Chapter 875: Chapter 669: I Have a Treasure to Show You

To be honest, Roger was also puzzled by this man named Chachi.

It was clear that he must have come from another world, but whether he had just recently arrived or had replaced Justin a long time ago remained unknown to Roger.

After Chachi vanished, the eight surrounding stone pillars seemed to have endured the erosion of countless years; their surfaces were riddled with innumerable cracks. The strange bodies that once resided within had been completely destroyed during the previous energy transmission.

Now, only a few twisted corpses remained.

Rumbling.

The stone pillars crumbled, leaving the surroundings in utter disarray.

This man named Chachi had lured several Transcendents deeply imbued with Dragonborn bloodline here, likely with the intent of breaking open a portal to another world.

But Roger couldn’t help but feel curious.

According to Hillrenes, entering another world wasn’t supposed to be an easy feat. Chachi seemed mysterious, yet his power didn’t give Roger any overwhelming sense of oppression.

Could simply sacrificing a few Dragonborn truly shatter the barriers between worlds?

Roger was skeptical about this.

"Where exactly did this guy go?"

Many unanswered questions swirled in his mind, but Roger set his thoughts aside for now and carefully observed Amanda.

"Hidden behind this, it seems Justin has a plan brewing, though all of it doesn’t concern us anymore."

Roger muttered vaguely and then asked, "What’s going on?"

"Your condition earlier was very strange. At the foot of the mountain, it was like you became someone else entirely, couldn’t hear a word I was saying, and flew straight up here."

Amanda raised her brows lightly. "Don’t worry, I just felt a very unique energy at the mountaintop earlier. That power called to me, like a tremor from the depths of my soul."

"When I arrived here, I seemed to enter a strange realm mentally. There, I saw numerous interwoven Dragonborn bloodlines."

"Some reached their endpoints directly, while others were severed midway. Maybe that place gathers all the legacies of the Dragonborn."

"The entire experience was surreal, hard to put into words. Even my own powers seemed affected. Let’s leave here now."

"I’m a bit tired, and I want to rest properly."

"Alright." Roger nodded.

He suppressed his inner doubts, and it was then that the palace completely collapsed, causing the entire mountain peak to quake.

At the spot where the palace had stood, a distinct crack appeared. Through the fissure, Roger could faintly glimpse the scenery on the other side.

He grabbed Amanda’s arm, and an invisible force enveloped them both. In the next moment, the gap widened, and their bodies disappeared from where they stood.

The surroundings returned to normal, and they found themselves back in Justin’s castle.

Without alerting anyone, Roger took Amanda and left the castle, heading straight for Faku International Airport.

During the journey, Amanda remained fatigued and silent, her demeanor distant and spirit somewhat dazed, dismissive of most of Roger’s inquiries.

Once aboard the plane, it didn’t take long for her to fall into a deep sleep.

Roger’s frown deepened as he recalled the warning Chachi had given him before leaving, though the most crucial part of the message had been muffled due to Chachi’s hurried departure.

From his current observations, Amanda’s aura seemed stable, but her extreme mental fatigue made her appear unusually worn out.

After disembarking, Amanda didn’t wake, so Roger took her directly back to Kaer Morhen.

Once everything was settled, Roger left the room situated atop the castle. By this time, Kaer Morhen was deep into the night, the entire castle cloaked in silence.

Roger randomly chose an empty room to stay in. Without turning on the lights, he stood by the window, his gaze piercing through the darkness, staring at the faintly visible mist in the distance.

After an unknown length of time, Roger suddenly spoke. "Did you notice anything unusual?"

"Very strange."

From the darkness emerged a silver fox, entirely snow-white. A halo of light dispersed, and the silver fox transformed into a stunning woman.

Her skin was as white as snow, adorned with a light, flowing white gauze robe.

Roger didn’t turn around. Though Amanda showed no overt signs of abnormality, and Roger couldn’t entirely trust Chachi’s words, his own observations indicated there were indeed changes in Amanda’s behavior since leaving that place.

Therefore, after ensuring Amanda had settled in, he’d assigned Uma to observe her through the shadows in secret.

"I can’t be entirely sure, but that girl seems to have been infected by a peculiar force."

"Previously, her essence was purely filled with Bloodline Power—like a blazing sun. But now, beyond the similarity of her Bloodline Power, her body gradually contains something else."

"It’s as if a box hidden in some corner has been opened at a specific juncture, releasing its contents."

Uma’s expression was somewhat conflicted as well.

"What should we do? Should we test her directly... or something else...?"

Uma asked hesitantly.

Roger fell into deep contemplation, uncertain about his decision. Suddenly, Uma’s expression shifted slightly as she stood in the room.

"There’s a new development."

She glanced at Roger. "Amanda has left her room!"

The night was dense and heavy.

Amanda sat up without a trace of emotion on her face. The myriad emotions in her eyes shifted rapidly. Barefoot, she stood at the edge of the bed and began walking forward slowly, her soles brushing against the soft carpet without making a sound.
