought such important information.

Sitting to the side, Dou Yanlan and Qi Chen were silently eating. Although Qi Chen tried to understand what exactly was happening through their conversation, he could not analyze anything without a clear picture of the situation. Sitting next to him, Dou Yanlan frowned as well but could only barely guess that someone wanted to do something during the competition.

But Yanlan was unable to analyze Lao Wei’s identity or other matters. However, she guessed that the group planning to make a move during the competition must be quite strong, even potentially having the strength to contend with Divine Beasts for a short duration; otherwise, they would never dare to take action with so many Divine Beasts in attendance.

After a while, Little Husky opened its eyes and said,

"There’s been no breakthrough in Odinis’s blockade, so if there is a connection, it should be remnants from before."

"Enemies left from the previous large-scale attack event?"

"However, why would they choose to make a move at this time..."

Lao Wei was confused. Although those guys occasionally did some seemingly odd things, they rarely acted so foolishly as to confront a group of Divine Beasts head-on? He didn’t think the remaining enemies still had much strength.

They couldn’t deal with Divine Beasts before, so how could they possibly manage now with their strength greatly reduced?

"Not sure, we’ll see how things go, do you have any more specific intelligence?"

Shaking his head, Lao Wei said in a low voice,

"No, this information was obtained by chance, I’m not very clear on the specifics."

Recalling the events that had recently occurred, Little Husky thoughtfully said,

"I think I might have guessed a possibility, but if that’s the case... come to my dormitory this afternoon."

"What for?"

Lao Wei looked at Feng Yuan with some surprise. Although the security level of their school had been raised again due to the visitors from Shangjing, it made no difference to Lao Wei who continued to come and go freely. He was just curious about what Feng Yuan was planning to do.

"There’s something I need your help with, otherwise it wouldn’t be good to capsize in the gutter."

"What are you thinking of?"

Little Husky, with a reluctant shake of its tail, said,

"Just a speculation, but anyway, could you deliver a message for me?"

"I can."

Lao Wei agreed without a second thought. If the situation wasn’t special, he believed Feng Yuan wouldn’t ask for his help.

"Who exactly is that Lao Wei?"

After parting from Lao Wei, on the way back to school, Dou Yanlan focused on the Little Husky on top of Big Cat and asked in a low voice,

"Why do you ask?"

"Could he be..."

"Don’t worry, he won’t do us any harm."

Little Husky answered without hesitation, and Agunas glanced at Dou Yanlan and said,

"Rest assured, he is not our enemy."

Relieved by Agunas’s words, Dou Yanlan apologized after a moment of thought,

"Sorry, I was overthinking it."

"It’s okay, you have sharp instincts."

Agunas replied calmly, while Qi Chen, puzzled, watched the two of them, not quite understanding what had happened.
