Detective Agency of the Bizarre -
Chapter 412 - 412 269
412: 269.
The Death of Aileen 412: 269.
The Death of Aileen “The guards found Lola; its fierce resistance caused the guards to show no mercy, and they chopped off its head.” Vinson leaned against the door as he entered the room, relaying the information he had gathered.
Several dark figures scurried past in the corridor outside.
“What about Sara?” Petra, lying on the sickbed, asked.
The doctor’s assistant was wrapping his severed hand, with more than a dozen bloodied gauzes discarded around the trash can at the bedside.
“Rather than worrying about a woman, you should be concerned about your own wounds,” Vinson retorted sarcastically, but still he answered, “She seems to have gone back to her room.”
“Gone back?”
Petra’s pallid face wrinkled in a frown.
“What did our investigator find out?” Vinson asked, looking at him.
“It’s probably Sara who discovered something…” Petra said thoughtfully.
If Lola was resurrected and hurt people after escaping from the basement, Sara would be the most urgent one to be near and control it, instead of hiding back in her bedroom.
Unless there was something even more troubling her in that room.
“The notebook that I peeked at!” Baron suddenly exclaimed, “I covered my tracks, she shouldn’t be able to find out…”
“That’s not for you to say,” Petra’s complexion grew paler, and after speaking, he groaned, covering the wound on his forehead, “Damn, I’m losing too much blood, let me rest a bit…”
“He’s lost a lot of blood; isn’t he getting a transfusion?” Lu Li looked towards Dr.
Mister.
“A blood transfusion?” Dr.
Mister turned around in surprise and studied Lu Li, “With the knowledge of blood transfusion, you should be aware of its dangers…
Unless he falls unconscious due to hypovolemic shock, I would not do it.”
“Is the danger so great?” Lu Li continued to ask.
“Yes, almost more than half of the patients who receive a transfusion die, especially when it comes from those quacks who perform direct blood transfusions.”
So they haven’t discovered blood typing here yet.
Lu Li took note of this.
The butler spoke up, pressing the question, “So the next one is the Baron?”
Petra nodded, “Yes, if she discovers that the notebook has been tampered with, to keep the secret, then next—”
[“You are all here.” Sara found Petra, who was being bandaged, and the servants.]
An obscure and ancient voice suddenly rose deep in his mind.
Vinson, leaning against the door, stayed close to the door frame, allowing “Sara” to enter the room in front of him.
[Maid Irene cowered behind servant Lu Li in fright; her behavior affirmed some of Sara’s suspicions.
She subdued her urgency and asked Petra a few caring questions before turning to Maid Irene, with the same expression as usual, “Irene, father has something to discuss with you.”]
[“Viscount, sir?” Irene clung to the words as if they were a lifeline, hope shining in her eyes.
That’s right!
She could tell the Viscount that it was the eldest daughter who had killed servant Lola and performed some sort of sinister ritual with his body!
“I’m going to see Viscount, sir,” Irene said, moving out from behind servant Lu Li, passing by Sara apprehensively, and hurrying out of the room.]
“I’m going to see Viscount, sir.”
The Baron imperceptibly clicked his tongue, his narrow eyes conveying a certain meaning as he exchanged a glance with Lu Li.
He left the bedroom as the plot dictated.
[“I’ll visit father with Irene.
Please continue to take care of Petra,” Sara said gently as she followed to leave with Petra.]
The butler, realizing the gravity of the situation, chased after the Baron.
With a frown creased by deep thought, Petra sighed; he had not found an excuse to stay with the Baron, his gaze falling upon Lu Li and Vinson.
“Vinson and I will go protect the Baron,” Lu Li replied to Petra’s gaze.
Consoled, Petra leaned back onto the sickbed.
“Something seems off with Aileen, I want to go have a look,” Lu Li made an excuse for this course of action and departed the room.
Vinson was about to follow when a cryptic and ancient voice sounded.
[“Something seems off with Aileen, I want to go have a look,” Maid Lu Li sharply picked up on Sara and Aileen’s abnormal emotions and hesitantly said, “Vinson, you stay here to take care of Petra.” “Hmm, leave him to me,” Servant Vinson answered.]
Vinson had no choice but to stay behind, witnessing Lu Li chase after them alone.
…
Squelch—
Footsteps sank into the garden’s mud, leaving several centimeters deep prints that were quickly filled by the surrounding waters.
The relentless rain poured down as Lu Li found the Baron’s figure in a cluster of withered shrubs within the garden.
She lay in the mud, the butler trying to help her up, while the Baron was a few meters away, with “Sara,” wielding a spade, walking towards the Baron.
“Aileen!
Miss!” Lu Li ran towards them.
[“Aileen!
Miss!” The sudden cry from behind made Sara and Aileen turn around.
Aileen hastily cried out loud to Lu Li, “Save me, the Miss wants to kill me!”]
[Maid Lu Li was taken aback by the scene before her, unsure of what to do, but instinctively moved closer to Aileen.]
Leaving a trail of footprints, with wet hair plastered to her forehead, Lu Li approached them.
[“Do you know what Aileen has done?” Sara suddenly said to Lu Li, “She dared to seduce my fiancé Francis, right in my room they actually…!” Sara’s words slowed Lu Li’s advance, and then she drew nearer to Sara.]
[“No, I didn’t, Lu Li, save me quickly, the Miss is actually going to kill—””Why did you do this!?” Sara loudly interrupted Maid Aileen’s cry for help; the bushes’ cover and their distance from the mansion ensured that only they could hear her screams, “Butler, servants, chefs, can you still deny what you’ve all done!”]
[Sara’s voice grew softer, but the negative emotions within it intensified, brimming with pain and despair, she whispered low, “I’ve always seen you as my best friend, why did you betray me…”]
[Lifting her head, Sara let Lu Li see her pained expression, “You must be able to understand me, right?
You must be feeling even more pain inside…,” walked towards Lu Li, she handed the spade to Lu Li, her voice a devilish whispering temptation, “Come, release your anger…
strike down.”]
[Lu Li’s chest heaved violently, his eyes, bloodshot with a rage called anger, he suddenly lifted his head, raising the spade, and swung it towards the screaming Aileen!]
The butler Lulu, unable to pull the Baron away, stood up, shielding the Baron behind her.
“Let go of them.”
In that moment, Lu Li whispered.
Crack!
The raised spade smashed into the accumulated water, splashing droplets far and wide, trivial compared to the torrential rain.
At the critical moment, the Butler Lulu and the Baron on the ground were both attacked by an invisible chilling force, wrapping around them and moving them out of the spade’s range.
The cryptic and ancient voice persisted.
[Shuffling back a bit, Maid Aileen narrowly avoided the blow, crying out loud, but Maid Lu Li, her reason overtaken by anger, ignored it all, lifting the spade once more, and this time it crashed down onto Maid Aileen!]
Lu Li’s pupils constricted sharply.
