Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 330 - 135. Royal Library

Chapter 330: 135. Royal Library

Gazing at the illusory text that had emerged before him, Fisher gleaned several important pieces of information.

The Whale-man Species who had left behind this hair ornament must have been an incredibly strong fighter and was also female, as the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual used the pronoun "she" to describe her. Moreover, this proud Whale-man Species had once challenged a God, although it was unclear whether she had won or lost....

Could it be that the Destructive God of this Whale-man Species was...

Aunt Moli’s mother?

Fisher glanced at Moli, who was innocently examining the Golden hair ornament next to him, and grew more convinced that the most likely candidate was her mother, as the traits and experiences Moli had shared about her mother matched perfectly with those of the Destructive God.

Her mother had once come to land; otherwise, she wouldn’t have lent her weapon to a Human. Secondly, the only God known to the Whale-man Species was Ramasitia, and the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual mentioned that this Whale-man Species had challenged a Divine being. Moli had also mentioned that her mother was the only Whale-man who had faced Ramasitia directly...

So, was the Whale-man Species who left all these Traces actually Moli’s mother, who was the legendary "Ocean Emperor"?

No wonder her mother had given herself such an imposing title in her youth. According to the Completion Manual, in her younger days, Moli’s mother was a Whale-man Species who had become very arrogant due to her exceptional strength.

"Moli, is it possible that the one who left these Traces here was your mother? After all, your mother had been to Saint Nali before and even lent out her weapons."

"Eh? It’s possible... But if it was my mother, you should be able to see her name on the items she left behind. She used to... well, ostentatiously engrave her name on her belongings when she was young."

"Wait, what is your mother’s name?"

"It’s Xuan Can. Almost all our Whale-man Species’ names are given by Ramasitia, and I heard that many ancestors of the other Ocean Subhuman Species are the same.."

Fisher and Moli searched the Golden armor and crown that had been left behind, but found no sign of the Whale-man Species who had left them.

It was also possible that she had left marks, but since the armor and crown were now so damaged that they barely retained their original shapes, any Traces she may have left would now be undetectable.

Moli was also uncertain whether these items were indeed left by her mother, Xuan Can, so they could only come to an inconclusive judgment for now.

After searching for a few more minutes and finding no new clues, Fisher had to proceed towards Nali Lake, especially since Anna and Xiayat were still soaking in the water.

Fisher set down the Golden armor and checked the society research progress of the Whale-man Species in the Completion Manual once more,

[Whale-man Species Society Research Progress: 24%]

[Unlocked Phase Rewards: Reproductive Ability +2, Lifespan +2]

No, could you maybe stop increasing the points on reproductive ability? Fisher was already feeling a little overwhelmed by the current situation and feared that Little Fisher would directly declare independence and pursue his own happiness...

Of course, protesting was futile; essentially, this kind of bonus was for his own good... supposedly.

He sighed underwater and waved his hand to disperse the illusory text projected by the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, then, holding on to Anna, followed Moli as they moved forward.

As they swam further, the fluorescent light on the cave walls dimmed, and the cavern passageway became extremely narrow. By the time they reached the exit, Xiayat had to be pushed out of the cave by Moli extending both hands, pressing against her. She clung tightly to her airshield, worried about damaging it, while waiting for Moli to exert force.

"Heave-ho, heave-ho..."

It took Moli a considerable effort to push Xiayat out of the underground cavern without causing her pain. They emerged into a broader expanse of dark water, about a dozen meters from the surface. Looking up through the water, the stars and Moonlight in the sky shone brightly, as if winking at them.

"We’ve arrived; this should be Nali Lake..."

Fisher had visited this place a few times, coming with Elizabeth when he was studying. Her twentieth birthday was celebrated here, inviting only Fisher to her birthday party. That’s where he met the influential bigshots from various circles and even visited the Museum once.

Although he wasn’t particularly fond of the atmosphere at that time, Fisher had a good memory and recalled the general layout of the area. Consequently, he quickly neared the water’s surface to ascertain the direction of the Library and Museum.

He didn’t surface, as there were usually patrols around. Fisher just identified a direction in the water and swam towards it.

The Kingdom’s Library and Museum were massive, and under the cover of night, those two extravagantly decorated colossal buildings appeared like two grand giants standing at the northern edge of Nali Lake, quite a distance from Gedelin’s private residence to the south. From the balcony of Gedelin’s home, one could barely make out two tiny black dots across the lake.

Hmm, Fisher had seen it with his own eyes when attending Elizabeth’s birthday party. It was just like that...

It was at that banquet that Fisher discovered a side of Elizabeth unknown to others.

At that time, Elizabeth had Fisher help her open gifts from others, never expecting that her classmate Caser, whom she had secretly tormented... and who happened to harbor a crush on Fisher, would send her a "gift," which Fisher inadvertently discovered.

Caser sent Elizabeth a small postcard filled with apologies written in her own blood, signifying her deep-seated remorse.

It wasn’t until then that Fisher learned that Elizabeth had bullied that classmate Caser behind his back.

Fisher didn’t react at the moment, but it was a few days after he left Nali Lake when he went privately to find Caser that he discovered she had already withdrawn from the Royal College. When he went to her home in Saint Nali, the doors were closed on him, and later her entire family had moved away from Saint Nali...

Caser’s neighbors told Fisher that after her withdrawal from school, she had lost a considerable amount of weight in a short period, transforming from the lively junior girl she was into something resembling a lifeless zombie. Fisher didn’t know what Elizabeth had specifically done to her, but he could infer that her methods must have been terrifyingly effective.

This indeed was the direct reason that led Fisher to decide to distance himself from Elizabeth.

Nearly a decade had passed when Fisher heard that Caser was doing well in a small city in Nali. Elizabeth had also apologized to her, and thus this story came to a close...

With such a story in mind, Fisher and his company were drawing ever closer to the library, with the lights shining brightly along the shore and well-armed Royal Soldiers standing on both sides of the white stone-paved path. The only piece of good news was that the Royal Museum was located at the other end of the road, while the library they were heading to stood directly on the lakeshore.

The library had a balcony facing Nali Lake, from where Fisher and his party made their entrance. Fisher led the way onto the library’s balcony, gently pushing on the balcony door, which swung open without resistance, revealing the pitch-black corridor inside.

"We’re here. This is the entrance to the Blake Vault..."

Fisher said this to Anna, and as he spoke, he turned and snapped his fingers softly, causing the Magic Emblems on the backs of Anna and Xiayat to instantly extinguish and vanish, while the air shields above their heads popped like bubbles.

Anna took a satisfying breath of fresh air and shook off the water from her body before glancing into the dark corridor.

Fisher and Moli had already stepped inside, while Xiayat was still shaking off water in the back. Her equine body had too much fur and required a few more shakes, careful not to make too much noise.

"Do you know exactly how to get in?"

Without turning his head, Fisher pointed to his own head and said,

"I don’t know. Let’s bet on this head of mine. If I can’t figure it out, we’ll all be done for together."

"...How can you be so casual?"

Anna caught up with Fisher’s pace to see him raise his index finger and look back, motioning for her to keep her voice down. When Anna’s breathing had steadied a bit, he continued,

"This is the only option left. Actually, whether the vault opens or not is no longer of great importance to me. Blake is bound to come here in search of Moli. Whether I obtain the evidence or not is less direct than just killing him. The reason to open this vault is that there might be clues about Aunt Moli inside, and..."

In the darkness, Fisher’s gaze fixed intensely on Anna,

"to complete the deal between us. So, don’t rush me. I am doing my best to help you, understand?"

Anna pursed her lips. Although Fisher’s words were a bit harsh, inexplicably, the anxiousness in Anna’s heart was also quietly soothed.

Xiayat, having nearly dried herself off, entered the dark corridor of the library, and so Anna had no choice but to maintain her silence and continue following Fisher.

Along the way, Fisher and Moli scanned the surrounding restrooms and washrooms until, at the end of the corridor, a small door suddenly appeared in Fisher’s sight.

He slowly opened the door, and a faint scent of books rushed in with the night breeze.

A huge room, spanning three stories, appeared before Fisher’s eyes. The entire structure on all sides was enclosed with wooden architecture, in the traditional Nali style, likely a decorative form preferred during the era of Gedelin V. Perhaps Blake built this library with the intent of continuing a historical legacy.

But at this moment, looking up at the ceiling of the top floor, it was no longer made of wood, but of crystal glass that had been widely used in construction only over the past century, very similar to what Fisher had seen in the Healing Room’s secret chamber.

Looking through the glass ceiling into the sky from here, one could still see the bright stars twinkling, but alas, the large cold moon was not visible...

All three floors of the Royal Library were dark, as the library was privately owned by the Royal, and no guards were usually stationed inside. Security personnel were mostly concentrated around the museum. Perhaps they deemed the treasures housed in the museum to be more valuable than these dry books?

Then, the entrance to Blake’s treasure vault was, unsurprisingly, within this huge library—and if it were underground, the entrance would likely be located on the first floor...
