Chapter 236: 100. Moli, danger

After sending Princess Elizabeth on her way, Fisher didn’t call Trandell until it was almost evening. He had planned to let him know that Princess Elizabeth had agreed to their New Party’s request, but it turned out that Trandell was the one who called first.

"Fisher, I have sold all the gold you entrusted me to liquidate, and now I am ready to transfer the funds into your bank account. Your account hasn’t changed, has it?"

"No. I was just about to tell you, Princess Elizabeth has agreed to the deal with your New Party."

As soon as Fisher finished speaking, there was a light sound from the other end of the phone, as if something had fallen on the floor, followed by the sound of the handset seemingly slamming on the desk, causing Fisher to slightly pull the phone away from his ear.

After waiting a second, Trandell’s excited voice came through,

"What? Really! My goodness, I love you, you’re so fast! I thought it would take at least half a month before you would talk to Princess Elizabeth about it; after all, it’s hard for you to approach the Princess since you both haven’t really talked since graduating from school, right?"

So you’re the one who’s really fast?

Fisher sat in his office chair, powerless to criticize Trandell for his choice of words.

But after listening to him, Fisher glanced at his coffee cup, which was almost empty, and after a moment of flickering eyes, he said,

"Yeah."

"Right, I almost forgot to tell you something. This morning, the party leader inquired about it on your behalf. While he was having breakfast and chatting with the former Minister Deliris, he brought up the letter the Son of the Sea had sent him..."

Minister Deliris was Prince Dexter’s teacher and was very close to him. Prince Dexter often left the Golden Palace to visit this teacher and listen to his guidance, so it was normal for the New Party leader to get quite a bit of information from the former Minister Deliris.

Listening to this, Fisher tore off a sheet of paper from the notebook beside him, then held his pen and listened carefully to Trandell’s description,

"Hmm-hmm, what did he say?"

"Deliris asked Prince Dexter about the letter, but Prince Dexter said he knew nothing about it and didn’t know who would send such a letter to him."

This was intriguing. If the letter really was from Moli to Dexter, then it meant he had once borrowed a relic from Moli’s mother with a promise to return it next year.

Minister Deliris was one of Prince Dexter’s closest confidants, and even this teacher was not privy to the inner details... Either it meant Dexter really didn’t know, or it meant he was hiding something for another purpose.

On the phone, Trandell’s voice continued,

"Dexter said the letter wasn’t for him; it just arrived at the Golden Palace’s mailbox. According to standard procedure, all letters without a recipient are handled by the administrative department, which only passes them to the prince if they cannot resolve them."

"After all, it wasn’t clear who it was for and the format of the letter was particularly bad. Prince Dexter even suspected that it might be a prank from Isabella when she was a child, somehow reaching him from the past..."

As he spoke, Trandell felt a bit guilty, since he had assured Fisher before that the letter had something to do with the ocean subhuman. If it turned out to be a practical joke within the Golden Palace, that would be quite amusing.

In that case, Fisher would have worked for them in vain, and the New Party would probably only be able to nominate him for a new educational bill’s signing slots, something Fisher had never been interested in.

But Fisher didn’t mind at all; he only furrowed his brow and quietly pondered.

If the letter wasn’t for Dexter, then whom was it for?

"I see. Keep an eye out for me, please, and call me if there’s any other information."

"Sure, I’ll pay close attention."

After hanging up, Fisher finished the rest of his coffee and was about to leave his office to wash his cup when he suddenly noticed a small jar left on the sofa where Princess Elizabeth had been sitting.

The jar was well packaged, and when Fisher picked it up, he found a note attached with elegant handwriting that read,

"Warming tea brought back from Celekang Port. Drinking coffee can lead to insomnia, so use this instead if you get drowsy when writing."

Elizabeth had somehow learned to give gifts secretly.

Looking at the small leaves inside the little jar, Fisher allowed himself a slight smile, then set the jar aside on his desk to enjoy later.

Then, Fisher left his office to rest.

Saint Nali University, with few students around, felt particularly deserted. Tonight, Fisher didn’t intend to travel far back to his rental home; instead, he decided to stay right in the staff dormitory.

Speaking of which, among the professors who took up their appointments here, Fisher seemed to be the only one constantly making the most of the school’s offerings, taking everything from desserts and dormitory stays to theater tickets, making full use of the school’s resources.

Many gentlemen of Saint Nali University either had families and didn’t need to live there or were too proud to stay in the school-provided dormitory, preferring to make the long trek back to their own homes rather than stay there, and of course, they wouldn’t dare to accept the school’s benefits.

Although Fisher used to be lacking in material wealth, now that his wallet had become considerably fatter, he still preferred to lodge without expense.

Such a mentality made Fisher feel somewhat helpless.

He was both complaining and reflecting on himself while preparing to give his previously dirtied clothes to the staff in the faculty dormitory for a gratuitous cleaning, when a beautiful-looking girl approached him. She gave Fisher a slight smile, and then, passing by him, continued towards the girls’ dormitory.

Fisher initially thought the girl was a student who hadn’t left the school, but after taking a step or two, he suddenly stopped, turned his head, and called out to the girl who was gradually walking away,

"Excuse me, student, wait a moment..."

The girl paused, turned her head with a puzzled look, and asked,

"Is there something you need, teacher?"

Fisher gave a slight smile, took a piece of paper out of his chest and folded it before handing it to the girl, requesting,

"It’s like this, I am Professor Trandell, a third-year instructor at the Magic Academy. Could I trouble you to deliver this note to the dormitory manager of the girls’ dorm?"

After a moment of surprise, the girl happily took the note from Fisher’s hand and said,

"Sure, no problem."

But when she reached out to pull the note away, she found that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t take it with her. After a moment of shock, she looked up only to be met by Fisher’s slightly cold gaze.

"Teacher?"

"Student, our school doesn’t have any third-year students..."

After saying this, Fisher suddenly grabbed the girl’s wrist with a reversal of his hand. The strength and speed of his grip were meant to swiftly subdue her.

However, when Fisher began to apply force, he realized it was as if he was squeezing a lump of putty, and his grip directly deformed and twisted the girl’s hand.

"Why are you interfering, teacher?"

The girl’s voice suddenly became sinister, and her body abruptly shot up in height, as if her spine had suddenly doubled in length, pulling her originally smooth skin along with it to elongate.

At the same time, the skin was extremely elastic, and even such stretching did not damage it. It only made the greenish veins on her skin very clear.

The skin Fisher had grabbed now clasped onto his own like quicksand, and her entire being started to bend down—clearly aiming to envelop Fisher.

Fisher had not brought his hand cane but carried the Fluid Sword, which was easy to carry, with him at all times because of its convenience.

At this moment of emergency, he flicked the black handle of the Fluid Sword from his sleeve and furiously slashed at the creature before him. The Fluid Sword Blade harshly cut into her body, causing her skin to burst open, releasing mud-like foul-smelling blood.

Fisher quickly retreated a distance and, from the bushes, several more figures emerged and pounced toward him. Turning back, he swung his sword, cleaving those figures in two, releasing the same foul-smelling contents.

It seemed that ever since receiving the Fluid Sword gifted by Ramasitia, Fisher felt it was much more suited to him than the hand cane given by Renie, and hence, he had rarely used the cane lately...

But this was only the case in combat, and was not out of fickleness, something Fisher felt the need to emphasize.

At this very moment, Fisher saw that those eerie figures were all wearing Saint Nali University staff uniforms, only their faces were expressionless and their bodies cold, looking vacantly toward himself, who stood still.

"Teacher, where is Moli?"

"Teacher, where is Moli?"

In the darkness, numerous figures, either crawling or spreading their limbs wide on the walls, simultaneously murmured in low voices that gave one goosebumps, like chanting scriptures, but Fisher frowned upon hearing them.

Did someone know the identity of Moli, the Ocean Subhuman?

Fisher turned to look at the girls’ dormitory, where tiny glimmers were flashing in the dark. Due to the lack of people around the entire campus, the streetlights were not turned on, which made the darkness between the buildings seem endlessly spreading, as if it were uninterrupted.

"Moli!"

As the bizarre human-shaped creatures murmured behind him, Fisher instantly turned and slashed, severing several figures at the waist. Once dead, after a few seconds, they would be completely dissolved by some strange power, leaving not a single trace.

In the far-off building, windows flickering with lights continuously revealed more peculiarly moving shadows, clearly aiming for the few rooms above that still had lights on.

Now in the entire dormitory building, only Moli’s room was still lit; the fate of the dormitory staff below was unknown.

The night breeze swept through the Saint Nali University under the cover of night but brought not the slightest sound, only leaving behind a silence as profound as death.

Moli, you are in danger.
