Chapter 417: 4. Clan Series (Two in One)_4
If that were the case, then after unlocking each of the Phoenix Species’ clan members, it was very likely that clues pointing to the Phoenix Species would emerge, given that Emhardt had said that the Phoenix Species hadn’t appeared in the world for a long time, it was even uncertain whether they had gone extinct.
But Fisher couldn’t guarantee that one day, a world-weary, cynical god-slaying Phoenix wouldn’t suddenly burst out of a rock. Having some kind of insurance or clue would be far better than none at all.
With that thought, he slowly propped up his sweaty body and sat up, checking the research progress he had made previously on the Grey Bird Species.
[Grey Bird Species Research Progress: 17%]
[Grey Bird Species Social Research Progress: 3%]
Hmm, this progress was within Fisher’s expectations, and even came as somewhat of a surprise.
For even though Fisher had read Little Jack’s papers, after all, demi-human research was still a nascent... no, it should be said that it was a brand-new discipline spearheaded solely by Fisher.
The one or two papers he had previously read were far from enough to understand this demi-human species; in fact, Fisher might know less than the common folk in the Northern Realm who saw the Grey Bird Species every day.
However, being just 3% away from the next tier of biological research rewards was an unexpected pleasure. With a bit more effort and by accelerating the research on this Grey Bird individual, he could claim the rewards.
But the problem now was that this Grey Bird, Ossie, would basically stay atop that mast all day, with no opportunity for research. Surely Fisher couldn’t ask Alagina to call her down for his study?
Hmm, that just sounded a bit strange, the kind that would seem strange to all but Emhardt.
What if knowledge was obtained through Emhardt?
He should know a lot about the Grey Bird Species. If Fisher learned more about the demi-human girl through him, would his research progress increase?
This seemed worth a try.
With that thought, Fisher rubbed his shoulders, folded up the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, and put it back into his pocket, preparing to go out and find Sir Book, who was playing outside with Karma and the others, to test his hypothesis.
"Gugu... Gugu..."
As a result, as soon as Fisher had just pushed open the door, he immediately saw Ossie, the Grey Bird Species in a heavy cloak, coming from the direction of the room next door.
At that moment, her body was still tightly wrapped in her cloak, but the shape of her arms was clearly outlined beneath it, and in the crook of her arms, the Steel Blade Parrot lay quietly in her embrace.
Ossie did not seem to expect to encounter Fisher in the room at this time. She had just made a trip to the restroom and did not expect to run into him on her way out.
Upon seeing Fisher, she suddenly halted in her tracks, and both the person and the parrot turned their heads to look at him. Beneath that head of short white hair, her eyes were large and bright, which seemed to be proof of the Grey Bird’s excellent eyesight.
"Second Officer Ossie."
After a brief pause, Fisher greeted her, but just like Alagina, Ossie’s face showed no noticeable change upon hearing Fisher’s words...
Or rather, even if there had been any change, it was obscured by the cloak that covered half of her face.
What Fisher did not expect was that the next second, she suddenly gently raised her hands, holding the Steel Blade Parrot up to face him.
While Fisher was still puzzled about what she was doing, the Steel Blade Parrot had already tilted its head and called out to him,
"Dummy... Dummy..."
"..."
The atmosphere fell silent, and Ossie’s expression remained unchanged, but the hands hidden underneath her cloak suddenly squeezed Steel Blade with force, causing the parrot to shake its head in pain, before once again looking at Fisher.
This time, the colorful parrot changed its tune,
"Hello... Hello..."
