Chapter 235: 99. Elizabeth’s Change_3
To tell the truth, this was already a lot better than her previous facade of amiability in front of others while tormenting people behind their backs.
It was Mr. Fischer who first broke the deadlock, looking at the perplexed Moli standing at the doorway, he said,
"If you have something to ask, you can ask me now."
But at the same time, he hinted to Moli with his eyes that if it was about looking for Mu Xi, she should hold her tongue for now and talk about it later.
Although Moli was somewhat afraid, whether out of defiance or something else, she just stood there at the doorway refusing to leave.
If it were up to her usual character, she would have run away the moment she saw the unfriendly look on Elizabeth’s face.
But looking at Elizabeth’s demeanor of asserting her dominion, Moli felt a bit unhappy, especially knowing from Isabella about her sister’s gossip with Fischer, and of course, she also knew they still had some distance between them.
If there was distance, that meant they were not together yet, right?
She didn’t quite understand but felt that leaving like this would leave her feeling uncomfortable.
"Sor... Sorry, I’ll come back later to ask Mr. Fischer..."
But in the end, fear and anxiety overpowered Moli; she glanced uneasily at Elizabeth and Fischer, then with a slight bow, ran out the door, leaving Fischer, who was about to speak again, stranded.
The door was temporarily closed, and Fischer was not surprised by the reactions of the two ladies.
Moli was really too timid, completely opposite to her destructive power like a humanoid steam engine when in battle mode.
Perhaps her character and her ability to bestow Life Energy were complementary; one must be gentle and cautious to bestow life, which is why she was like a shy child.
And Elizabeth, well, her character was terrifying to begin with; Fischer even worried that she might take revenge on Moli in secret.
Now it was like this, the pleasant atmosphere from moments before could turn hostile in an instant with Elizabeth.
Fischer glanced at the still cold-faced Elizabeth, unchanged in expression, simply took the empty coffee cup from in front of her, and said,
"Let me pour you another cup."
Elizabeth didn’t say a word, her face still unhappy.
Fischer ignored her, boiled the water, poured the coffee powder, and when it came time to add sugar, Elizabeth’s voice suddenly came from behind him,
"Sorry, I know she is just your student, I shouldn’t be petty with her..."
Fischer paused for a moment while pouring the sugar, then after a second continued to pour the milk and hot water. When the coffee was nearly ready, he stirred it evenly and placed the mixed coffee back in front of her,
"Enjoy."
Elizabeth took a deep breath, looking at the freshly brewed coffee, and said to Fischer,
"I always become somewhat... irritable after seeing other women around you. To be honest, at one point I even thought about locking you in the Golden Palace forever, so you wouldn’t be able to seduce all those damn women. This thought was most intense in the graduation year, I almost wanted to tear those fools’ faces..."
Fischer quietly listened to Elizabeth’s thoughts, as she talked herself into a laugh.
Then, she took another sip of coffee from Fischer’s cup, let out a sigh, smiled slightly at Fischer, and said,
"It’s not befitting of a Princess to squabble with a young female student. Afterward, apologize on my behalf. I won’t meet her again, to avoid... you know."
"I understand."
Fischer watched Elizabeth sitting across from him in his office; it was as if he had invited a student into his office for guidance, with Elizabeth resembling a problem student who had brawled but was now reflecting on her actions.
Fischer understood Elizabeth very well; he saw her put down the half-finished cup of coffee and asked with a smile,
"Can’t finish it?"
"Ah, ever since leaving school, I’ve rarely drunk coffee. Isabella always feels it’s bad for my health, she can’t sleep at night if she drinks it... You drink it for me."
Fischer, adhering to his principle of not wasting, took the half-finished cup of Elizabeth’s overly sweet coffee, which he did not particularly enjoy, but found it not too bad to taste occasionally.
As he was drinking, he made an invitation to Elizabeth,
"Would you like to stay for dinner tonight?"
Elizabeth stood up, seemingly pleased with Fischer’s invitation, but in the end, she shook her head and said,
"Let’s save this invitation for next time. Tonight I have to go see my father; his health has been very poor recently. I brought some herbs for him from out of town."
"Alright."
Elizabeth stood up, straightened her golden hair, and fastened the buttons on her clothing. She did not intend to redo the elaborate hair ornament again.
In such a state, her look of long hair paired with a military uniform was somewhat contradictory,
"It would be terrible if others saw Princess Elizabeth in public like this."
"I will escort you out."
Elizabeth made a joke with a smile, and Fischer joined in the playful banter, agreeing to her request. After all, there was nobody else in the school right now; even if someone saw them, they wouldn’t dare make a fuss.
She just wanted Fischer to walk her part of the way, nothing more.
"I’ll remember you inviting me for dinner today; don’t forget. I won’t leave Saint Nali after this, you won’t be able to escape that meal."
"Let’s not do it at the Black Mamba Palace; I can’t afford it."
"Do I eat a lot?"
"I eat a lot."
This conversation continued until she reached her carriage.
Elizabeth had changed quite a bit, Fischer could see that, although the change seemed very hard to come by.
"You can tell me anything in the future, you know how to contact me."
"I know."
"That’s good..."
She smiled faintly, giving Fischer standing in front of the carriage a brief glance, then pulled down the carriage curtain and ordered the coachman to drive back to the Golden Palace.
