Chapter 52: Cultivation

Sure, the thought of finally completing the mission and receiving a mysterious room gave Noa a sense of satisfaction.

But that wasn’t all that mattered to him right now.

Watching Mia and Yun Qiqi interact made him feel something deeper.

It started with relief.

Standing together with her after so long lifted the biggest weight from his chest.

Reunion.

Something that meant more than any mission ever could.

"Let’s make things official," he said.

"Go ahead," Mia answered. "I believe in you."

Noa said nothing.

He let her sign the papers, allowing the room to tremble with a glowing light.

"Brace yourself. You might lose consciousness," he warned.

Mia crossed her arms.

"Why are you telling me this now?"

Suddenly, the ancient light from the walls surged toward the papers and moved to envelop Mia.

She, however, stood completely still.

Time passed, but the streams of energy hadn’t affected her.

Not in the way they did others.

Then, out of nowhere, Mia’s breathing settled, a faint glow shrouding her whole. Qi seeped into her skin. They opened clogged pathways and moved toward her core.

Her eyes twitched.

Even her legs started to shake as if they began to respond to the flow of energy inside her.

Yun Qiqi clapped.

"She... She is incredible," she whispered excitedly, keeping her cool to avoid disturbing her.

Amid Mia’s focused expression, Noa had a satisfied look.

"She is cultivating already."

Instead of blacking out from the excess energy, Mia started to cultivate, allowing qi to strengthen her body.

She breathed in and out.

Though her brows furrowed, she still looked cute.

’It’s my first time seeing her this calm,’ Noa noted, enjoying the moment.

The same thing could be said about Yun Qiqi.

The little girl was just as silent, keeping her legs frozen and mouth shut.

Meanwhile, Mia continued harvesting power from the room, devouring every single qi particle like a ferocious beast.

In a while, even her body pulsed with energy.

The surrounding air cracked, awakening something profound inside her.

Only when the glow began to dim did she snap her eyes open, observing the world more sharply than before.

"What just happened?" she questioned, her voice overflowing with awe.

"Congrats, lil sis," Noa said in a teasing tone. "You reached the Body Tempering stage—the first step in your cultivation journey."

Now it was time for the chaos.

Who would start it other than Yun Qiqi, as she could finally breathe?

"Big Sister Mia is amazing. The coolest ever," she said, beaming. "I’ve heard most cultivators take weeks to hit this stage, but you did it with ease. And... it’s only your first day here!"

She jumped around the room.

Her happiness was plain to see, alleviating the emotions Mia was feeling.

She, however, turned to Noa.

"It’s time for the product testing, right?"

Lowering his brows, Noa chuckled, not surprised by her eagerness and curiosity.

"Alright. Follow me. We need to hurry before you have to leave," he said, causing both Mia and Qiqi to protest instantly.

But as a responsible older brother, he ignored their complaints and glanced at the system panel.

» [Mission: Get 5 Employees: 5/5]

» [Reward: 25 TP; Mystery room]

It was only the beginning.

He also wanted to see how Mia’s status window looked.

Reading her panel and noticing the differences, Noa’s smile deepened.

’S for sensitivity and SS for combat potential?’ he thought, thrilled to see what kind of progress she could show in the future.

"Looks like you have some hidden potential," he said, waiting for her reaction.

Yun Qiqi spoke first.

"I knew it. There is no way she would have average talent. I bet she can soar to the heavens," she announced eagerly, hugging her sister tightly.

As for Mia, a spark of determination appeared in her eyes.

"Guess I have to help you now. Who else but me can aid my precious big brother?" she spoke sarcastically, causing both Qiqi and Noa to roll their eyes.

It was a challenge.

It was born from her playful pride.

However, knowing what his products could do, Noa wasn’t worried about who was helping whom.

So he led the way, his arms folded behind his back.

Noa was reading something—something transparent that hovered in front of him.

Of course, it was a description of the room he was granted.

{Bonding Room}

Description: A quiet chamber with walls that allow spirit beasts to cultivate

Noa chuckled to himself after reading it.

He remembered a small fellow that still rested on his bed, increasing his expectation of meeting it.

But this room wasn’t beneficial only to him.

It was directly connected to the door, so he could easily take his customers there, which would help him attract more clients and increase his revenue.

To prove his point, the system chimed in as well.

[This room will be great for you. It would allow you to nurture spiritual beasts. And it’s not limited to the creatures native to this world.]

Noa raised an eyebrow.

Surprised not by its effects, but by the system’s willingness to offer him an explanation.

It wasn’t the end, either.

[With proper investment and sharp decisions from the Tycoons, this room could become an unparalleled asset to you.]

"I can’t really go on beast hunting, can I?" he mused in his head, ignored the last system notification, and glanced at his sister.

Mia stood in front of his shelves.

She was contemplating what product to test first as she listened to Yun Qiqi’s long and detailed explanations.

Everything looked normal to her.

However, after cultivating for the very first time, she knew that everything was possible in this world.

"Let’s start with..."
