Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 830 - 647: The Meaning of the Cabin

Chapter 830: Chapter 647: The Meaning of the Cabin

"I don’t know."

"He didn’t tell me."

Bai Ling answered.

This answer naturally did not satisfy Roger, as the force in his right hand suddenly increased. The pressure transformed into spatial oppression, pressing down on Bai Ling.

Bai Ling’s upper body struggled bitterly under the compression, trembling, her snow-white skin starkly visible in the darkness.

"I don’t know, I really don’t know!"

Bai Ling let out a painful moan.

However, Roger was unmoved, continuing to increase the strength in his hand.

"Stop, stop it quickly!"

"I can’t take it anymore!"

Bai Ling hastily begged for mercy, and Roger gradually relaxed the force in his hand.

"Tell me everything you know."

"I haven’t been alive for very long, and my knowledge is quite limited, but I’ve heard that the Tengu Divine Master started preparing for these matters a long time ago."

"Maybe decades ago, before he reached the limits of his lifespan, he had already begun researching this area."

"He killed many Superior Leaders. In the Land of Eternal Darkness, the corpses of dead Superior Leaders remain intact for a brief moment before their embedded power is absorbed and transformed."

"It’s said that for a period, he slaughtered Superior Leaders here non-stop. Even though he was the Extreme Path Divine Master, he was not truly invincible."

"Under siege, there were many times he almost died."

"But instead of restraining himself, he became even more frenzied, until later... he brought someone else."

"A terrifying individual."

Hearing this, a name instantly flashed through Roger’s mind.

"During that time, the Land of Eternal Darkness was engulfed in slaughter for countless years. The Tengu Divine Master’s strength gradually waned, but the individual who entered with him grew stronger and stronger."

"Then, things changed."

"That person was never seen again."

"And the Tengu Divine Master seemed to have secretly accomplished some kind of goal."

"Some say his new body was stitched together from the corpses of Superior Leaders; others say he fused some special elements into his own body."

"Elements that could affect the Rebirth of Superior Leaders."

"I don’t know which is true, but at least when facing the Tengu Divine Master, I don’t feel the same as when facing ordinary people."

At this point, Bai Ling’s face suddenly revealed a strange expression, "You are the same."

Roger’s heart skipped a beat.

"What do you mean?"

"I can’t say for sure. You look human, but..."

She hesitated in her phrasing, and finally shook her head, "I can feel it, but I can’t articulate it."

Rumble!

At this moment, a terrifying sound wave interrupted Roger’s thoughts. He raised his head and looked into the distance, where the battle atop the green mountain peaks had already concluded.

The mountaintop was littered with shattered, rock-like corpses, green blood flowing everywhere, pooling around a broken figure at the center of the carnage.

The body was penetrated, its internal organs exposed, one arm torn off, half of its face sunken in—yet despite such grievous injuries, the figure still stood.

Suddenly, the hill trembled, and the entire vicinity began to change.

A peculiar symbol appeared on the forehead of that creature, and even without having studied knowledge related to it, the moment he saw the symbol, Roger instinctively understood its meaning.

Green Hill.

"He has received recognition from Green Hill. Once the transformation is complete, he’ll be the new master of this region!"

Bai Ling added at the right moment.

"Roar!"

The towering figure let out a furious roar, gathering power from every direction. The symbol on his forehead progressively expanded, seemingly connecting to the entire realm.

Anomaly born anew.

Rip!

The bulky creature was torn apart by a powerful force. Immediately, his body began to reorganize, stripping away bizarre distortions and anomalies, thoroughly remodeling himself from the inside out.

The transformation process was much faster than Roger had anticipated.

He noticed that during the transformation, the creature’s bulky frame was gradually compressed, its physique no longer as bloated as before.

Recalling the recent battle, a dreadful thought suddenly emerged in Roger’s mind, "Could this thing be capable of self-correction?"

"Every death represents a correction?"

"If that’s the case, isn’t it utterly terrifying?"

Thinking this, Roger asked, "Will his strength increase?"

"No, it won’t."

"The strength of all Superior Leaders is determined by their respective domains. However, during their initial creation, there’s a period of weakness and growth."

"If one wants to become strong, mere personal effort is futile. After all, we are only nominal Controllers of this power, not its true owners."

Roger’s heart stirred, causing him to contemplate his connection with the Hunter’s Cabin.

Comparing the two, they seemed vastly different, yet somehow shared certain similarities.

He couldn’t help but revisit a question he had pondered long ago.

Before him, did the Hunter’s Cabin have any other owners?

If he were to die unexpectedly, would it seek a new successor?

Just like these beings before him.

If these assumptions were correct, then had his predecessor departed, or perished? What was the true purpose of the Hunter’s Cabin?

As his power grew, Roger found himself privy to more secrets, gaining deeper insight into this world.

Many secrets were no longer just stories but became intricately tied to himself.

Piecing together Bai Ling’s account, Roger could infer some of the disputes from back then.
