Chapter 960: Chapter 710: The Plan_2

Rumble!

The surrounding snow mountains collapsed, and the falling snow didn’t even reach the ground before it vaporized into steaming mist.

Roger stood at the center of the Array, arms extended, appearing to channel his Life Essence, but in truth, it was Sonia—hidden to the side—who fully unleashed her Life Essence.

A terrifying heatwave engulfed the entire valley, as if a fireball had been thrown into the glacier, causing drastic changes in energy and environment, and triggering large-scale weather alterations.

This scene, of course, could not escape Heyman’s notice.

Calculating the steadily increasing Vitality, Jora nodded, "Maintain this pace; leave the rest to me!"

The process went smoother than expected—much smoother. In the later stages, Jora faced mounting pressure: she had to sustain the intense flames without instantly obliterating the valley and simultaneously mask the ascending Life Essence aura.

As time ticked by, Jora’s expression suddenly changed sharply, "We need to speed things up! News just in—Heyman has left Sky City..."

At this moment, Sonia’s Life Essence surged to its limit before she abruptly absorbed it all into her core construct.

Sizzle!

Within the core construct, all of the Life Essence formed a pulsating green heart, spreading outward through her energy cycle, as a solid green light film appeared over Sonia’s body.

"It’s done!"

Seeing Sonia’s gaze, Roger shouted loudly.

Suppressing the joy in her eyes, Sonia transformed once again into her unicorn form. Amanda leaped onto her back, and at that same moment, the earth rumbled, and the entire valley began to collapse downward.

"Let’s go! Get out of here!"

Amidst the roaring flames, Jora soared into the air, the firelight dazzling, opening a transparent Light Gate. Roger and Amanda followed closely behind, disappearing swiftly into the sky.

Soon after, Heyman, clad in Golden Armor, appeared above the valley. He glanced down with a flicker of perplexity on his face.

"Strange..."

But suddenly, the ground split open, and a thick red flame, as wide as an arm, shot out from the depths, striking Heyman before he could react, piercing right through him!

His body split in half, but green light quickly emanated from the wound, forcibly fusing his severed body together again.

"Is that all? My dear sister."

Thump, thump, thump!

Countless beams of light shot forth, forcing Heyman to dodge repeatedly. After a dozen seconds, the entire valley sank downward, and both sides of the glacier collapsed, burying the valley entirely.

"Just what are you trying to do?"

Heyman couldn’t believe Jora caused such immense devastation simply to ambush him—such an attack would be fatal for those below Fifth Tier, but to them, it was barely more than an annoyance.

"Where are you? Our plan can begin." A cold voice murmured beside his ear.

"Honored Inspector..."

"Return and oversee the ritual; then we can block Erode completely."

"Yes, sir."

Heyman’s face lit up with a smile—this step brought him closer to the divine throne.

...

Jora seemed well-prepared. Passing through the fiery barrier, the surroundings returned to normal, and they found themselves on a secluded island far from the northern snow mountains.

Waves crashed against the shore, and the air tasted damp and familiar.

"Let me see your strength."

Jora reverted to her human form, darting to Roger’s side.

Vitality radiated across his body, and Roger didn’t dodge but met the challenge head-on.

Their forms shifted rapidly, moving from land to sky, then plunging into the depths of the ocean.

Soon, the previously calm ocean surface raged with tides, churned by the aftermath of their battle, roiling the surrounding waters.

Shortly thereafter, Jora broke through the surface.

"As expected, even just entering Fifth Tier, you’re already far stronger than ordinary people. This increases our odds significantly."

"Now we need to plan carefully."

Jora pondered briefly, "Heyman is unaware of your abilities. If I launch a bold assault, using myself as bait, I can certainly lure him into an attack."

"At that time, you only need to hide in the shadows, awaiting the right moment to strike—perhaps injuring him greatly or even killing him."

"That’s too risky," Roger didn’t agree with Jora’s plan.

For him, killing Heyman wasn’t the priority; ensuring Amanda’s safe departure took precedence.

This time in Erode was different. First, Sonia needed to activate the cross-realm ritual and then forcibly break the world’s barrier.

Such actions would likely draw unwanted attention, something Roger had to prevent. Thus, he planned to launch an attack simultaneously as Sonia began the ritual.

Seizing the initiative, drawing Heyman and others’ focus.

Jora’s plan carried too many uncertainties and relinquished the critical control. After some thought, Roger proposed a compromised plan.

"We can’t guarantee Heyman’s death this time, so we must maximize the battle’s outcome while he remains unaware."

Dragging out time would only spell inevitable defeat for Jora and her resistance forces, yet Roger suspected that the Inspector from Supreme Dragon Court had ulterior motives.

"Let’s attack Sky City!"

"Are you insane? That’s suicide!" Jora instantly rejected the idea.

"If Heyman and the Inspector remain in Sky City, we won’t stand a chance. But... what if they leave, heading elsewhere?"

"That’s impossible."

"Anyone below Fifth Tier won’t even catch his attention."

Jora dismissed Roger’s suggestion outright.

"What if I told you I have a way to make them leave?"

"You?" Jora frowned, "No, revealing yourself would forfeit the element of surprise."

"Who said I was revealing myself?" Roger smirked, "I’ll join you, but I can ensure Heyman leaves Sky City alone."

"How?"

"I can’t tell you yet, but I promise no sacrifices. Just trust me."

Jora’s eyes flickered, "I’ll need time to think."

She waved her hand, and an ancient castle hidden deep in the forest materialized before them.

Even though Jora commanded an entire resistance force, she possessed her own private domain. Similar in style to the previous valley, the group entered the castle, where a familiar figure awaited at the entrance.

Under the elder’s guidance, Roger returned to their temporary quarters. Ensuring everything around them was secure, he turned to Sonia.

"I’ve reached Fifth Tier!"

Transforming into human form, Sonia tried her best to restrain her elation. She had endured so much in her quest for transcendence. Betrayed and seemingly stripped of her chance entirely, Roger’s sudden appearance had given her everything she now had.

"The shackles of rules still exist, but compared to before, I’m far stronger. It’s enough to begin the ritual and break through the barrier."

"That’s excellent."

Roger nodded.

"I’ll locate the barrier’s weakest point and pinpoint a position on the other side. Once the ritual is completed, you’ll break the barrier and leave."

No one noticed how Roger’s shadow had dimmed noticeably or that the Lantern hanging from the door had disappeared alongside the retreating shadow.

That was the Eye of Truth.

With the lantern in hand, Roger’s shadow could replace him in locating the most suitable spot to activate the ritual.

"Before leaving, I need your help to deliver one last message."

Listening to Roger’s words, Sonia seemed thoughtful, "You want your friend to free the imprisoned Evans and bring him back here?"

Roger nodded, "After all this time, Heyman must be growing impatient. Back then, to avoid the Inspector’s notice, he deliberately distanced himself from Sky City."

"Once he receives the news, he’ll rush there immediately. Then Jora and I will give him a big surprise."

The entire plan unfolded in Roger’s mind. He explained the key details to Amanda and Sonia and then left the room to find Jora. Shortly after, the two departed the castle together.

Meanwhile, Sonia prepared the ritual, transmitting Roger’s message onward.

Elsewhere, Henrik confirmed the transmitted message repeatedly before leaving and heading to the Tower of Shadows.

Within the shadowy hall, he saw the emaciated Evans. Feigning a deep sigh, Henrik slowly asked, "Would you like to leave this place and return to your world?"

The hall remained silent.

Clearing his throat lightly, Henrik changed the subject, "Do you want to reclaim what you lost?"

Evans’ eyes snapped open.

"Give it back to me!"
