Chapter 285: 118. Elizabeth’s Courtyard_3
"You have always been too indulgent with him in the past, Elizabeth," Dexter’s voice grew louder as he spoke, emphasizing the gravity of the situation to Elizabeth.
But Elizabeth smiled, resting her chin in her hand as she explained to Dexter,
"He is a scholar, and even if that female sub-human is with him, it would only be for the sake of research. Have you forgotten? He has published many articles about Southern Continent Subhumans in academic journals, and I’ve heard that the inspiration for the New Party’s ’South Continent Subhuman Protection Association’ came from Fisher’s articles."
"’South Continent Subhuman Protection Association’? What is that?"
Dexter expressed his confusion, indicating he had never heard of it before, while Elizabeth shrugged indifferently and glossed over the topic,
"It’s just a tool for the New Party to draw in voters.."
"I mean, you’ve been oppressing him for too long, gentleman, man, twenty-eight years old, in the prime of life, with no lady by his side. What if, under the pressure you exert, he is unable to interact with normal ladies and ends up giving in to his beastly nature by being with a female sub-human?"
Hearing her brother’s words, Elizabeth’s mouth fell open, shocked by the startling suggestion.
After a long silence, she finally stiffly shook her head and said,
"Fisher... He wouldn’t be that kind of person, brother. You needn’t worry... I will handle our relationship properly, I also... can’t wait any longer."
With his sister’s assurance, Dexter smiled, nodded, and stood up to take his leave from Elizabeth,
"Good, as long as you know what you’re doing. I must return to the Golden Palace now; there are things I need to do. I’m counting on you for the weekend’s matters."
"No problem."
Elizabeth stood up to see Dexter out, but he waved his hand to indicate it wasn’t necessary.
Clearly, Dexter was in quite a good mood now, as his visit to the Western-style mansion had been very productive. Not only did he secure Elizabeth’s help for the upcoming weekend’s task of bringing Lunxis back, but he also received Elizabeth’s promise to concede power, which surely satisfied him as he thought about the future for Gedelin X.
As Dexter walked away from the Western-style mansion, Elizabeth’s expression remained serene. She slowly sat back down to her previous spot, and the group of little dogs joyously ran out and sat beside her, with the Nali Golden Dog eagerly bumping its head against her hand as if asking Elizabeth to pet it.
Elizabeth smiled and turned around, her vacant golden eyes looking at the pack of small dogs. She reached out and stroked the Nali Golden Dog’s head,
"Go play..."
"Arf!"
"Woof~"
The dogs gleefully dashed off, running back up to the top of the hill to frolic.
Elizabeth watched the dogs disappear into the distance, then took the letter she had written, folded it neatly, and retrieved the paper airplane that Fisher had given her. She placed the letter in it and threw it into the air, aiming it toward Klein Mountain on the outskirts.
