Chapter 53: System

"Let’s start with..." Mia started squinting her eyes.

It felt like a tough decision to make because she wanted the first product to be memorable for her.

"What are you two suggesting?" she asked, expecting their help to make up her mind. "What is your favorite item on the menu?"

Noa didn’t even hesitate, pointing at the Protein Shakes.

Its sweetness, unforgettable aroma, and freshness were unlike anything he had ever tasted.

Yun Qiqi agreed as well.

She was a little girl, and just like every other kid, she enjoyed the sweets.

"It’s unbelievably yummy," Qiqi said, standing on her toes to reach a bottle for herself as well.

She could drink as much as she wanted.

It was the same for Noa as well, because neither of them could cultivate it, and drinking it was solely for the taste.

However, before Mia took her share, the system notification Noa had ignored popped up again.

By signing his sister, Noa had completed every mission.

And according to the rules, the system had worked this entire time—there should have been more missions listed beneath his status window.

But there was nothing.

Not a single quest.

Fortunately, the notification existed for a reason.

[The system will go through evolution sometime in the future.] It was written in a different font.

As if the partner he knew couldn’t speak suddenly.

[But before it comes back, it has a responsibility to uphold.]

There was no usual voice either.

It was just a row of text, making it sound even more robotic.

’Is it some kind of replacement?’ Noa thought, considering the situation. ’Or is it weakened because of something?’

He didn’t know what was going on.

But at least the main system features still worked, allowing him to search through the products section to add one more item on sale.

Noa also wanted to let Mia try a completely new product.

"Wait for a moment," he announced. "I have an idea."

"What is it?" Mia and Qiqi asked simultaneously, eyeing him suspiciously.

"I want to let you choose the next product on our menu. Think of something that can sell well in this world—one you would like to use yourself. Qiqi, you help her as well."

Hearing this, both of them exchanged glances.

Then they turned back on Noa, exclaiming.

"Really?" Yun Qiqi started. "I want friends for Senior Bao. I don’t want him to feel lonely."

Mia had her wish as well.

"I want a punching bag," she announced eagerly. "To train and strengthen myself."

Noa didn’t know why, but her words sent a chill down his spine.

It sounded threatening, as if not meeting her condition meant he’d be the one taking the hits.

So he gulped, looking at the sky dejectedly.

Then he looked at the younger girl.

"Senior Bao has you, me, and Mia as well. There is no way he can feel lonely."

"But..." Qiqi tried to argue, but Noa cut her off, pointing at the older girl.

"Why do you want a punching bag in this world? I can just assign sect members to help with your training."

He scolded both of them.

"Try to think of something that everyone can enjoy—something we can sell," Noa added, expecting better answers.

However, contrary to his expectation, the girls continued giving absurd requests.

They had countless demands, deepening Noa’s disappointment each time, not allowing him to make a correct choice in peace.

"Stop," he said suddenly, glaring at them.

"What?" Qiqi asked innocently, lowering her head in shame. "You don’t want to add surprise frog capsules?"

"He hates fun," Mia added, locking eyes with him.

Noa shook his head, sighing.

After the customization feature was implemented in the system, he could find a lot of things in the Tycoon Store.

Though most of them remained locked and irked him, there were countless options to choose from.

Yet, everything they said was either overpriced, useless, locked, or simply didn’t exist.

’At least I have 41 TP,’ he remembered.

This allowed him to purchase additional products, add more floors or rooms, and even customize the building even more.

Because Mia worked only as a part-timer, there was no need for another bedroom.

But items that could decorate or improve the store were necessities.

’Let’s just get this over with,’ Noa decided to start with a new product to give Mia a taste of what his shop had to offer.

So he browsed through the options.

The search turned out to be harder than he thought.

It took him five minutes to find something interesting, then another two, as it kept his mind occupied.

But looking at Yun Qiqi and her bright expression, Noa’s lips instinctively curled into a smile.

"Thanks," he said to the girl. "You gave me an idea."

"Really? What is it?" she questioned, hugging his leg. "Tell me. Tell me, what is it?"

Noa said nothing.

He tapped the purchase button on the screen and waited for the magic to unfold.

Time ticked by, and the shelves remained unchanged.

There was no air cracking.

Nor did the building begin to shake.

But when the girls were about to question what Noa selected, the light trembled.

It only lasted for a moment.

And then—

The previously empty shelves were filled with small cardboard boxes.

They were stacked neatly, making Mia tilt her head.

She reached out to pick one up before asking, "What are these? Is it like mystery boxes?"

"It’s more like a cultivation world version of a Happy Meal—a snack box with toys inside," Noa corrected, grinning.

Yun Qiqi, meanwhile, looked at both of them, feeling lost about what they were talking about.

Noa saw her confusion.

He even chuckled at her curious, wide eyes that demanded answers.

"Think of it as a surprise bundle. It contains a snack, a toy, and a pencil for you to draw with."

The girl listened carefully.

She gulped.

Then her hands moved faster than her tongue, embracing the box with awe.

Mia was no better.

She also wanted to see what was inside.

Noa, however, grinned, enjoying their expressions. "Fine," he said, still smirking. "Open it."
