Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 364 - Chapter 364 Chapter 364 The Princess

Chapter 364: Chapter 364: The Princess Chapter 364: Chapter 364: The Princess Azumani ran very fast, and he didn’t forget to bring Roger along, but the space in the entire city was limited, and the entrance was sealed off, leaving no place to hide.

The speed at which the pollen spread was extremely fast, and Steve, who was behind, was the first to be infected. Even if he held his breath, the pollen that adhered to his body slowed him down considerably.

Slowly stiffening until he lost consciousness, he fell asleep where he stood.

The next moment, vines that emerged from underground entangled Steve, wrapping him up to form a plant.

Like many others in the city, he fell into sleep in Sleeping Valley.

“Teacher, where should we go?”

Evelyn looked panicked.

At this time, Azumani also felt some regret. If he had known that this would happen, he would have waited longer to turn against Layhader.

Layhader’s bloodline could influence the surrounding land, and having him there would have made things much easier.

“Come closer.”

Azumani waved his hand, a light flashed on his body, and the plants around started to grow wildly, wrapping around him and the three including Roger.

He intended to use the wildly growing plants to form a barrier to block the surrounding pollen.

Roger looked around and noticed that the witch who had been floating in midair had disappeared without a trace.

She had been very close to the palace initially; perhaps she was the first to be affected by the pollen.

Just as the plant barrier formed by Azumani was about to close, Roger’s face showed a hint of something different. Then, pretending to be attracted by something, he broke away from the area covered by Azumani’s spell and dashed towards a house not far away.

“You fool, where are you going?”

Evelyn, caught off guard by Roger’s sudden departure, felt anxious but dared not pursue.

“Never mind him for now, that kid is very strange, hold your breath,” Azumani said, unable to care about anything else.

“Hold on to me!”

He wrapped his arms around his female disciple, the earth below them churned by the plants, a barrier enveloping the two, and then they sank into the ground.

After Roger broke out of Azumani’s barrier, he ran to a nearby house at top speed, just as the pollen had spread to the surrounding area.

The pollen, incredibly, ignored the physical barriers of the house, appearing out of thin air in the midst of the room. Roger’s mind stirred, and in an instant, he activated the temporary Advent function.

His body flashed and vanished on the spot.

The pink pollen enveloped the entire city, floating in midair without dispersing for a long time.

Meanwhile, Roger, after being teleported to Shadow Cottage, did not hurry to return. He found some food in the Storage Box, enjoyed a meal, and then lay down on the bed to rest for a while.

An hour later, rejuvenated and well-fed, Roger’s figure flashed, and he returned to Sleeping Valley.

He tensed his spirit, but by this time, the pollen that had filled the air was gone. He carefully concealed himself and quietly came outside.

All around was silent; the spot where Azumani had cast his spell had caved in, and it was unclear whether he and Evelyn had escaped the calamity or fallen into sleep.

With no one else around, Roger naturally had fewer concerns. He moved swiftly, quickly scouted the surrounding area, and then headed straight for the distant palace entrance.

Upon entering the palace, a fragrant aroma hit him. The corridors, the great hall, and the various reliefs and decorations were all impeccably clean.

The entire palace didn’t look like it had been abandoned for decades or centuries; it seemed as if someone still lived there.

Roger remembered that before the pollen had spread, a part of the palace roof had bloomed like petals. If he wasn’t mistaken, that was the core of the entire palace.

He soon found the entrance to the top tower in the empty palace and followed the spiral staircase upward. When he entered a certain level, the space suddenly opened up.

The room was filled with the vibrant colors of blooming roses, and in the midst of the roses, a figure lay quietly.

Her eyes were tightly closed, her breathing even, and her hands were folded over her abdomen.

Roger slowly approached, but the woman lying in the roses seemed to be in a deep sleep, unresponsive.

“Sleeping Beauty?”

“A princess?”

Roger wore a peculiar expression.

“According to the tradition in fairy tales, as the prince, I should step forward and kiss the princess…”

Roger walked around the flowers twice but found himself utterly unable to proceed.

Fairy tales are all lies; who knows if the woman lying here is really a princess or some unknown monster.

Roger activated Hunter Vision and scrutinized the woman lying among the flowers from head to toe, but he detected no abnormal energy fluctuations, and her vitality seemed abundant, almost as if she had just fallen asleep.

But Roger was well aware that Sleeping Valley had existed for dozens, if not hundreds of years. If this were an ordinary person, they would have likely turned into a pile of dry bones by now.

“Huh?”

Roger bent down and noticed something unusual in the woman’s hands. Her slender fingers were interlocked, yet between them, it seemed there was something.

Just as Roger was about to reach out and check, a voice suddenly came from behind him.

“Stop, don’t touch her!”

Roger turned around, and a figure appeared at the entrance; it was the Witch who had vanished after leaving earlier.

“You are certainly not any prince.”

“And you are certainly not any witch.”

While assessing the woman in the distance, Roger brandished the stick in his hand.

“Do you plan to defeat me with that stick?”

Looking at the rough wooden stick in Roger’s hand, the Witch said disdainfully.

“What else?”

“Who exactly are you?”

“The puzzling pollen of this city seems to have no effect on you.”

“What surprises me more, however, is you,” said the Witch as she advanced, carefully observing Roger’s every move.

“Is this woman a princess? If I awaken her, can I become the ruler of this country?”

“You won’t become a king; you will only be buried under her feet, becoming nourishment for the flower roots.”

“Don’t try to deceive me. After you left, the entire city seemed to be stirring from its slumber, but then a huge flower bloomed atop the palace. The dispersing pollen was what dragged the entire city back into the nightmare.”

The Witch’s voluminous robes hung down, obscuring her movements from Roger’s view, but Roger estimated that if he made the slightest move, her attack would swiftly be upon him.

“Sleeping is not always a bad thing.”

The Witch looked at Roger, “If I tell you that there are no living humans in the entire country, that what you see is just a facade, and they are all monsters disguised as humans?”

“The plants surrounding the city are there to protect this area, keeping the monsters here in slumber and preventing them from affecting the outside world.”

The roses around them trembled violently, as if denying what the Witch was saying.

“And the woman by your side is the chief culprit.”

“Then perhaps I should kill her.”

Roger’s expression changed, and flames rose in his palm.

“Stop!”

The Witch shouted loudly.

A strange look crossed Roger’s face, “You won’t let me kill her, nor will you let me touch her.”

“What exactly are you scheming?”

He gauged the distance between them, a hint of danger in his eyes.

“Or maybe… you are the one who should be killed?!”
