Chapter 54: Lucky Beast Box
Chapter 54: Lucky Beast Box
"I am going to open it," Yun Qiqi said, her loud voice echoing in the room.
She didn’t wait for long and unraveled the box, putting her tiny hands inside to find something interesting.
"I found something," she exclaimed in surprise, and took a small, chewy treat out.
It was shaped like a miniature mystical beast—a nine-tailed fox, to be precise. It had orange, sugar-dusted tails and looked delicious.
"A fox?" Qiqi muttered in amazement.
Noa nodded with a curious smile, while Mia observed closely.
"You should try it first," the girl said, offering the older girl the first taste.
Mia gulped.
She touched the soft texture of the snack, gave it a cautious sniff, and then took a quick bite.
The fox melded instantly.
It made a soft pop sound on her tongue, followed by something fizzy and sour, like a jelly with cola flavor.
Suddenly, her brows twitched.
Then her hands started shaking, and her lips parted into a thin smile.
It was only the beginning.
And when she blinked repeatedly, the world seemed to crack around her.
Mia’s freshly awakened qi pathways surged with untapped power, and impurities from her body began dissolving, while her core was infused with the most potent essence in this world.
It wasn’t just a cultivation.
The situation wasn’t that simple.
It felt more like connecting with the force of nature, allowing her potential to spike even further.
She opened her eyes.
Then blinked again. The world settled.
"This..." she started, looking at her fingertips. "This was incredible. As if I leaped. A long leap towards something far beyond human capabilities."
Yun Qiqi stared in awe.
"So cool," she said, her eyes widening.
Noa smirked, standing beside them.
"I knew it would be good. But even I wasn’t sure what it could do. Guess I sell jelly now."
Mia exhaled sharply.
"It’s not just any jelly. I am not sure if you two noticed it, but there was a sound. Not in the store. In my head—it echoed in me. It called me, spoke to me."
Noa lowered his brows, looking at his sister with a satisfied smile.
"Can you remember what it was?" he asked carefully.
Mia shook her head.
She massaged her temples before saying, her voice low and hoarse with too much energy,
"I don’t know. It felt like me... As if I were talking to myself in the future, and it recognized me."
"Interesting," Qiqi said this time. "You might be more talented than we thought."
Noa agreed as well, nodding.
He then let the silence settle for a while, allowing Mia to get used to her new sensations.
There was more for her to see.
Two minutes later, she decided to take the box out of Qiqi’s hands and see what kind of toy it had to offer.
To her surprise, the toy was a fox again.
But this time, it wasn’t made of jelly.
Instead, it was a plastic, orange fox with a mechanical key on the back.
"This is a joke, right?" she asked, glancing at Noa.
He, however, shook his head, explaining in a soft voice, "It might look like a kid’s toy from Earth, but here, it won’t be that simple."
Mia could only shrug at his words.
She blinked a couple of times before turning the key.
The fox moved across the floor like a cute little animal, clicking and dashing around the room.
Then—
It stopped.
So did Mia, as a burst of unseen energy flowed through her chest.
Her heart pounded once.
Then faster, not allowing her silent thoughts to catch up.
And before her mind could understand what was happening, or even her eyes could blink, she opened them to find herself standing in a completely new location.
Thankfully, she was still inside the store.
But her body became quicker, as the fox released a brief surge of agility and reflex boost, allowing her to move like a fox.
"This is amazing," Mia muttered, trying not to lose the fleeting sensation.
Even though the fox burned to ashes, its efficiency was immense.
It could only last up to five minutes, but the effect was almost immediate. This could easily determine the outcome of the battles.
’I bet this will be a hit,’ Noa thought to himself.
He was glad.
The Lucky Beast Box was one of the better options in the current market.
{Lucky Beast Box}
Description: A colorful and fun mystery box filled with a sweet treat, a beast toy, and a pencil for cultivators of all ages. Each box contains a limited-edition beast-themed product.
Features: Mystery
Rarity: Epic
Price: 11 TP (Six months’ worth of supply)
Though the features were hidden, Noa risked and won like a true tycoon.
Now it was time for Qiqi.
The little girl took another box, unpacked it, and found two teddy bears and a brown pencil in it.
"Senior Bao, look!" she exclaimed upon spotting the toy.
It looked like her teddy bear, and her wish to get Senior Bao a friend had come true.
Yun Qiqi then poked it.
It only squeaked and made no other sound.
Not even turning the key did anything for her.
Next came the snack, a green gummy bear with a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness.
She nodded in approval after tasting it.
As for the pencil, it was a simple item made for drawing, and neither of the girls could find any other use for it.
Before the sun crept to his window, Noa offered Mia to test other products as well.
She started with a Rubik’s Cube.
It clicked and twisted according to her vision, obeying her every command. She solved it quickly, basking in its divine effects.
Later, she sipped the protein shake.
It had a thick but smooth texture to it, letting Mia enjoy her moment.
Then came the spinner.
With a metallic and cold touch to it, the toy was fairly easy to use. She got the full effect out of it, allowing her mind to reach the ultimate calmness.
She was commenting on each product, sharing her honest opinions.
And once she was done with everything and the first light touched Hollow Jade City, Noa sighed and announced,
"It’s time for you to leave."
