Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 1000 - 1001: The Secret on the Cliff

Chapter 1000: Chapter 1001: The Secret on the Cliff

"There shouldn’t be any dangerous areas up ahead, right?"

Qi Chen looked at the rock wall ahead with some worry, while Feng Yuan, who had shifted back into human form, glanced at Veronia holding a western-style parasol and Agunas following behind and disdainfully said,

"Even if it is a wild danger zone, so what? With them here, are you still afraid? Besides, this area is frequently active with humans, how could there be any danger?"

Although the rock wall in front wasn’t very tall, about two meters or so, the earth’s fault line spread from the river toward both sides. If they tried to find a gentler path to climb up, it wouldn’t be a good choice. As they moved forward, the trees became denser, only near the river could they still see the sky.

Looking at Ah Mu, Feng Yuan said,

"Shall we let it carry us up?"

"There’s no need for that much trouble."

Veronia, carrying her small parasol, came over and lightly waved her hand. Golden light formed steps that extended from the river below straight up to the rushing water above. She then provocatively glanced at Agunas and said,

"Isn’t that better?"

"It really is impressive."

Cen Chudie exclaimed. Although unsure what Attribute Divine Beast Veronia was, she seemed quite capable of handling such obstructions. Consider that even those Spirit Beast masters who pride themselves on their outdoor survival skills were only so due to the variety of Spirit Beasts they travelled with, which complemented each other to solve various problems.

Veronia, haughtily raising her head, seemed to pay no mind to Cen Chudie’s words, but Agunas noticed the particularly triumphant smile on her face.

Following the light-staircase over the fault line, seeing the scenery above, Feng Yuan exclaimed,

"I didn’t expect there to be this here..."

"These things... they don’t seem to have medicinal value, do they?"

Cen Chudie frowned slightly, not quite understanding what Feng Yuan meant. Yun You came up smiling at the surroundings and said,

"So beautiful~"

"What medicinal value... isn’t being beautiful enough?"

Feng Yuan looked at Cen Chudie somewhat speechlessly. Why did he feel her focus was a bit odd? Qi Chen followed Ah Mu up, with Ah Mu’s gigantic size unable to ascend the small steps. Ultimately, the rock wall wasn’t too high, so Ah Mu simply carried Qi Chen by manipulating vines to lift him up to the surface.

Standing on the ground, Qi Chen looked around at the blooming flowers and said in surprise,

"Is this... deliberately planted?"

"It shouldn’t be, at least the people from Cotton Orchid Manor wouldn’t run so far to do this."

As Feng Yuan spoke, he looked at Yun You. As for Cen Chudie? From her previous remarks, he knew she certainly wouldn’t know even if it were planted by Cotton Orchid Manor. Smiling and shaking his head, Yun You said,

"No, we’ve never been here before; I didn’t expect to still find such a beautiful place hidden here~"

The radiant flowers freely bloomed their beauty among the dark green bushes while the stream gently pooled forming a shallow bank shimmering with speckles of starlight under the sun. The stones below, smoothed by the stream’s constant flow over the years, gleamed at the center of the shallow bank, where an ancient tree stood, its patchy bark full of traces left by the years, seemingly like an elder entering his later years compared to the surrounding lush trees.

Both Feng Yuan and Veronia could sense the immense Life Force within that old tree; it must be a Spirit Plant that had endured extensive years, yet sadly, it still could not resist the erosion of time. Feng Yuan could feel that amongst the mighty Life Force of the old tree was now tinged with a hint of the dying day.

Xiao Ji happily ran around on the bank, even though it wasn’t particularly fond of water, nor did it know what constituted a beautiful view. However, it felt very joyful and comfortable with the scenery here.

"If it’s not human-made, then it really is a miraculous natural formation."

Watching all this, Feng Yuan sighed, "As for Spirit Beasts? They generally don’t act like this, even if some of them are called artists, but the Spirit Beasts distributed around Maomu City are not of this type."

However, reality quickly proved him wrong as a spherical Spirit Beast holding a dark green lotus leaf emerged from the nearby bushes, humming a tune and lightly waving the leaf stem, causing crystal clear droplets to fall from the tilted lotus leaf. Nourished by the droplets, the flowers appeared even more vivid.

"Can it be? Are there really Flower Leaf Fairies here?"

The Flower Leaf Fairy, seemingly unconcerned that someone was watching it, continued to hum to itself as it watered the plants, prompting Cen Chudie to express her doubts,

"That can’t be right? The known habitat of Flower Leaf Fairies doesn’t include this area, and I’ve never heard of a settlement of them around here. Could it have wandered over from somewhere else?"

Veronia, holding a parasol, approached the scene. The creature turned its head, looking strangely at this oddly dressed woman. At least, it had never seen a human dressed like this venture to such a place before. Veronia, donning a pristine white noble dress and untouched princess gown, as if the surroundings had nothing to do with the wilderness.

Seeing the creature eyeing her curiously, Veronia smiled proudly. Just then, the Flower Leaf Fairy, noticing something surprising about Veronia, realized she was a Divine Beast, not a human, due to an accidental release of her energy.

"What bad taste."

Seeing Veronia teasing the Flower Leaf Fairy, Feng Yuan sneered disdainfully, to which Agunas glared at him and said,

"You’re one to talk."

"Whatever."

"So does this mean you’ve been living here long before the guardian war? It’s really surprising that no one had discovered you before."

After hearing Veronia’s introduction, Feng Yuan was quite surprised and addressed the Flower Leaf Fairy, having assumed it was a recent wanderer. It turned out the creature had been residing here for quite some time. As for why it had come here and decided to settle, Veronia hadn’t figured out.

The Flower Leaf Fairy nodded as if in agreement. Looking at the beautiful scenery, Feng Yuan asked Cen Chudie somewhat puzzledly,

"So you all never discovered this place before?"

"We wouldn’t wander so far without reason, no matter what, it’s still quite a distance from Cotton Orchid Manor."

The other party rolled her eyes dismissively, stating that if it weren’t for Feng Yuan’s suggestion, they would never have come to such a place. Though still within the safe range of human activities, this area was practically indistinguishable from the wilderness otherwise. That’s why they hadn’t heard anyone mention Flower Leaf Fairies for such a long time.

Big Cat walked to the edge of the bushes, staring at the flowers for a long time, which puzzled the nearby Flower Leaf Fairy. Turning around, Big Cat meowed at Feng Yuan, prompting Agunas to translate the message of the flowers,

"It says these flowers don’t have any practical use."

"Well, of course, these aren’t Spiritual Medicines; what use could they have? But aren’t they pretty enough?"

Feng Yuan said with a chuckle, not understanding what Big Cat was thinking. Isn’t being pretty enough?

Veronia touched one of the pink flowers, and instantly it turned into a golden yellow, shining with a crystal gleam. Agunas looked at Veronia, speechless, and commented,

"You really should... keep your odd preferences to yourself, okay?"

"What do you mean ’odd preferences’?!"

Veronia glared at Agunas, a bit annoyed, as Agunas flicked his tail without explaining. Feng Yuan watched the somewhat jarring golden flower among the myriad of pink and red blossoms, which now stood out even more as it shimmered.

Seeing that it was indeed improper, Veronia waved her hand, restoring the flower to its original state and glared at Agunas before turning away with a cold huff, heading towards the ancient tree under her parasol.

However, the Flower Leaf Fairy seemed particularly concerned about that ancient tree. Seeing Veronia approach the tree, it immediately rushed over to block her path, warning her off, while Agunas smiled smugly,

"It seems others don’t trust you either."

Veronia glared at Agunas, deciding not to force her way towards the ancient tree.
