Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 359 - Chapter 359 Chapter 359 The Passage
Chapter 359: Chapter 359: The Passage Chapter 359: Chapter 359: The Passage Recognizing the importance of Roger, Azumani no longer dared to recklessly use his mental spells as he had just done.
Such types of spells often have certain side effects, and using them too frequently can easily affect the target of the spell.
We won’t mention the permanent mental damage for now, but more importantly, it could affect the target’s mental state, leading to problems with the accuracy of the information obtained.
Layhader silently gave Azumani a thumbs-up.
The two disciples he brought, a man and a woman, although their combat power was still unclear, at least played a significant role in other aspects.
In some sense, the reason they were ultimately able to find the entrance and enter this story world owed a lot to those two disciples of his.
The remainder of the journey became quite enjoyable; one was ingratiating, and the other was probing with interest. Roger disguised himself very well as an irritable village boy.
At the same time, he took advantage–lightly, not heavily.
Just a touch…
Small hands?
In that moment, Roger felt an incredible sense of purity. If it were Henrik, hehe, girl, even if you weren’t pressed down and rubbed against the ground, you would probably have to endure his incessant harassment.
Well, I am still quite decent.
Roger said to himself.
When talking with Roger, the outsider, everyone lowered their voices quite a bit and tried not to reveal too much information in their words.
But their caution was only relative to the ordinary person; for Roger, the situation was much like that with John and his wife previously.
He chatted with the girl while stealthily eavesdropping on the conversation of the people behind him.
“Eh? So the Little Red Riding Hood I obtained last time was lost by these people?”
“That white-bearded old man is a Druid.” Regarding this profession, Roger had heard some things; it is very rare in Bordeaux and Armenia.
They were originally from the European continent, so their main activity area is still primarily around Europe to this day.
Druids, being close to nature, seldom appear in modern cities of steel and concrete. The two main branches focus on studying plants and animals, respectively.
The plant branch concentrates on Alchemy, while the animal branch primarily cultivates spiritual power, guiding animals, with the very powerful even able to transform themselves into formidable monsters for a short period.
However, relative to others, Druids are more like hermits, not very involved in the struggle for power, and cooperate more with other forces.
Just by appearances, Roger wasn’t able to determine the old man’s specific strength.
The only person in the group who warranted his attention was the resolute-looking man called Layhader.
He must be a Blood Hunter, fit and robust, with spiritual power that also seemed to be quite extraordinary.
And then there was the girl by his side.
She was also a key subject of Roger’s attention.
The group did not travel exceedingly fast, mainly to accommodate Roger, while Roger pretended to be infatuated with the girl, deliberately slowing down their pace.
The others observed but did not speak outright; in their view, the more the woodcutter boy seemed infatuated with women, the easier he was to control.
Both sides were happy with this, each harboring their own thoughts.
Happy times are always brief, just as Roger was about to take it a step further, they arrived at the river deep within the forest.
The clear river water flowed gently, and although the scenery was pleasant, it did not seem much different from the surrounding environment.
“This is the place.”
“This is the origin of an underground river.” Roger pointed toward the end of the river and said.
A towering mountain blocked the group’s path there, and it was evident that the river gushed out from the crevices at the base of the mountain.
Although there were many trees planted around, the overall height wasn’t too great, still a far cry from the tens of meters high mentioned by Azumani.
Witnessing this scene, Azumani and Layhader quietly conferred, while Matt led the others to search the surrounding area, and the young man playing with the bird cast an unfriendly look at Roger from not far away.
“It should be time.”
Azumani said, “Based on the revelation information we’ve obtained, I am fairly certain this is the location we’ve been searching for.”
He glanced at Layhader, “You should be aware that in many places, different times might reveal different scenes.”
“Now that we’ve confirmed this place, we can wait a bit longer.”
Layhader looked around and nodded, “Let’s find a way to bring in that young man as well. His family seems to be tied to the legend; he may be of some help.”
Azumani nodded, “Don’t worry, a mountain village lad like him, with Evelyn’s charm, can be completely handled.”
“That’s good,” Layhader nodded.
After a slight effort, Evelyn used her charm to seduce Roger, convincing him to stay with them until nightfall and explore Sleeping Valley together.
Roger reluctantly agreed.
Time flew by, and just as Roger was considering whether or not to take the next step, the nightfall came, and the full moon rose.
“Look everyone!”
Just then, an exclamation came from up high, and Matt stood on a mountaintop, pointing in the direction of the river and shouting loudly.
“The Silver Sand River Beach and the silver firs have appeared!”
The young man released the black hawk perched on his wrist, while the others ran up to Matt’s side and looked in the direction he indicated.
Under the moonlight, the river beach seemed to be coated with a layer of silver powder, and from their angle, the surrounding woods merged into one, with the tree leaves also reflecting the silvery light.
It appeared as if there were two immense silver fir trees.
“This is the place!”
Azumani clapped his hands, “I got it, according to that young man’s legend, the entire valley is wrapped up in forests.”
“This is a kind of magical illusion.”
Azumani shouted, “Layhader, I hope you can help me sense the condition of the land around us; we need to find the correct direction.”
“Evelyn and Steve, come over and assist. I need to set up a massive Array to control the surrounding plants and lift this special seal!”
The whole team quickly became busy.
Roger stood with his arms crossed, watching the busy crowd at the riverbank, nodded slightly, feeling like he was directing an epic.
“Hmm, this is the power of a team; put some effort into it, and quickly help me find a way into the valley.”
The feeling of having people help out was really not bad.
He pondered whether he should join a Transcendent organization, but then he dismissed the thought after a consideration.
The story here ends, with everyone bustling about. If it turns out that he gets the manuscript from Sleeping Valley,
he would probably instantly land on the blacklists of both the Round Table Knights and the Druids.
Layhader’s examination of the surrounding land soon set a rough range, and subsequently, Azumani and two others drew a huge green Array within the range Layhader identified.
The trio stood in a perfect triangle at the edges of the Array, with green energy surging, three streams of energy interwoven together and then amplified by the Array shot forth.
Hisss!
The green energy struck the mountainside, and surprisingly melted a large hole in the solid rock face!
Roger took a closer look and realized that what he thought was the end of the river wasn’t rocks but an obstruction composed of myriad twisted, solid vines and branches.
As energy poured in, dead branches turned green, the entangled vines retracted, and a pathway appeared before the eyes of all.
