Chapter 55: Farewell and Egg

"Leave? Why are you telling her to leave?" Yun Qiqi protested, pouting.

Mia only lowered her head.

She knew that she had to go back.

Not only because of the studies, but because of Dad as well.

He would be worried, and neither she nor Noa wanted that.

So she didn’t try to argue.

Though she wanted to stay, cultivate, and experience more of this wonderful world, it was time to say goodbye to it.

However, it was only for a while.

She could return later.

When the time was right, but until then, she had to go back to her ordinary life.

Noa noticed her emotions and comforted her as well.

"The shop is always open for you. You know that," he said, locking eyes with her.

Mia nodded.

"I know," she said, pausing to find better words. "But everything feels so surreal... I am afraid that it will all disappear."

She wasn’t only talking about the store.

She meant Noa and their reunion, too, her face saying it all.

Seeing this, Noa patted her head, grinning.

"I missed your sulking," he teased, squishing her cheeks.

Mia was shy.

She wasn’t used to experiencing affection from her brother, and her cheeks flushed red from embarrassment.

Yun Qiqi saw this little encounter and straightened her back.

She understood, or at least tried to understand, why she was leaving.

And clutching Senior Bao tightly, she hugged her new sister with a warm embrace, whispering in her ear.

"I will protect him before you come back."

Mia chuckled, seeing her serious expression.

Now it was her time to squish Qiqi’s cheeks and make them painfully red.

Next, it was time for the portal to appear.

Noa willed it to happen, and thankfully, the robotic and soulless system granted his wish, allowing the portal to materialize in front of him.

The air cracked.

The floor shook.

Everything that the rift had caused in previous times was happening right now as well.

Then—

Mia looked at them, a playful smile dancing on her face.

There was no sign of sadness or embarrassment on them as she hopped inside the portal, disappearing inside.

’Just like that,’ Noa thought, sighing. ’She is gone now.’

Yun Qiqi had reached out to his hand before Noa even knew it, looking up at him with an adorable expression.

For a while, neither of them said anything.

They just exchanged a silent glance.

Suddenly, the little girl’s mouth opened in a yawn as she had spent the entire night awake.

’I am such a bad guardian,’ he realized, his voice deepening.

"Go and sleep! Now!" he called out, pointing at the hallway.

Qiqi blinked at him.

Thankfully, even her infinite energy seemed to run out, and she nodded in exhaustion, heading towards her room.

Noa liked her attitude and went to his own chamber.

He left the entrance door unlocked, so Qing Xuan and Xue Hanly could just walk in and start their shift.

The first thing he noticed in his room was a familiar little egg.

It still rested on his bed, unmoving.

There was no visible change in it, as if the little fellow would never leave its home.

’Let’s see how our new room looks and if it can help this little pal,’ he considered, walking out of his room.

Just wishing to step inside his mysterious chamber and open any door in his building was enough, allowing Noa to reach it with ease.

’Hell, this place is huge,’ he thought inwardly.

It was a vast place with a calm, relaxing atmosphere.

Not only were the walls pretty, they also had a nice, sweet scent to them, making his thoughts flow faster.

It was so peaceful and refreshing that even Noa felt that nothing could anger him.

The Bonding Room didn’t only have walls for its name.

Noa could customize aura light, spiritual pressure, and even mana potency.

It allowed him to create perfect environments for each spirit beast and ensure their maximum comfort.

The chamber had no cages.

There was no need for them, but there were small spaces that looked like a separate dimension for each creature to live in.

"Now," he muttered, tapping on the egg. "You will stay here until you hatch."

The mana-hungry creature didn’t move.

However, the mana that Noa added in this personalized space pulsed before surrounding the egg.

Then, out of nowhere, it started devouring mana like it was air.

Minutes passed by, and no matter how many particles moved in its direction, the little fellow didn’t stop.

It was greedy and powerful.

Noa could tell that much by observing the sheer amount of energy the egg was consuming every second.

’I bet it’s gonna be a fat one,’ Noa mused, chuckling.

It was like a black hole, burning under its absolute presence.

And knowing that it wouldn’t end anytime soon, Noa left the Binding Room and lay on his bed.

But before the sleep arrived, he had to spend the remaining 30 Tycoon Points.

At least a big chunk of it.

So he browsed through the options, searching for something that might catch his fancy.

The rooms, floors, and products were all amazing.

Yet, Noa wanted something more.

Though his progress was astonishingly fast, his wealth had reached three digits, and his ability to earn more improved every day, Noa still wanted something more.

Something that would alleviate his dimensional tycoon status and allow him completely new things.

Fortunately, he found options that did exactly that.

Perhaps even more.

Its name was Cross-world License, and it was a permit that unlocked access to a branching mechanism.

By obtaining this license, Noa could open branches in different cities.

Though the physical shop would remain in Hollow Jade City, it would allow people from all over the world to stumble upon it anyway.

Unfortunately, this great deal was still locked for him.

Noa couldn’t buy this licence.

But not all hope was lost.

There was one more permit he could buy with the same name and qualities.

However, instead of reaching the entire planet, it could only cover the Black Flame Empire, limiting his range and potential customers.

But—

"It’s enough," Noa said aloud, pressing his finger to the purchase button.
