Destined Villain's Life -
Chapter 33: [33] Operation and future plans.
Chapter 33: [33] Operation and future plans.
As Zick used the scanner to fully understand Ellen’s situation, he was slightly surprised at start.
The chaos cells that were only comparable to a fist in size, grew to cover Ellen’s half body. It was draining life-force and growing further at a noticeable rate.
"Is it bad?" Ellen frowned.
"You would have normally died within the next morning." Zick answered without hesitation.
The sudden death notice didn’t shake Ellen anymore. She stared closely at Zick’s calm expression and felt her mind cool down too.
Zick looked through the parameters for a while, before deciding to modify his plan.
Level 2 [Reality manipulation] might not be able to deal with Ellen’s Syepterc disease completely. However, such a matter didn’t put much pressure on Zick’s mind.
Wasn’t this the perfect time to use [Assimilation (SS)]?
’I should have checked Ellen’s condition before exchanging information with Dr. Brawn....’
It was late to regret his action now. He instead looked forward to what he might acquire after absorbing Ellen’s chaos cells.
"It might hurt a little, deal with it." Zick coldly placed his index finger on Ellen’s waist, where chaos cell’s core was.
No anesthesia was used on Ellen due to her drug intake. There would be an adverse effect if injected into her body.
Taking a scalpel, Zick made a small incision on Ellen, right before where his nail touched.
[Assimilation activated]
The reaction was almost instantaneous, dark liquid seeped out of the small incision and seeped into Zick’s finger. The strength of [Assimilation] was controlled precisely, not enlarging the incision at all.
"Ugh...." Ellen closed her eyes tighter.
Taking glances at the screen with Ellen’s feeds, Zick wasn’t surprised seeing taints of chaos cells, sticking to some of Ellen’s interior.
There has been no doctor who has been able to clear these chaos cells out successfully.
Getting rid of them at once from the root was the only way. That’s the reason the reality element was crucial in the procedure.
Absorbing around two-third of the chaos cells, Zick activated [Reality manipulation].
A clean operation, without a single hiccup, that’s all Dr. Brawn could say, seeing Zick’s calm movement.
Applying healing potion on the incision, Zick scanned around for any abnormalities.
’Quite a clean operation for my first time....’ Zick was satisfied and smiled at the speechless Ellen.
"Was the service satisfying enough?"
Ellen slowly rose up, feeling the weakness from her body vanishing into thin air. She appeared to be staring blankly at a single place, in reality she was also looking into her body.
[Ellen’s favourability+20. You have obtained 12,000 destiny points and your destiny has been promoted to the peak of very rare.]
[A strand of misfortune has been branded on the host. Please be careful of the consequences.]
Looking at both the good and bad news, Zick fell into Contemplation.
After confirming her condition, Ellen felt her heart to be free at last. Her pale face grew rosy visibly.
"How did you find out about my disease?" Ellen questioned curiously, wondering if there were any traitors in her family.
Watching Ellen gain her previous calmness, Zick rubbed his chin slightly.
The relationship between them was already built, it was a good chance to have a chat now and decide on future actions.
"You are underestimating the underworld’s connections."
It can be seen how terrifying the underworld was, as they already suspected Ellen of having Syepterc, before even the said person knew about it.
"I see...."
It wasn’t hard for Ellen to accept Zick’s words. Wondering if she should also extend her hands towards the pie, named underworld.
"After you get a high position in the magic tower, vice-president or atleast a candidate for it - just drop out of [Alter] academy. They can’t provide much help to your growth." Zick spoke with a contemplating expression.
Twirling the white hair near her ear, Ellen watched Zick’s commanding attitude.
"....What are you planning on doing?" Ellen asked the question she was most curious about.
"Are you aware of Ethereal’s existence?"
Zick went on explaining about Ethereal for a hour. There was of course a silver lining, he never spoke of any of his own grievances.
He portrayed Ethereal like a colossal foreign organisation, who were trying to conquer this world.
"I’m just building an organization for the eventual...."
The more Ellen listened to Zick, her expression dropped further.
A continent was already taken over?
And only a few people knew about this?
Ellen didn’t think Zick was lying, as all this information can be confirmed one way or the other. Her mind took a while to digest the information and started calculating a few things.
"You think that the Jolheim family will betray your father? Is that the reason you brought up marriage?"
Ellen’s focus wasn’t on Ethereal yet, She was actually more interested in Zick.
’Well....I’m his subordinate now.’ Ellen sighed internally. She didn’t regret her action, but still felt depressed about being subordinated.
"I don’t care about Jolheim. Actually, they are the easiest family to destroy among the families that will eventually join hands with Ethereal."
Zick didn’t take the Jolheim family seriously, he knew more than a single piece of information that could destroy this family.
"....You should actually leave that family fast. Alas, your name may be tainted by their actions, when the time comes." Zick worried about Ellen, not willing to let this hot stock have any defect.
"So you want me to marry into your family?" Ellen showed an enlightened expression.
Zick paused and nodded his head in approval.
’She is still not focusing on the main point....the drug must be still affecting her.’
Zick and Ellen had already moved up to Dr. Brawn’s reception, sitting nearly with their shoulders touching.
Ellen frowned, deep in thought. She wasn’t very resistant to the idea as she was at the beginning. Her goodwill towards Zick was at an all time high, as she wasn’t ordered to do anything unpleasant yet.
Though, Zick could order her to do so if he wanted to. Even with the matter about marriage, he could have forced her easily.
Though appearing emotionless, Ellen was flustered internally. She couldn’t help but overthink about the sudden marriage. She too was just a young girl in the end.
Truthfully, Ellen had half given up on her family after listening to Zick. She knew about Jolheim better than anyone and unfortunately, she didn’t have any power over her family either.
Watching Ellen blush slightly in her own imagination, Zick was a little impatient internally.
’Do I have to offer more benefits? Or I should start with a reminder first....’ Zick’s eyes focused.
"I will send all the information about the reality element to you, within tomorrow. Study it extensively and make a thesis as quickly as possible."
"Ah...I will do that." Ellen nodded seriously, her interest in the reality element was really high.
After fidgeting for a while, Ellen spoke at last, gazing directly into Zick’s eyes.
"What do you think about....our relationship?"
Ellen knew that it was a stupid question. She knew that in the noble society relations didn’t matter at all.
Zick grew serious, he had a feeling this question would decide it all.
"I consider you as a collaborator. However, if you marry me, I will think and treat you as a wife, as I’m supposed to. While it may be abrupt, do you want to take a step forward in our relationship?"
Zick got up and extended his hand towards Ellen again.
She looked at the familiar scene with her heart in throat. Everything was moving very quickly and there wasn’t even much time to build up much trust.
But, isn’t the contract between them a kind of connection worth trusting too?
"I keep my words. However, if you want to, I can sign another contract that wouldn’t clash with our prior one." Zick spoke up seeing Ellen still deep in thought.
"No need." Ellen answered with determination, clasping Zick’s outstretched hand again.
Would it even be a relationship if it was wholly built on contracts?
Ellen was uncomfortable with such an idea.
[Ellen’s favourability+5. You have obtained 5,000 destiny points.]
Zick was quite satisfied with the increased rewards from the system. According to his prediction, it was possible to create a S-rank talent with 30,000 to 50,000 destiny points.
"I will discuss it with my family tomorrow." Ellen made up her mind.
"Let’s go to a nearby restaurant, you must be hungry." Zick didn’t continue the topic.
He didn’t think Jolheim had a reason to reject this marriage. They were already very close with the Dejlin family, at least externally.
Holding her hand, Zick led the blushing Ellen naturally.
’She has zero experience in skinship....It feels like I’m picking up an innocent lamb.’
Zick of course didn’t take these thoughts to heart. He knew exactly how blackhearted Ellen could be when the time arises.
Back on the bike, Zick looked at Ellen’s status in the system.
[Name: Ellen Jolheim
Destiny grade: Legendary
Destiny: Loved by mana - just by existing her mana will grow continuously.
favourability: 55 (Adoration)]
’Adoration? This woman?’
Zick glanced at the calmed down Ellen. Even a veteran like him, didn’t pick such emotion from Ellen. He wouldn’t have even realised it if not for the system.
’Women....:
