Chapter 32: [32] Ellen’s urgency {end}
The atmosphere in the room turned cold alongside Zick’s temperament.
"The element that I used to perform embodiment is called Reality. Something that can change the structure of matter or even directly transform them if your mastery over it grows."
Ellen heard Zick’s word quietly, her hazy eyes growing firm by the second. Though waves of euphoria still kept flowing into her head, she had a feeling that his words were very important at the moment.
As if it could decide her fate.
"...Why are you telling me this? What do you want?" Ellen wasn’t stupid, she knew that Zick held an ulterior motive.
He probably exposed this new element to her on purpose, in the first place. However, she wasn’t uncomfortable, that’s just how politics was. Using the other parties needs to promote oneself.
"It shouldn’t be hard for you, a politically sound person, to understand the overall situation. The turbulence that is slowly brewing behind the curtains..." Zick got up and looked at the syringe that Ellen used.
Wanting to see just what kind of drug she took.
Ellen frowned and spoke calmly: "I know about it...So, is that the reason you disguised yourself a few days ago?"
Zick eyes flashed and he nodded.
’She did know...was it due to her unparalleled magic talent?’ Zick wasn’t very sure.
’I wanted to hide my second identity more thoroughly....’
Placing back the tube with drugs, Zick could only shake his head. It was jasmezu, a potent drug for dulling the senses to the limit, used on death row inmates.
’Were the doctors expecting her to die? Seems like it.’
After a moment of silence, Ellen continued: "I....can help you, my family can support you from the back too. Is that enough?" Ellen spoke with difficulty, making use of her head made her slightly dizzy.
Zick smiled at her for the first time, "I don’t need that...What I need is you. Everything about you, your talent, your prosperity, your dedication and all that you accomplish at the end."
Ellen’s eyes widened at Zick’s cynical voice, having a striking image of a demon. His words sent a jolt of chills around her body.
"I know a lot about you....Ellen. You hate your family, but still stick to them for the benefits before you. You suffered from multiple mana diseases, but still survived to this day, a commendable spirit."
Every word that came out of Zick’s mouth dampen Ellen’s mood. She lost, or more specifically, was crushed in psychological standing by him.
"You want me to be a subordinate...?" Ellen was confused and resistant to the idea. And the words Zick spoke, as if even her soul belonged to him, made her feel goosebumps.
Zick’s eyes glazed over, since he spoke his demand. It was time to lay out some benefits.
"In return, I will give what your heart desires the most. This reality element, you can have it. This should be enough to promote you to a high position in the magic tower." Zick opened his hand beautifully.
"Take my hand and I will give it all along with your life." Zick extended his hand solemnly, continuing: "You should have noticed, your body probably can’t hold on till tomorrow."
Ellen lifted her head, gazing into Zick’s red eyes and she could feel that something very dangerous was hidden behind them.
"....A demon contract...?"
Zick scoffed: "We can sign a demon contact if you want, doesn’t change anything."
[1,000 destiny points are required, is the host sure?]
Zick waited for Ellen’s reply.
Ellen shakily extended her hand to clasp Zick’s outstretched hand. She was at the weakest moment of her life, both physically and mentally. And she desperately wanted someone to extend their hand to help her.
In the end, her desperation for life won over her struggle with pride.
Seeing Ellen clasping his hand tightly, Zick wondered if it was good that she was high, making it easier for him to convince her.
’Give it to me, system.’
Instantly, a special contract floated before both of them. It was a demon contract, having a crueler ending for the one who breaks the contract.
[1,000 destiny points have been deducted.]
Showing his speciality, Zick began creating a slave contract immediately sitting beside Ellen.
"...You shouldn’t use those drugs any more." Zick spoke with goodwill in heart. He always looked after his subordinates, especially those who are useful.
"...." Ellen wasn’t confused for long about signing a contract with Zick. She lifted her mood, seeing that she could survive.
"Place your finger here, with your blood of course." Zick was solemn. He was sure that whatever misfortune the system was speaking about may occur any time after Ellen signs this contract.
Ellen’s good mood was dampened, seeing Zick really taking out a demon contract. Though they are easy to make, there was no market for it due to the scarcity of its production material.
As she read through it, Ellen couldn’t help but rub her temple a few times.
A through and through slave contract....and more than anything, she actually couldn’t find a single flaw.
After going to and fro, Ellen sighed and bit her thumb slightly and placed it on the place Zick pointed at.
Immediately, the contract was dispersed into red particles and flew into each of their body’s.
After sensing the connection between Ellen and himself, Zick was satisfied at last.
"Delay leads to changes, let’s go to a good clinic I know. I can treat your Syepterc disease there, with better assistance." Zick thought about Dr. Brawn while speaking to Ellen.
As for getting past the front gate? Zick decided to take a leave for tomorrow, the same for Ellen. The process didn’t take long using their mobile.
’Hmm, they actually cut 10 GP?...I should be able to acquire it again.’ Zick didn’t let it bother him.
The only problem was Ellen, Zick had to tidy her up, Which took a while. In the end, he put a hat and sun glass on Ellen to hide her clumsy appearance.
’...I’m definitely not cut out to take care of kids.’ Zick led Ellen with a hand supporting her slightly. In reality, he was using mana to help her move more efficiently.
He didn’t care about the gazes of the receptionist and bodyguards.
Crossing the front gate easily with consent, Zick sat on his bike along with Ellen.
Being in contact with Zick so up close, Ellen’s heart kept steering as she controlled her expression.
"Have you thought about marriage? Any partner in mind?" Zick wondered if he would need to kill him if there was one.
"No...." Ellen was embarrassed by Zick’s question, but still answered truthfully.
"Though it may be sudden, I want you to marry me. Take your time considering it, I’m sure there is nothing but benefits in it for you and me. It will be easier for us both to work together this way."
Zick was ready to present a few more benefits if Ellen rejected the idea outright.
"I will think about it...." Ellen pressed her forehead on Zick’s back, really tired by all the bombshells that were thrown onto her.
Well.... Marrying didn’t seem strange since she already belonged to Zick. Ellen thought and closed her eyes.
Mayherd medical hospital,
Arriving at his destination, Zick helped Ellen walk and led her to the reception.
Making another immediate appointment with Dr. Brawn, Zick smiled at the scrutinizing face of Ellen.
She didn’t understand why Zick brought her to such a remote clinic.
Making it to Dr. Brawn, Zick explained the situation to him and asked a few precautions to consider before using [Reality manipulation] on a living being.
"....What do you plan on giving in exchange for the information?" Dr. Brawn questioned without any expression.
"You name it." Zick pursed his lips, feeling passive.
"I got to know that you have quite a lot of connections in the underworld, from all the information that you provide. Help me find a few more ’Patients’." Dr. Brawn already planned on asking this from Zick, in the next meeting.
"...Okay, I will try my best."
Dr. Brawn nodded after getting Zick’s affirmation. He directly transferred information into Zick’s head.
’....Oh, it’s similar to how the system does it...’ Zick was curious for a while.
Ellen watched the whole process, understanding that this hospital was more than what meets the eye. She couldn’t talk about this matter to anyone though, as she couldn’t hurt Zick in any way.
"....."
After entering Dr. Brawn’s workplace, Ellen was sure that this place was used for human experiments. Her expression grew gloomy slightly.
"....What? Scared?" Zick looked at all the instruments that he didn’t get the chance to see before.
Ellen shook her head, she knew that the contract would be invalid if Zick couldn’t fix her Syepterc disease. That was the reason that she signed it in the first place.
"I will keep my end of contract if you can really save me." Ellen spoke seriously.
All that belonged to her and would belong to her in future, Ellen was ready to present it all to Zick.
What was the reason for her aspiration to become the strongest mage? Wasn’t it for acknowledgement?
It all didn’t matter once her life was threatened.
