Chapter 416: 4. Clan Series (Two in One)_3
Feeling the cool breeze generated from the other people brushing past her sweaty back, and catching their somewhat mocking glances, Isabella took a deep breath of discontent, clutching her stomach as she once again chased after the group ahead.
Fisher didn’t continue to watch how hard Isabella was trying to catch up; he had his own matters to attend to.
He leaned alone in the shade, glanced up at Ossie who was still sitting atop the mast, then pulled out his Demi-human Girls Completion Manual from his pocket.
Indeed, he planned to first bind and study the Grey Bird of the Northern Realm.
Before encountering Ossie, he had already done considerable research on the Grey Bird of the Northern Realm. He didn’t know if he could reach the 20% bonus reward, but it was at least worth a try. Additionally, he wanted to see what the tags of the Grey Bird were, and whether it was feasible to complete.
Having made up his mind, Fisher, holding the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual that only he could see, walked a distance toward the direction of the mast.
He wasn’t sure if he could establish a contract from a distance equivalent to the height of one mast away from Ossie; if not, he would have to find a way to get Ossie to come down.
Fortunately, the reception range of the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual was noticeably better than the Magic Announcer in Lady Martha’s house. Her shabby announcer was almost covered in magic residue; Fisher had to keep disassembling it and marking it again, having done so numerous times, and sometimes he still had to run to the rooftop to hear anything.
The issue was with the steam parts being broken, not the Magic Emblems failing. Fisher wasn’t very good at fixing steam parts, and Martha was reluctant to spend money on a steam craftsman to repair it; she felt it was still usable, so it wasn’t broken.
When Fisher had just pulled out the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual on the deck, two beams of golden light burst forth from it. The ancient yellow scroll turned pages automatically without wind, quickly creating two new virtual interfaces behind the Whale-man Species, waiting for Fisher’s confirmation,
[Northern Realm Grey Bird Species], [Mouse Human Species]
And under the Grey Bird Species, several lines of different virtual text appeared,
[Please select a study subject, available subjects: 0/1]
[Ossie, adult female Northern Realm Grey Bird Species]
Well, if it’s bindable, that’s good.
To avoid the crew noticing the pain caused by binding the research subject later, he took one last look at Isabella who was still running, then took the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual back to his room to select the binding for Grey Bird Species Ossie.
At the moment this thought emerged, the pages of the Completion Manual once again surged with golden light that twisted and moved. The light spread from the top of the pages and enveloped Fisher’s body before it stopped.
As the golden light spread, Fisher’s body once again experienced excruciating pain. No amount of physical training reduced the pain; it hurt as ever. Fortunately, after several such experiences, Fisher had grown somewhat accustomed to it and could even glance at the content recorded on the page while enduring the pain.
Lines of fantastical golden text swiftly expanded in a new column and included all of Fisher’s knowledge about the Grey Bird Species in it,
[Grey Bird Species]
[Northern Realm Species], [Beast Species], [Sky Species], [Snow Mountain Clan]
Snow Mountain Clan?
As each sparkling tag appeared before Fisher’s eyes, he curiously looked at the last tag that popped up. As his awareness shifted, the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual simultaneously provided an explanatory supplement in virtual text,
[Snow Mountain Clan: They were once the most loyal followers of the Frost Snow Phoenix, swearing to defend the dignity of the Snow Mountain and fate with their clan’s life]
[Special Sequence — Clan Series: This is an honor bestowed upon those races that loyally followed the royal families. Unlocking any member of the Clan Series provides research clues about other Clans.]
[Snow Mountain Clan Series Race: Grey Bird Species, Slime Species, Snow Fox Species, Cloud Cat Species, Trolls, Moon Rabbit Species]
Fisher raised an eyebrow, seeming to understand what the Completion Manual meant by "Clan Series."
He recalled that he had previously unlocked a sequence tag called "Royal Choice," and under each of those royal races was a unique "Clan Series," symbolizing the many demi-human races that had once followed them.
Since this special sequence tag connected them, unlocking one could provide clues about the other races, making the process similar to a chain reaction where unlocking one significantly decreases the difficulty of unlocking the next.
Fisher felt significantly better about the intense pain he was enduring, because at that moment, a logical association about the Doomsday Prophecy recorded in the Completion Manual occurred in his mind.
Based on previous progress, he was now certain about two of the four Doomsday individuals—Rafael from the Dragon-man Species and Moli from the Whale-man Species, both belonging to the Royal Choice.
Considering what he knew about the sequence tags, could the last Doomsday individual, "Sky God," possibly be the Phoenix from the Royal Choice?
