Chapter 286 - 119. Awakening
Chapter 286: 119. Awakening
At the same moment, near the verdant Klein Mountain, by the side of a winding river, Moli gently withdrew her hand that she had placed in the water. She then deeply inhaled, slowly shifting her body’s center of gravity as if freed from the bonds of gravity, gently descending into the water.
There were no splashes, no sound of waves, only the still-flowing river and the gradually sinking Moli.
As the training officially began, Fisher found a stone near the shore, leaned against it, and watched the situation in the river.
Xiayat, too, was drawn by Moli’s graceful entry into the water; she approached on her hooves, and in her gaze, a shadow rapidly ascended in the river.
The next second, like a flower blooming in water, Moli slowly surfaced, looking towards the distant Fisher.
Her face carried a smile, the proud suppleness hidden beneath the water’s surface, but she was breathing vigorously and freely, a clear improvement from her constrained state on land.
Her gaze was fixed firmly on Fisher, and only after he nodded in her direction did she turn to look at Xiayat standing on the shore.
It seemed that Xiayat’s method was effective. Fisher wasn’t skilled in combat training; he could only rely on pure theoretical methods to instruct Moli. He even had her fall to the ground once, which certainly didn’t sound very reliable.
After all, Fisher was merely a scholar, and Elliog’s reprimand had not been without reason.
"How do you feel now that you’re in the water?"
Meeting Xiayat’s words, Moli submerged herself a bit more into the water and nodded in response,
"It... it feels comfortable, more relaxing than on land."
"That’s right... hm, I was just thinking, maybe having you train on land is a bit like us training underwater? It’s normal for you to feel fear and anxiety then."
"Miss Xiayat, what should I do next?"
Xiayat did not answer but instead crossed her arms over her chest, pointing at the river in front of her,
"Centaur learn the intricacies of running and fighting through focus. When running, one needs to focus on the path ahead; in battle, on the enemy before you. For a timid child like you, I have plenty of experience in instruction. Try to run... ah no, swim as fast as you can in the river."
Moli gave a nod, showing partial understanding, and twirled in the water. In the instant her head faced the riverbed, she whipped up the water’s surface with a tail like that of a whale, creating a fan of water as elusive as nothingness, and then with a flick of her tail, she swiftly swam towards the riverbed.
Whale-man Species swim incredibly fast in the water. From the shore, Xiayat could only see a shadow darting about underwater like an arrow, brushing past the river’s grass and stones, startling the gathered fish into scattering.
In Moli’s eyes, the blue currents gently swirled. She watched a fish frighten into burying itself tail-first into the mud, struggling frantically. Moli mischievously halted in place, motionless, observing the fish slowly freeing itself from the mud.
As the fish looked around foolishly to see if Moli had gone, Moli suddenly made a threatening gesture with her arms, scaring the fish away at high speed, bumping into several water plants and dizzily losing its way, leaving only Moli behind in the water, covering her mouth with light laughter.
Fisher, observing the situation from the bank, looked at Xiayat beside him and asked,
"Is this playful level of activity truly enough? Our training time is short, and we’ll be leaving in a few days. It could be problematic if she isn’t proficient in combat by then."
"Be at ease. Moli is different from other centaur that require combat training. The immature warriors need not only the belief to fight but also the constitution. Moli doesn’t need that. I can see the tremendous potential contained within her; all she needs is a way to release that potential."
As she spoke, Xiayat extended her forefinger and shook it confidently at Fisher,
"Tension and restraint will press her to become more and more withdrawn. It’s only when she relaxes that she understands who she truly is. Only then can she exert her full strength."
Fisher nodded, apparently enlightened, and sat back down on the stone.
Since he had delegated the guidance of the training to Xiayat, he wouldn’t interfere with her methods. After his questions had been resolved, he comfortably leaned against the stone and took out the invisible "Demi-human Girls Completion Manual" to record Xiayat’s characteristics.
Although he hadn’t bound her yet, as long as he had a certain knowledge of this species, he could also accumulate progress. Perhaps after binding her, the completion rate might jump directly to the teens, which was the case previously when researching witches.
However, while Moli was training, he was recording data for Xiayat, the centaur. Somehow, that felt a little strange, didn’t it?
As said before, the research progress of the "Demi-human Girls Completion Manual" was very odd. By any normal research standards, it could only reach a little over twenty percent. It’s as if without deep research into demi-human girls, there could be no real progress...
