Chapter 73: Hunger for Power

The explosion was significant, but it didn’t extend beyond the area where Mia was standing.

It made no sound, nor did it cause the world to tremble.

Even the air halted before her.

However, it was unexpected and quick, dropping both Yun Qiqi’s and Noa’s hearts to the ground.

"Big sister?" the little one yelped, her eyes already watering.

Noa, on the other hand, dashed toward Mia, trying to check her condition.

"She is fine," Seris said suddenly.

She was right.

Mia appeared to be in perfect condition, her eyes gleaming with life as if nothing had happened to her only moments ago.

What’s more, she seemed more energetic, the previous exhaustion nowhere to be found.

"Are you okay?" Noa asked still.

Mia looked at him for a second, her mind racing, studying her completely unharmed body.

She was observing herself from head to toe. Then she looked up at everyone else, her voice wavering with excitement. "That... that felt nice."

Hearing her statement, Noa blinked.

’Not only is she fine, but that explosion felt nice?’ he repeated in his head, staring at her again, as if trying to make sure that she was actually doing good.

"I-It was marvelous," Mia added, grinning.

Now her voice carried a trace of happiness as well, finally calming Noa’s nerves.

It had been barely a day since they had reunited, and for a moment, he thought he had lost her again. This time it was more dangerous.

But seeing her usual temper, he sighed in relief.

Yun Qiqi arrived before her, clutching her tiny hands around Mia’s waist.

She was glad for her survival.

Much like Noa, she looked concerned, worry evident on her face.

Mia spent the next two minutes talking to her, proving that the explosion did no harm to her body and mind alike.

On the contrary, she felt lighter.

It wasn’t only about her weight, as her spirit felt liberated, stronger even.

Amidst her long explanation, Seris chimed in, offering her vast knowledge to help her better understand her situation.

"It’s happened because you linked with all seven elements this world has to offer. This is extremely rare, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no one like that in this galaxy."

’That rare?’ Noa thought inwardly, almost jumping in joy.

Yes, his sister was a trillion times more talented than others and could potentially shake every world in their galaxy and maybe beyond.

But it didn’t discourage him.

If Mia were a trillion times stronger, he would just make trillions in every world.

It would at least ensure that he won’t lose too much to her.

There was no hint of jealousy in his heart—only happiness as he cheered for her, clutching his chest tight.

Meanwhile, Seris had more to say on this matter.

"With this talent, you are guaranteed to reach the apex of this universe. I am glad and honored to serve you and your brother with the best of my abilities."

Her tone was softer than ever.

Even her long hair moved with each word she muttered, agreeing with her.

"Can you expand on that? What do you mean by the apex of this universe?" Mia questioned, her lips parting with emotion.

Noa was watching her closely.

He found greed in her eyes.

There was a strong dedication and a hunger for power as well.

’That’s my sister!’ Noa said to himself, feeling proud of his little sibling.

Seris, however, showed no reactions.

"Again, I am sorry that my information network is short and I can’t offer answers to your questions," she said, locking eyes with Noa and Mia simultaneously.

"But I know that it would allow you to soar in strength very quickly. So much so that becoming Dao Immortal would be child’s play—let alone reaching the True Immortal stage."

Silence fell.

It stretched, covering the entire hall as if even the stars held their breath.

Only clouds remained ignorant of the situation, swirling around playfully and conjuring gusts of wind that spoke louder than even the loudest breath in the room.

Only Noa dared to break it.

"That sounds like great news, but..." he paused, darting his eyes around.

He was completely ignoring Xue Hanly, Qing Xuan, and Chen Hao, making them feel completely out of place.

Still, he continued smoothly, as if the challenge was just a single step he had to overcome.

"But why do I sense that there is something bad about this?"

Mia nodded as well.

She couldn’t fully explain it, but she also guessed that something was wrong.

It started when the world seemed to oppose her.

Even the air seemed scared, forcing her to stop the awakening process.

And now that she still won and achieved the full elemental affinity, the strange tingling sensation didn’t vanish.

"Correct guess," Seris agreed.

"The planet itself and its rules were designed to protect it from destruction. Now that it feels threatened by you, things will only get harder.

Fate will rise against you, misfortune will fall, and destiny itself will crumble—all for the single purpose of destroying you."

The siblings gulped.

Yet Mia had always been good at putting up a strong front.

At least that’s what Noa thought before she opened her mouth and spoke with a confidence that even he would gladly take notes from.

"So I have to fight against heaven? Isn’t that like the coolest thing ever?"

No hesitation.

No fear or uncertainty.

She felt like a main character who had to rise from nothing and destroy the very world that opposed her.

Noa was proud of her again.

Yun Qiqi, however, exclaimed once more, causing even the clouds to stop for a second.

"You are so cool! I don’t think that the worldcan win against you!"

Noa nodded at her words, remembering the book they had started the awakening ceremony for in the first place.

And as he was about to remind Mia of her love of fireballs, something glided through the floor.

His eyes narrowed instantly.

"What is a slime doing here?" he questioned, trying to catch the little creature.
